oh lordy. i didn't even consider the possibility of anyone wanting to adopt the au's characters.

okay, hold on, i'm putting this down:

as i am not planning to ever come back to the au nor continue the comic, i will leave this au to the community. so you guys are free to do whatever you want with the version of these characters. for the office lore people or anything related to it; i'd highly recommend updating them to fit with the new details from canon tadc, as i've already recycled their extremely-far-off-from-canon stories into an original one.

put them in your au, do some modifications, add things, rewrite it entirely — everything's free game. do whatever you want, this is public domain now.

the only exceptions i'll put down are do not whitewash this au's ragatha and keep her as a trans lesbian of some sort. (basically; she can be a non-binary trans if you wish.)

the 'black creature' was mod bee, the persona i used for the blog(s). while i am not planning to use her ever again, i still consider her to be a representation of myself, even if she isn't exactly me. so... for any use, just treat her like how you all treat gooseworx in tadc fanart.

here it is! i’m away from my computer for 2 weeks, so i can’t post the unfinished circus animatic but i’ll immediately notify yall when i get to it.

i wish i have a better reason for why this took so long than ‘i lacked the motivation’, but it truly is that. i may have a huge soft spot for this au, but i would be lying if i said my feelings are entirely positive. i’ve already been open about how working on this thing makes me feel Miserable, and if i’ll be honest, i was so tempted to throw in the rough draft with no dialogue and be done with it.

however, i did come across posts and messages about how people liked this au, and while i still kind of cringe at this and atrd in extension, it was eye-opening to see this thing from another perspective without all of the baggage. i find it hard to grasp how much a work means to people when i do any form of fanfiction, if i’ll be honest. something something my brain thinks i’m not creating anything if i’m using preexisting characters lol

so. here you go, for now! i ... don't think the dialogue's the best since i've already haven't written the tadc characters in a while I kind of forgot how they speak But it's a good start at least. as Always, i allow any fan continuations of this comic. rewrite the ending to be better if you want idc lmao

also please be aware that if you’re going to my main account, i do NOTTTT make tadc art anymore, and it is currently full of fnaf bullshit. so if you don’t mind me going insane over yellow bear children, feel free to follow.

huh? a month has passed? time surely flies— (i hear banging on my door and i start shaking my hands and sweating profusely) wait wait WAIT GUYS I AM IN ART SCHOOL PLEASE I HAVE PRIORITIES —

i answered this ask because i thought of a funny response, but i'm gonna set a firm boundary before it happens ; please do not pester me about the script! i am slowly working on it and i hope that i could get it out sometime (i'll say that i'm about 75% done), but it's Really low in my priority list.

Okay but seriously, I really respect the hell out of this and I hope your next project brings you joy. I know what it’s like to have your passion drain for a comic, and I can only imagine how hard this decision was. I hope you know that your choices are valid and you don’t owe any of us anything. This comic was super fun to read and I can’t wait to read (and possibly draw) the rest of the script!!

I also get it if a new long project seems scary right now—that’s where I was for like six months after I cancelled my comic. But keep following your passions and be open to new things! God that was so cringe

Anyway I wish you the best with everything! You made an amazing comic here 💚

oh yeah, it is indeed the scariest part. like yeah, i have a lot of stories rattling in my brain that i want to put down, but i'm still starting from scratch! i have to write a new script, think of a new art style, and put myself in a different headspace. but hey, while i may have not finished this entire story, i still finished 8 chapters which is a lot for my first long-term project. (:

i still cannot process that people have came forward to draw out the rest of the comic. like... wow thank you!... i don't know why you want to undertake the burden of drawing the rest of the 36+ pages—

thank you for being a cringefail lesbian ragatha truther since the beginning, you were fighting the good fight in the post pilot times and were one of the only people I saw in the fandom that cared about her characterization for like the first YEAR of the show. Been here since the first art style rehaul on ATRD.

honestly. when i see other ragatha fan accounts or otherwise people who would pick her apart in here, i feel like an elder passing on my torch. my very indirect successors. my time fighting for her characterization is done. now time for you all to fight in her defense because fandom are completely incapable of sincerely engaging with female characters.

As someone who has been around since atrd, I'm sorry you've had such a bad time in the fandom, but I do get what losing interest in something you were passionate about is like. I hope to see you around for other stuff once you're less busy and the masses are kinder :D

Two last questions for thee:

1.Are you completely done with the tadc fandom as in making art (ex. office au, influence, mother centipede) or in general (ex. theorizing about canon, commenting on episodes)?

2.Are you still okay with receiving fanart, fanfiction, etc?

i’m just done making art for the show in general. making analysis posts and prediction bingo cards are up in the air, i’ll see if merely looking at ragatha is enough to make me relapse.

i am fine with receiving fan works for this… fan work… feel free to still mention this account, i might check in once in a while.

i’ll say that wanting to move on to other projects played a part in this comic’s cancellation. it’s hard to achieve freedom (drawing other things) when you’re bound by shackles created from the pits of hell (tadc hyperfixation).

as of right now, i am planning to create original comics. i have a particular one about childhood trauma coming up, and… very nervously looks at the ominous shadow behind me. i may or may not have recycle the office lore characters into a story…

so uh since it's fine to try and draw the ending and i might try, what was the pixel size of a typical page?

the pixel size was 1600 x 2480, but i hugely recommend working in something like 3200 x 4960, or increase the size without changing its aspect ratio. nothing wrong with 1600 x 2480, of course, but it was limiting in terms of creating details.
