Ive said it before and i’ll say it again we aren’t lacking complex or morally grey characters.
They’re absolutely everywhere and YOU are the one making them basic and ‘boring’ by dismissing their complexity and immediately trying to define them between right and wrong or good and bad and therefore completely dismissing the complexity of said character or characters

shauna who gets bitten right before nationals. it's the night of the party, and her eyes are on you, dancing with a red cup in your hand, smiling beside friends. not with her. she struts off, feeling less than worthy, and while she's walking, what she believes to be a big dog jumps out of the forest. it's teeth bite down onto the soft skin of her forearm, and before she knows it, she's turning.
not all at once. it never is. the bite appears to be mottled with differing shades of red and purple, so she wraps it, deciding to put off the doctor. they're going to nationals! she doesn't have time to get it looked at or checked, and she certainly can't miss something like this. she'd have to deal with it. it's not that painful.
shauna who has odd "super strength" during the crash. she can move hunks of metal to get to other survivors on the plane, including the large hunk that she later finds crushing coach ben's leg. but she's able to carry you out easily, something she might have struggled with a little before. but you're light as a feather to her, and she rescues you without having to think twice. she has a lot of energy as well. whether it be just adrenaline or maybe something more, she's peppy and jumpy and ready to help wherever she's needed.
shauna who begins having more changes closer to the full moon. her teeth ache, her canines, her stomach clenches in unbearable hunger, and her bite stings, burning as if over an open flame. she's too scared to unwrap it and have a look, so she leaves it as is, but these sensations get worse and worse. she snaps at her teammates more. even jackie. even you. and she gets very reactive, snatching pieces of food away from the others so that she can devour it.
shauna who turns on the night of the first full moon since the crash. while everyone's asleep in the cabin, the aches become intolerable. her bones itch, and her muscles stab her at every turn. she rushes down the ladder and outside to get a burst of fresh air, but that's when it starts. out in the woods. with only the sound of wind and her own breath, shauna gets down on all fours and begins the transformation. it's painful, unlike anything she could ever imagine, and she cries out into the night before succumbing to the wolf.
she returns the next morning with a handful of dead rabbits, plenty for her teammates to eat, and ripped, tattered clothing. you spend the day cleaning her off with a damp washcloth. and while she pretends to not know what had happened, she has an inkling, but there's no way she's a werewolf, right? those only existed in the movies.
shauna who has a black coat. when she's a wolf, she's very dark, easy to miss in the dense forest, with glowing, amber eyes. her scruffy tail drags over the ground while her ears stand tall, pointed and sharp.
shauna who finally takes the wrapping off to observe the bite wound and it's gone. fully healed. she swears she's gone insane.
shauna who turns when she feels too strong of an emotion. anger. sadness. lust. doesn't matter. her eyes will glow yellow, and her canines will grow. she doesn't know how to control it yet, so she does whatever she can to stay away from you in times like this. most of the time, she can stop the turn if she calms herself down. but other times? not so much.
shauna who loves howling. she'll do it whether she's in wolf form or not. especially during doomcoming and after card draws. it makes her feel free and like she's part of the forest, part of a pack.
shauna who's bolder, more cocky, since being turned. she makes the first move. kissing you, seemingly out of nowhere, and deepening it as soon as she can. she's skilled with her tongue and knows how to make you moan into her. before becoming a werewolf, she could be nervous, anxious. but now? she had no reason to be. she had the power, after all, and the strength. and she knows how to use it.
extra: she's very touchy with you in public, sometimes taking things too far, but it definitely turns you on. scratching. biting. grabbing. she's hungry. needy. and trust me, everyone's aware of it soon enough.
you had liked, loved, shauna for as long as you could remember. you thought you'd never be more than friends. now, you two were together like you'd always dreamed of, but shauna feared that the relationship would change if you found out about her.
shauna who's territorial over you. she growls, yes, growls if anyone so much as looks at you funny. if someone hit on you? ohoho, it would be over. life-or-death over. you have to physically pull her away to calm her down, reassuring her that you're hers and only hers. she might even whine about it.
shauna who's scared shitless when you finally find out the truth, but honestly, even if you're a bit scared of the idea, you kinda love it. a wolf girlfriend? what a body guard! she even allows herself to turn in front of you. and you promise her that, worst case, you'll run for the hills. but surprisingly, she's calm around you in her wolf form. you don't get even a single scratch from the interaction. you spend most of the night petting her as she lays beside you on the dusty attic floorboards.
shauna who can enter a half-wolf state. when she doesn't quite fully turn, she's left with just ears and a tail. a hybrid look. and when this happens, she has the cutest mannerisms. her ears perk up when she hears something. a bird. a rustle. anything. her tail will swish when she's happy or when you're kissing her. and man, is it sensitive. petting her tail makes her whimper, and she'll bat your hand away when you try, embarrassed. same with her ears!
shauna who returns to you after every transformation to get cared for. you provide her with a new set of clothing, that same, damp washcloth, and your love. you'll massage any sore muscles she has from the turn and pepper her shoulders with kisses. some days, her brain tells her that she's a monster, but you're always there to contradict that. to show her that she is deserving of love, even after everything, even with her new identity and state.
shauna who's always warm. you love cuddling her because of it. she used to be cold whenever you had touched her in the past. her hands especially. but as a werewolf? toasty and comforting. when cuddling, you'll feel her chest pressed up against you, slowing warming you up from the inside out. you wouldn't even know if it was snowing out because she's just so warm.
I massively headcanon that BC Rose is an actress, she still plays shauna in Yellowjackets. Shane loves movies and TV shows, he's super picky ABT it and will interrupt during the movie to praise (or complain) about the acting, lighting, camera movements and angles and the entire cinematography of the movie/show. So he loves to watch Rose's work and give real opinions. Ilya always complains when he sees Rose's face on the tv BC he's dramatic and likes to pretend he's super jealous (he is, but he knows rose isn't a real threat) until he sits down and watches some yellowjackets (he does the thing that dad's do where they stand in the middle of the room with their arms crossed claiming not to be watching it while staring at the tv😭) and he, meh, likes the show and THEN he sees Rose kiss a girl and he is sat. King of queer. Shane has to start YJ from the start and Ilya is a massive jackieshauna fan and cries when they fight and texts rose telling her she fumbled a baddie and to bring her girl back inside. He is so giddy ABT it and Shane just doesn't get it, he likes the cinematography of the show, not rose kissing Melissa and Shauna's gay hallucinations. Ilya doesn't care that rose has never specified her sexuality and has only dated men, after seeing her kiss a girl he is gonna "MAKE HER KISS SVETA NEXT, OKAY SHANE?! perfect lesbian love, I am putting sveta on this right now. Come, text her our paramount password."
