Why is it so hard to be civil?

Honestly I’ve never had a problem in my life with being civil to an ex but this has taken a whole new extreme. All I want is one thing that is mine back but I guess that is too much to ask. He never bought food, gas, honestly anything unless he was the only one that was eating. I’m guessing he just never wanted to pay for me to eat. 🤷🏼‍♀️ all I’m saying is it shouldn’t be this hard to get along with someone, honestly it should be pretty simple.
