Hello my main men, ladies, and other respectable people. I have now made a new art blog and am moving my activity there. I have already posted a bunch of art there, and I’ll try and get the wheels properly rolling.

I won’t delete this blog, mainly bc it has my pokémon ninjago blog attached to it and I don’t want to get rid of it yet. I don’t know what exactly I will repurpose this blog to, but possibly it’ll be more of a “shouting into the void” type of personal ramble blog, a finnblr, or maybe a reply blog for my pokéninjago one since I currently can’t reply to comments on that blog 🤔

Why did you choose your url? Eyeyeäh. Idk. I tried to think of smth similar to my name, and I had seen Hiippo in a name calendar I think? So I was like heeheehoohoo a mushroom name! Yeee. And hiippo.tumblr was already taken so I added the first letter of my last name.

How long have you been on tumblr? Hmm. I think I joined... 2016? Maybe. Sooo uhh 8 years?? *sweats* oh woah i'm old

Do you have a queue tag? Na. I don't usually queue on my main. Sometimes I schedule posts tho, and sometimes I try to give them tags like "i'm actually still asleep this is an automatic reblog" but like. I'm bad at tagging. My reblog blog is mostly queue anyway. And I'm too lazy ro tag every thing I queue, I just use the fast queue thing on browser.

Why did you start your blog in the first place? My friend insisted I start posting my art online, and she recommended tumblr. I think I might've also noticed an artist I admired was using tumblr since they abandoned DA, so I was also lured in by them.

Why did you choose your icon/pfp? Hiipot (singular: hiippo) is a genus of mushroom. This one is a more tropical one I think, I don't remember its name, and I oviously made it more fantastical than it is irl. But they are blue and white! I thought they were the prettiest hiippos.

Why did you choose your header? Uhhh what's my header? Aaaa yeah that, well I thought it was one of my best artworks, I still think it is, and it was mostly blue which went hand-in-hand with my icon and blue themed blog. I used to change the colour and header of my blog seasonally, but I haven't done that in ages.

What’s your post with the most notes? I don't know... might be that one photo of the cinnamon bunnies I made for christmas and tagged this awesome undertale artist bc they have frail health, and bc cinnamon bunnies are a healing item in the game, and bc I had sent them money through ko-fi for a sketch of their Chara and Frisk saying I baked them and the creator cinnamon buns, they reblogged my post ab them and added the sketch on it, Chara and Frisk eating the buns with coffee and the creator in the background inhaling the buns 😂 That was p epic and I loved that sm. I reblogged with a cringe reaction sketch comic of my own bc I got so fkin many notes from that post and freaked out X´D But yes, I still get notifs for that sometimes, it might have the most.

How many mutuals do you have? / How many followers do you have? Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm a horrible person if I get this wrong, but I'm bad with numbers. I have a good hanful of awesome mutuals whom I love v much and I respect them and appreciate their support <333 I have 104 followers, of which most probably don't use tumblr anymore.

How many people do you follow? I only follow 52 ppl. I get v anxious if I follow many, so I'm p careful with whom I follow. I prefer occasionally cheking ppl's blogs to like and reblog stuff, it's less stressful than having my dash overwhelmed.

How often do you use tumblr each day? Recently less, but usually I have tumblr tab always open. At one point I had almost a stalker here so that drove me away from tumblr a little bit.

Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? who won? Not really. Like I said, there was this person who was really pushy and always there in my dms even when I told her I didn't want to chat all the time, and I eventually blocked her, but otherwise I've had p good experience with everyone I've interacted with. She didn't mean any harm either. She just made me mad and stressed out.

How do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ posts? Hate 'em. Don't want 'em. Guilt tripping is one thing that pisses me off.

Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous? Hmm. CJ is quite popular! And AJ! AJ's definitely famous in the Ninjago community. I.. don't follow them but I go check their blog every now and again `:D Sam is probs tumblr famous but he doesn't really use tumblr anymore. Honestly? I feel like all my mutuals are famous in their circles xD

21. What are your character’s manners like? What is their type of hero? Whom do they hate?

Taisto was raised by wolves and wolf guardians, so he's very awkward in human environments at first. He didn’t know the basic social cues or anything, he only knew how to speak decent Finnish. He’s shy and resigned, so even though he grows very tall, he tries to make himself unnoticeable and always seems kinda apologetic. Even later on when he’s mastered his human form (at first he doesn’t know how to make a human nose or ears, and wears his fur even in his human form), he still has some wolf-like mannerisms, like yawning with his tongue out and teeth bared, shaking his head and shoulders in rain, making silent bork noises to birds and cats and so on.

Taisto probably saw his uncle Huhta as his hero when he was young. His aunt Surma was cool too, but she was much more severe and merciless, and Taisto probably saw his uncle’s gentleness as a more desirable trait to have.

He doesn’t necessarily hate any of the humans he lived with, even if they killed his pack and uncle and aunt. He’s generally extremely tolerant, which is unheard of in a guardian spirit. However, he resents cruelty and treachery. He hates princess Aurelia wholeheartedly after her grand betrayal and deceit transpires. So much so that his hatred and vengeance remains as a (semi)physical being after he dies.

50. What are the prevailing facial expressions? Sour? Cheerful? Dominating?

Riki's neutral expression seems calm and pleasant. Whenever someone calls or greets him, or just starts talking to him, he smiles mellowly, no matter if it was a friend or a stranger (unless it was someone he doesn't like, or if smiling isn't proper in the situation.) His eyes.. it feels weird calling them heavy-lidded, cos the eyelids aren’t particularly thick, the brows don’t push down on them or anything, but he still has this manner of keeping his eyes very relaxed, almost half-lidded. This combined with his gentle smile and smooth way of talking can easily make one wonder if he’s hitting on you or not. XD

Generally, he seems kind and approachable, if not a little seductive (on purpose or not). He's very self-contained when it comes to showing "negative" emotions, so you won't easily see him angry or crying. If he’s angry, he doesn’t smile and his ears might be tilted back a little bit, if he’s really angry he might pout and furrow his brows a little, but it takes a lot to get his composure to crack.

Voice is a very important thing for a character :3

Aa hey!! Thank you sm for asking!! :D Yeess I'm bad at explaining voices but I'll do my best!

49. What about voice? Pitch? Strength? Tempo and rhythm of speech? Pronunciation? Accent?

Riki is a baritone, so his voice is lower-pitched, but not deep like bass would be. He speaks in a smooth, warm tone and calm pace most of the time. He's upper class, and he speaks generally in full sentences, and hm, how do I say, he sounds like he's trying to speak grammatically correctly even when he's just chatting with friends. He does loosen up with buddies though, especially with Seki who's a former criminal and very casual XD Riki works as a guard in the palace, so I suppose the formal speech just kinda stucks on, let alone he's learned to speak respectfully since he was a child. He also articulates very clearly and has some sort of mix between soft and strong voice.

He has an accent for sure, but since the world is imaginery, idrk how it sounds like. I just know that Empirian Ninjagese has slightly different pronunciation and writes some words differently than Ninjagian Ninjagese. Instead of American English vs British English though, the difference is more like between Norwegian and Swedish. Both understand each other almost perfectly, but it's still a completely different language. (the only thing between the two languages i've come up with is that the article "the" is in Ninjagian Ninjagese "tha", and in Empirian Ninjagese it's "za".) Riki's class also affects his accent, and he has that high-class fancy speech.

Riki has a tendency to be a little snarky and arrogant sometimes, especially in competitive situations, and his tone in those times is still smooth and warm, but in a taunting, condenscending manner that would drive me crazy angry :´D

When he's talking about deep and/or emotional stuff and comforting someone, his voice gets deeper, very soft and almost purring.

Oh! Yeah he also makes funny accidental fox sounds sometimes when he's for example surprised or excited. They're really silly and he's a little embarrassed of them, but all Ninetales make them so it's not just him.

Hi I’m still pretty new here so can I ask… can you give me the general gist of your story and ocs?

Oh hello! I'm excited to see someone new interested about them haha! :D

Hmm alright, I think I had a list of my OCs lying around once... Ah found it, here!

I can try to do a quick compact summary of the stories here too, but generally, I have many different stories, and a ton of OCs. The ones you probably mostly see are from my Pokémon-Ninjago crossover. Most of my ocs are anthros I think. Some are "regular" animals, some are aliens, and there's some humans too, but I'd say normal humans are a rarity `:D Most of my ocs are magical or fantastical to some degree, apart from my scifi story characters. Even my human chars are rarely just humans.

Pokemon Ninjago AU

The thing that I probably mostly post art about is my Pokémon Ninjago crossover story. I have a blog for the stuff that's based on the canon stuff, but here I post about my next gens and spin-off stories. The story parts from Ninjago's canon after Day of the Departed. First there's my fanseason Blast from the Past, that introduces two important characters. I keep being vague ab the story in hopes I'd write/draw it out one day but at this point idk if it'll happen.. Next there's a mini season that revolves around the ninja's families, since most of them have children (whether biological or not). Zane has his own little story here, where he and P.I.X.A.L go around looking for the origins of Zane's souls. Next there's the last (two?) season(s) of Pokéninjago, that involve a lot of death. An Overlord cult rises and threathen's Ninjago. Lloyd's younger child is kidnapped and killed by a cult, which drives him to look for the murderers in frenzy, and he and the other ninja get ambushed. In the chaos, Lloyd gets killed, and Cole abducted, and later killed. The rest of the ninja take the children to safety, to the Cloud Kingdom after it became evident how dangerous the cult was. The story then focuses on the kids' lives in the Cloud Kingdom, until the day Lloyd's brother-in-law comes to ask for help from the now teen-aged little ninja, since their parents have lost. Rest is p spoilery, but in the end everything is fine and dandy yee. A new story starts outside of the main Pokéninjago series after this. It's the story of Seki, Lloyd's resurrected younger child. They have some issues as a kid and esp as a teenager, they run away from home, end up in bad company and become involved with drug business. This leads to them becoming one of Ninjago's villains, but they get stopped, purified from the drug that corrupted them and they have a redemption arc. They're deported to the neighbouring country, where they get an asylum from the palace. They end up falling in love with their personal guard Riki (super slow-burn tho haha), which is forbidden bc the country is awfully homophobic. There's different timelines of the story, some better and some worse, and in one of the good ones the two get to move to ninjago and getting married. Another spin-off story tells about Yuga, a young mixed-breed Ninetales from Empire of the Nine Sisters (same place where Seki got deported). His appearance resembles a myhical creature/person of their religion, so the local rebellion (ice and fire foxes have fought in that country through history) forcefully enrolled him after he evolved. He later takes over the rebellion and leads it in a way he sees is better, shedding as little blood as possible. Unlike the rebellion originally, he enrolls both fire and ice foxes, and aims for equality between the two.

In Wolves' Clothing / Susien vaatteissa

A story of a forest spirit, Taisto and a princess, Aurelia. Both had lost their parents when they were v young. The kingdom has enslaved guardian spirits and Taisto ends up in the castle as Aurelia's assigned guardian spirit. They become friends, and when they grow older, Aurelia falls in love with Taisto. Because of the magic that binds them, Taisto ends up falling in love as soon as Aurelia tells about her feelings. Later, she ends up betraying him and attempting to kill him, because her legal guardian and the ruler of the land, Governor Stenbock, the head mage and the bishop were all convinced Taisto's magic was way too dangerous and powerful, and he needed to be gotten rid of, but only Aurelia would be able to do it bc of magic nonsense. Taisto is heartbroken and schoked, but after he recovers from the initial shock, he curses Aurelia into a wolf with eternal life, so she would be hunted over and over again, but she'd always be reborn. Eventually she meets a friendly back of wolves that want to help her break the curse and bring both her and Taisto to peace.

The Reckoning

A scifi story that takes place on a planet named Velos in a faraway galaxy. Velo's has been invaded by an alien species called Avesauria. The story follows the rebels that are trying to get the invaders off of their planet, and Kiran and Ragner, who live in the palace, Kiran being a native Velosian and Ragner being the prince of the Avesauria. Kiran kinda sorta helped the Avesauria to take over the planet in order to save is own life, so as a thanks he gets to live in the palace as the prince's "pet animal". The prince is just a kid who doesn't know better. There's no humans in this story.

Other stories and ocs don't have much content yet, but there's one about a werewolf and a secret agent who don't have names yet, one Silverfang parody I really want to draw comics about, and some pokémon and wolf stuffs.
