I reached a new goal weight, so here’s a new progress picture!
225 (left, February 2014) 180 (middle, October 2017) 165 (right, June 2018)
Slow and steady, but I’m getting there! For reference, I am 5’8” tall.
you’re AMAZING!!!
Hi! I just got engaged and I’m already overwhelmed with wedding planning. How did you get started planning yours??
Congratulations!! Take some time to enjoy the engagement, you don’t have to rush into planning the wedding until you’re ready! I almost had a very expensive “false start” where I had to call my mom and tell her not to take a deposit check to a venue because I rushed to try to plan a bunch of stuff right away and then I had changed my mind. It would have been a huuuge mistake to have the wedding there, and I’m so glad that I changed my mind in time lol.
I started with the budget, that determines everything about the wedding: size of the guest list, venue, what type of food you have, what price range of dress you’re looking for, etc. Obviously a lot of that has to do with your own personal taste, too, and what you want…but once you know that then it really comes down to knowing how much money you have to work with so you have realistic expectations through the whole planning process. Then you need to find a venue with an available date that suits you, and pretty much everything else builds from there!
this wasn’t me but omg this is me haaaaalp
Snapchat Etiquette
I’m still learning Snapchat. Help me.
When should I snap someone vs just putting it in my story?
If someone snaps me, is it expected I reply?
If it’s in thier story but not snapped to me, is it wierd to reply?
I have about 50 people in snap but only interact with 10.
Thoughts?
1 - typically my default is to post to my story. if i REALLY want to make sure someone in particular sees it, i’ll also send it to them (and my story).
2 - “expected” to the point of like, a text message reply is? not really. but it’s nice to acknowledge if someone sent you something personally.
3 - absolutely not! that’s why the story is there!
ask more questions if you have em!
How did you decide to try weight watchers? Any tips for making it work? I've bounced between weight watchers and calorie counting several times. I like weight watchers, then I get frustrated with certain points (avocados! coffee creamers, flavoured yogurt, hummus...). I start to think I'm developing a negative view on food so I switch to calorie counting for more freedom. Then I over-do it! What do you like about WW, any tips to sticking to it?
The short answer is that I don’t like WW and I’m planning on cancelling for a second time because of all of the reasons you mentioned.
I decided to try it because I wanted to move away from counting calories and thought it might help, but the more I learn about the program and the points system the less I like it. Someone starting at a higher weigh might feel differently, but it doesn’t seem to fit with where I am in my journey personally. I guess the only tips I have are if you feel like you’re restricted, eat more zero point foods on the newest program and eat back 2 of every 5 fit points you earn if you’re active. Doing those two things definitely helped me like it more this second time, but I still don’t think it’s adding enough to my life to justify paying for it.
This is all based on my opinion and I know other people swear by WW and that’s great, I’m happy they’ve found something that works for them!
Just as an update on this, I cancelled my WW subscription for a second time last night. I’m going to track my intake with MFP as I have in the past and then I’ll probably regroup after my wedding.
I feel like there might be a major goal-shift coming once life calms down and the budget loosens up.
Do the fit points factor into anything or are they just their own thing? I connected my Fitbit but wasn’t sure how they counted!
Also anon, same boat lol
2 weeks on weight watchers and i just had my first day of eating 3 ACTUAL meals yesterday. i went a little over, but i honestly thought i would never have 3 meals again on all this so i guess it’s a win?
Hey, do you or any of your followers know of a site that lets you guess what your size is, then you input your measurements, and it would show you what you think you look like vs how you actually look? I seriously cannot remember it for the life of me. Also glad to hear your bachelorette party went super well! ✨🎉✨
I kind of think I know what you’re talking about? Or maybe I’m thinking of a tool that lets you input your stats and then you can change your weight or BF% to see how you might look at your goal weight? But I don’t remember what any of those tools are called :( Can anyone else help??
Week 1 of WW: 1 pound down.
Current opinion: this shit ain’t worth it and is teaching bad habits because i very consistently run out of points after 2 meals and then starve all evening
Help a baby fitblr?
As you may have heard, someone (cough) deleted their blog on accident. 5 years, 78k posts, 17k awesome friends all gone.
Not gonna lie - It sucks. So many memories gone. But, If I know how to do anything - it is how to overcome adversity.
So - can you help a baby fitblr out and help me find my old friends?
Please reblog this and help me find other fitness friends out there.
How does one accidentally delete their blog?! Welcome back!!
I was removing side blogs - I had 7 or 8 of them, most of them were unused. I was doing while on a work call and not giving it my full attention. The first few went fine - and then I deleted my main.
this saddens me intensely. so much lost :( i’m so sorry!
fitchris25: There’s nothing wrong with that! Plenty of people do that and are successful. I would never pay for the addition of meetings, it wouldn’t help me at all. I would recommend following some people on IG who are also doing WW so you can see how they use their points and get meal ideas
yeah, meetings aren’t something that would help me either. i’m not on IG but can try to poke around and see what i find. thank you!
Hey Chris. I feel like I fucked up. My mom begged me to join Weight Watchers with her because she really wanted someone to help keep her accountable and to be able to do it together. I just started yesterday and already feel incredibly anxious and like I can't possibly eat anything because then I lose points and I need to keep as many of those as possible and just... I already see the dangers of it, but she had me sign up for 6 months already! What can I do?
Well that’s a crappy situation. Your mom shouldn’t have pressured you into doing something like that, let alone committing to six months at once when you already weren’t sure!
WW points are like a budget showing you how much to “spend” in a given day/week. You’re supposed to eat them. “Losing”/using/eating points isn’t a bad thing, that’s literally the entire point of the program! It’s not like a game where you’re trying to end up with the highest number of points, they should all pretty much be gone by the end of the week! But if you can’t wrap your mind around that then it definitely isn’t healthy for you and you should quit. Tbh I might even ask your mom to reimburse you for the money you spent on it if you told her you didn’t want to do it and she still pressured you into it.
They need to talk to their mom and their WW leader about how they feel, I can understand the mom wanting/needing an accountability partner but she needs to do her part as well. Feeling like you can’t eat anything is extremely dangerous.
huh? there’s a leader in this?
The person who runs the meeting, they’re called leaders. Or they were when I was part of the program.
oh! yeah i’m only on the app and site. didn’t sign up for the in-person stuff.
yeah so i’m out of points for the day and have only eaten 2 meals today. i literally want to cry. i had an okay breakfast and a very typical lunch so if with just that i already can’t have dinner, i don’t know how to do this. this can’t be right.
@fitchris25 said: @hiitmetogreatness only if you’re paying for the program that includes in-person meetings. If you don’t know what that is then you’re just doing the online program with the app
boooooo... i think i’m just doing the online program with the app then.

I’m annoyed because I played the game and tracked everything this week and stayed in my points and I still didn’t lose??? Come on. Maintaining is better than gaining I guess. I hate this freestyle program. Weight watchers needs to change the program back
out of curiosity, what was the program before?

wrenisconfused said: i just started two days ago and i felt like that at first but it’s not so bad. there’s a ton of foods that are 0 points that you can eat.
i just feel so hopeless with a program like this. i wish i’d stood my ground and never started. i’ll see if i can wrap my mind around points that are supposed to be gone instead of hoarding them.
