Monster Hunter - Ghidorah
Well, im making Thunderous Nightmare something on the side now, cause I wanna introduce the Ghidorah species now. I might also go back to previous redesigns and change something to the lore of all this, since im including new things into it.
One last thing, before anyone asks, this is the base species Ghidorah, which they would be called Dorat's for young Ghidorah's. Since this is all redesigned for Monster Hunter.
Snake Wyverns that act invasive when looking for a place to nest. Using rattles and neck hoods for intimidation. Agile and lethal with thunder as their element and paralysis from their fangs
Yet these monsters are scouts for something bigger….
An emergency call for help from the settlement of Kunafa was urgently requested. An unknown species that suddenly appeared in the windward plains during the sandtide is causing terror around the region. Reports say that the monster began aggressively attacking nearby monsters to feast on, which it ran through the village when chasing one.
The investigation was assigned to the sudden emergency and we were told where the monster was last seen. Upon arriving at where it was last spotted; first we saw nothing for a minute, until a herd ceratonoth came running towards us. Scarily, a Chatacabra and a Quematrice were running alongside them in fear as well, along with other small monsters.
We ran through the herd to see what caused this, the dust clouding the area was thick as we moved further through the herd. Until nothing ran through and we saw a figure, closer inspection and it was a dead Doshaguma, an Alpha to be precise. As we approached to inspect the corpse, the body shook, something climbed and hissed near the Doshguma.
As it rose on top of the body, we saw the monster that caused this, and without preparation, it attacked suddenly. As the hunter fought the monster a second one of its kind appeared and ran towards the Hunter, however Angurius appeared out of sand. It wasn’t until Rey Dau appeared from the sky that the two mysterious monsters flew off.
At first we feared a turf war between Anguirius and Rey Dau would happen, but unexpectedly they both went their separate ways. Leaving only questions and concerns to what happened today….
It's hard to to assume a name for them, however from the new mysterious hunters, they call them Ghidorah.
(Some information other than encounters were only recorded)
From what we gathered from their arrival, it seems they hunt aggressively, the reason for it is yet to be learned. They terrorize regions to scare nearby monsters and then hone in on a single target to hunt, usually large monsters. While apex’s are not targeted, they are bold to hunt during the seasons where the apex’s are most active.
From their rattles and elongated body they are confirmed as snake wyverns, which also would explain the hoods they have on their necks. Using a combination of their rattles, flaring their hoods, and hissing sounds for intimidation. Even using their wings to make themselves appear larger.
It's unclear where they live since they appear and fly away so often, so we can assume they are nomadic.
(Not much information other than encounters were only recorded)
Being snake wyverns they do have fangs within their upper jaws, which from encounters, they use them to paralyze anything they either hunt or fight. They also breathe the thunder element but with the hue of yellow, signifying that their breath attacks are strong perhaps. Their elongated bodies allow them to move with great agility, with a somewhat slithering movement pattern to it.
(Some much information other than encounters were only recorded)
While captures haven’t been successful we still at least learn their capabilities though these encounters.
Using thunder and paralysis as elements makes them completely immune to them, which also makes them unaffected by shock traps. Water, Fire, and Poison seem to somewhat work against them with Blast being the best in the same category. Being thunder element based, they are highly vulnerable to ice and dragon elements draining them is crucial.
From some of the recorded fights their wings can be broken to reduce agility and flight. Heads can be broken to reduce their elemental capabilities. Their tail can be severed presumably, but has yet to be seen.
From what we see from how they hunt they sometimes will scrap and run, meaning they will hunt small monsters if they are unable to kill large monsters. This even happens when hunters track them down to prevent their hunts, as they act very invasive.
From the recent monsters that appeared they all seem to collectively hunt and despise the Ghidorah species. Gojira seems to hate them the most, as it will aggressively target them and quickly end them before they can even flee. Strangely Gojira's own thunder element attacks actually severely damage Ghidorah’s, this new discovery is yet to be conclusive.
One of the haunting assumptions from these Ghidorah’s raiding the regions, is that they are simply scouts. Yet with them hunting, they act desperate, as if something worse is causing all the aggression.
With how numerous they are appearing over time, we thought it wouldn’t stop yet, some have only retreated and came back. Until no more were sighted, however an unsettling feeling as the atmosphere changed across the Forbidden Lands. A large sky wall of yellow thunder is seen from the windward plains, and it's approaching fast….
