U.S. Plans to Withdraw From UN Human Rights Council Today

The Trump administration plans to announce its withdrawal from the United Nations Human Rights Council on Tuesday, making good on a pledge to leave a body it has long accused of hypocrisy and criticized as biased against Israel, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Hey so… just a friendly reminder: Trump is going to pull the US off the Human Rights Council because the US got called out for Human Rights violations due to it’s policy of separating families at the border.

Let me repeat that:

THE US WAS ACCUSED BY THE HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL OF HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS AND INSTEAD OF ADDRESSING THE CONCERNS/STOPPING THE VIOLATIONS, THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION DECIDED TO JUST LEAVE THE COUNCIL ALL TOGETHER.

i wish i could spend more time on tumblr, but alas, i’m 30 years old and like 80% of my free time is spent on working on my novel, and thus my free time isn’t  really free.  (and by “working on my novel”, i mean “think about my novel while eating, crying and cringing” and also “avoiding, procrastinating, cringing, crying”. 

10% of my days consists of me doing artsy stuff. the other 10% gossiping while drinking wine.
