Himeji Division YASHA is an all-male group consisting of actor Nobuo Sone, professional shogi player Bunko Ozaki, and train conductor Iwao Yoshioka.
The group's color is a manatee gray, meant to symbolize balance and sophistication.
The group's symbol is a star sprouting wings, meant to represent their journey to fly past all competition. The symbol is engraved onto a piece of jewelry they all wear.
The group's hand sign is an open hand with all fingers spread out, save for the middle and ring finger stuck side by side.
At the request of their leader, the team was put together by his manager to prove themselves as something even greater beyond their fame.

“S…Scary… I don’t like scientists that look like her. With the white lab coats and n-n-needles? It’s making me feel dizzy thinking about it. It’s just too scary!”
Miho Kobayashi
“Sone was saying some crazy thing about this lady. Something about marriage issues? It must be hard to keep love life in between running big company. Actually… E.L. Medical Co is the company Kannonzaka works at! Does this mean she is the woman that makes him work too much? That’s bad! Maybe if we beat her, I can get him a vacation, yeah?”
Sumire Shinomiya
“Little girl…? I don’t want to fight someone so small… It would make me sad if I hurt her in any way. She seem like littlest Yamada though. Smart, good with computer stuff. I only care about trains, plus, most phones are very small to me. Maybe she can help me figure it out better…? Actually, I can just ask Ozaki. He’s very smart too!”
CodeX
“Hm? Oh yes, team review! Uhm… They seem okay? Not too tough, but not too easy to beat. A good challenge for us as new fighter. Okada still scares me though… I hope she’s not someone that hurt people. Not like them…”
“I can’t really comment on her. She’s a big biomedical scientist though, so I guess she sounds interesting.”
Miho Kobayashi
“I… I feel the need to apologize for Nobuo’s comments. Seriously, how is a guy so famous so… So horny? Like why the fuck would you say those things about a happily married woman? Especially after what happened with her past marriage… So sorry. Everything that isn’t that pervert’s weird comments, makes her sound like a decent person at least.”
Sumire Shinomiya
“Isn’t she a little young to be rap battling a bunch of adults? Ah, but I guess there’s the Yamada brothers… Still, it’s a little awkward that we are going to have to face a bunch of children on stage. I’m not really looking forward to the idea of having to roast a kid… What a pain.”
CodeX
“This is a pretty wild team when you look at them… I guess Miho and Sumire are related, but what is their relationship with Ritsuko? And how do they work together, I wonder? Their rap abilities are so average, it makes me think that maybe they make up for their teamwork with their lyrics… Any case, they don’t look to be much of a challenge. Hopefully Nobuo can keep his comments to a minimum though… God, who was going to tell me that teaming with him was going to be so embarrassing…?”
“I forget that big sis has a team… You wouldn't think she'd volunteer to compete in something like a rap battle, but Ritsuko-nee is nothing but dedicated to her work. If only she was a little more interesting… Or interested in me, heh. Too bad we can't be more friendly. We got such different views on Ramuda Amemura though, so it just isn't meant to be~ Still, why is she so attached to a bunch of dolls? They aren't human - They're disposable!
Miho Kobayashi
“Damn, Tomi's ex wife is here too? Ugh, can you believe that idiot could fumble someone like her so badly? Then again, getting married is something I don’t really…”
“...Hm? Oh, sorry, just zoned out for a second there! What was I saying? Right, that leaked sex tape was pretty hot! But Tomi could use that flat ass a little more if he really wanted to find a new lover like Miho has. I mean, can you believe she’s already remarried and having kids?! But hey, just because there’s a goalie, don’t mean I can’t score~... Maybe. I dunno, I think I’d be in some deep shit if her new husband found out, ahaha.”
Sumire Shinomiya
“Haven't I…? Yeah, this is the girl who's been pissing off everyone! Kinda hilarious, everyone lets a kid like her do so much. Who am I to judge though? I'm one of the few men who has free access to Chuohku, so why not let some crime babies get their grubby hands on all the data they want? I know I'd love to have that power!”
CodeX
“Excluding the little baby, do you think the other two can get it? I mean dark, gloomy women do have their appeal… But they're just so uptight, I can't really have fun with that sort of energy. It's a shame too. Most of my fans are pretty preppy, party girls. Sometimes you just need a good emo girl to spice shit up…”
“Huh? Oh, give a review on the team as a whole? I just did! They're like… A 6 out of 10. The kid knocks off most of the points though. You think I'd be scared of a baby? Fat chance!”
TV Producer: Thank you for the opportunity! I hope that Sone-san will accept this invitation to return to our program!
With the shuffle of papers, Ran Nishida finds a stack of documents thrust into her arms by surprise. Still, she takes it in stride and fixes the cluttered files with a smile.
Ran: Of course! He had such a wonderful time during the last special, I’m sure he would be delighted to return. And what did you say the episode was going to feature again?
TV Producer: Our host is going to be visiting different cultural gardens across Japan! We’re hoping to boost tourism to the places we feature, so I do hope Sone-san will come to give his input. Viewers loved to hear his remarks before, it should help everyone involved.
Ran: Right… (More like mock you all again. I should probably convince Nobuo to reject this dumb role.)
By some miracle, the alarm on Ran’s phone beeps once to notify Ran that her time was up. A frown dawns on the staff member as Ran sheepishly meets their expression with her own pitied look.
Ran: I’m so sorry, my time is up. I will be sure to let Sone-san know about your offer. Please send the director my regards?
The staff nods as Ran bows politely and begins to walk away, glad to finally escape the stuffy office room.
Ran: (I thought they would never shut up! The meeting ended ages ago, why would you corner me just to beg for my whore of a talent?!)
Ran’s bright teal heels tapped on the linoleum floor, echoing down the halls of the broadcast center’s headquarters. It was moments like this, that Ran felt the most relaxed. Alone with her thoughts, the heavy papers and folders acted as a weight to ground her. Then, the echoes of a second pair of heels seemed to echo behind her. The sound is enough to snap Ran out of her temporary peace, her brows furrowing in irritation.
Ran: (Damn, so much for a quiet walk back to my car… Please go a different direction. I just want my two minutes of peace.)
Turning down the hall, Ran calmly approaches the elevator. Pressing a button, she stands back and watches the lights blink above her. For a moment, she forgets the shadow that was trailing behind her, blissfully drifting back into her own head. Dreams of a world far from here, tucked deep away in her PC where nobody could possibly interfere with her goals and ambitions…
Ichijiku: Nishida.
Ran: UGYAHHHH!!!
Ran lets out a guttural scream at the sudden noise, evoking a baffled look on Ichijiku Kadenokoji’s carefully painted face. Fixing the paperwork in her arms, Ran meets her eyes and stammers out a greeting.
Ran: I-I’m s-s-sorry Kandenokoji-san!
Ichijiku: No, that was my fault… I didn’t mean to startle you.
Ran: N-No, that was my fault! I was just zoning out…
It was then that Ran noticed the box in Ichijiku’s arms. To that, she pointed to it and questioned.
Ran: Are you here making deliveries? But why?
Ichijiku: Actually, it’s for you. Or rather, your “talent”.
Blinking in bewilderment, Ran gasps.
Ran: No way, they're finally here?!
Passing the box, Ichijiku seems to match Ran's disbelief with a heavy sigh. The both of them were much to familiar with the year of pestering Nobuo Sone had been subjecting them to, eager to give away his body even more to the Party of Words. As much as it mutually benefited both the political party and the unstable man, it was still a hassle to maintain. Especially for Kadenokoji who's eyebrows furrowed with stress at the thought of Nobuo's smug reaction.
Ichijiku: Unfortunately, yes.
Ran: I'm sorry Kadenokoji-san… But this is a life-saver for me! I was reaching my limit to his bitching… If you thought Nobuo frolicking around Chuo City was bad, just try spending one day driving him around like some overworked donkey!
Slipping into a more informal manner of speaking, Ran lets her grievances with her client start to show, which Ichijiku can't help but chuckle with pity.
Ichijiku: Just make sure we don't regret this choice.
Ran: O-Of course! We won't let you down!
Ran bows deeply, clutching the box close to her chest. The other woman simply stands silently, watching her groveling, before she simply hums out a goodbye to start walking back down the hall. It's only when Ran lifts her head, that she watches Ichijiku vanish behind a corner.
Ran: That was strange… Did she know I'd be here today?
A ding startles Ran again, this time stifling her surprised cries with a small squeak. Running into the elevator, she presses a button to go down to the ground floor. Her focus couldn't remain on the Party of Words woman. Right now, Nobuo was practically shouting at Ran in her brain, whining like a child for his long awaited delivery.
Ran: Aah, should I cancel today's auditions? I should just warn the studios maybe… Oh, what about the photoshoot? Gah! Why did this have to land on my lap now? There’s so much I gotta reschedule now!
“I did something horrible to him and his friends. I wish I could control myself. But saying sorry doesn’t change anything. I… Do I really have to battle him? I don’t want to cause him any more pain. I don’t like hurting innocent people. I’m the worst…”
Daiki Kamiyama
“Dai…? I believe Edogawa talked about him before. Something about being teacher to him. I wonder what sort of boy this little one is, to want to be like Edogawa. Little detective does such dangerous work, it would be sad if little Kamiyama got hurt like Edogawa does all the time. He’s too young to be running into danger. It’s better to stay safe and go to school, yeah? Be good and stay away from trouble.”
Jack Verrill
“That face… H-He’s the man trying to take me away. Why is he in this team? Is this some sort of trick to catch me? But… I can’t just leave the team. Sone and Ozaki would be very disappointed if I left without repaying their kindness. Maybe I will be protected by guards, yes? It’s not like they would let the con… Contestants leave suddenly?”
Veiled Vanguard
“Now that I think more about these men, I’m scared. I n-need to breathe though. Stay calm, breath deep… I’ve done a lot more tough things. I’m big and strong… I can beat my scary past. This is all so I can learn about me. I need to know who I am so I can live peacefully. And first, I have to beat this team… I can do it! We can do it!”
“Ehh? Are they seriously letting a wanted criminal rap battle? Why? Don’t tell me they’re forcing to sing for his freedom. That sounds like a lame anime plot… I dunno if I should feel bad for him. I can’t really be bothered though, since apparently he’s the leader to the first team we will have to battle against. What a pain…”
Daiki Kamiyama
“I guess I’m like Nobuo when I only know this kid for his family name. A handful of competitions were held in the hotels they own in Japan. That, plus my parents having done business with his family. I never bothered with meeting any of them before… Or maybe I have shook their hand on a few occasions? If that’s the case and I forgot, I’m really sorry.”
Jack Verrill
“Tch, how rich is the kid to have his own butler? My parents never bothered to do something like that, but then again, my family isn’t as rich as them. I’m pretty sure the Kamiyamas are on a whole other level of wealthy… Whatever. Butler or not, Nobuo and Iwao better not lose their cool around this guy. Their reaction to him tells me there’s something else going on with him… Not sure what it could be. Better keep my guard up though…”
Veiled Vanguard
“The way the others treat this team, tells me that we might actually struggle to get through our first televised battle. I guess I should consider myself lucky if neither of them seem concerned about their second team member… Still, will these idiots keep it together? I hate how tense they’re acting in the waiting room thinking and chatting about these three!”
“Shit, he’s alive? I thought I did him in with his brother… What was his name? Eh, can’t remember. I was way too hopped up on substances to really recall anything from that day. Or why I really did it. It was a lot of fun, though, I remember. The thrill of running away from everything I tore down. Oooh, this guy must hate every fiber of my body! That is, if he even recognizes my face. Maybe I can use it to my advantage, taunting him with his brother's death? It's sure to get the crowd riled up, hahaha!”
Daiki Kamiyama
“Kamiyama? Like, the family that runs those fancy hotels around the world? I’m more familiar with their business, not their family. I mean, makes sense, doesn’t it? I have to travel sometimes for film shootings. Around Japan, Korea, the UK… It’s hard not to see an Elysium Hotel building wherever I go. They’re alright rooms, depending on the location. But nothing to write home about…”
Jack Verrill
“Ah, this guy… I’ve been told to watch out for him. Something about not letting him get his hands on our Iwao. Whatever that means… Why is the Party of Words, especially that woman, so worried about this guy? He’s just a butler, not some military agent. A helicopter butler at that… Kid should learn how to frame his butler and file a restraining order if he really wants to get away from this dick.”
Veiled Vanguard
“How exciting that we get to go against this team first? It’s going to be an easy fight though, since I know ‘Soka will buckle when he meets Iwao again. Our victory against the Veiled Vanguard is guaranteed! After all, what is a man to a god like us?”
