Characters who are so compassionate that it borders on self-sacrifice. Characters who are so broken by the cruelty of the world that they make it their mission to save as many people as they can. Characters who don't know how to and don't want to be selfish. Characters who are collapsing on themselves but still devote themselves to others' wellbeing. Characters who hate themselves but have an uncanny ability to see past others' scars and mistakes.
Just... characters who are so hellbent on being kind to others that they don't notice their own self-destruction.
Im on a thinking about Lyrin kick. What if he hadn’t been sent away? What if his tribe had been like ‘you know what, a male seer IS weird but fuck it he’s OUR male seer damnit’ and he’d stayed? What if he’d been taught by his grandmother and taken on the responsibility? What if his echo had let him save them instead of arrive too late? What if he’d ended up a leader in his community, always on the back foot to make sure his tribe was taken care of and taken seriously- because who takes a Keeper tribe seriously that keeps a male around?
The pressure he’d be under all the time. He’d even more pragmatic than he is now. So much more paranoid and distrustful, strategic and thoughtful. So much less likely to want to deal with people outside his clan but aware enough to know he might have to. He’d be a negotiator more than a healer, shrewd and sharp and taciturn. But weary always. Always that.
I saw something the other day asking who is your most tragic character and it's this one. The sad, fluffy, leucistic, Keeper who barely really exists. He was marked to be the future Seer of his tribe at birth, a vision seen by his grandmother, the current Seer. But he was male- male Seers being unheard of, he was denied this future by his tribe. He was loved, but he was given to the padjal when his affinity for hearing the elementals showed itself. Loved, but sent away. Held at a distance by tradition and an underlying unease. Not belonging in the Shroud and not wanted in Gridania, existing in the lonely in-between. He lost his tribe and his love in the calamity. Any attempts at finding that kind of love again seem destined to fail. He's middle aged now and he's tired. He's accepted he had it, briefly, and then lost his chance. It will not come again and he doubts he will be allowed to roam Halone's Halls to find him again. He feels powerless and small compared to those around him possessed of sterner stuff and greater might. He wonders why he's here. He keeps looking for a purpose, a reason, and it's why he finds no issue with the idea of standing in the fire, if thats what he's supposed to do. If he can sacrifice for the greater good, maybe that is why he's here. And maybe then he can know. He doesn't want to die, not really. But he's weary. And he does want to die. Immortality is a torment when everything you love is already gone. When you have no purpose or reason except giving all you are to some cause you deem worthy. It's the greatest irony Death itself finds refuge behind his ribs.

Secret! What he harbors in his soul is hardly a secret to those he loves. But the potential that hides there might be.
What is the name of your WoL's chocobo? Why that name?
Lyrin'a's chocobo isnt actually his. In fact, Dauntless tends to act more like the miqote belongs to him, and therefore is his responsibility. Dauntless actually belongs to Keenaire, a friend and former knight in Ishgard. However as Lyrin'a began traveling outside the Twelveswood more often Keenaire insisted he take Dauntless with him as he knew the war bird would do far more to protect Lyrin'a than a rented chocobo. Dauntless has proven his name several times over, leaping into the fray and acting as a shield behind which others could stand. Aside from that, the bird likes to preen Lyrin'a's hair and tail, and shove his beak around the keeper in search of treats.

Family!
Sometimes your chosen sister tries to explain the intricacies of her investigations to you and you feel like she might be far overestimating your capabilities as a sleuth.
