kinda funny that steve rogers, a chronically ill son of first gen immigrants, was raised by a single mom in brooklyn into an anti fascist progressive man who stood up everyday against oppressors. and that cap 2 was about an AI surveillance state & how easily the government could be corrupted/compromised. and that cap 3 was about accords that would strip enhanced individuals of their autonomy and turn them into pawns/breathing weapons & a tortured POW who was villainized. and how in infinity war steve rogers had become a world wide fugitive doing what he thought was right even if it wasn’t legal.
and then endgame said well on that note, we’re sending him back in time to 1950s (the decade epitomes w trad values and when there was still segregation) and he wouldn’t do anything about social issues or hydra or his best friend being brainwashed bc he deserved to rest <3
Just remembered that Sherlock and Moriarty in Young Sherlock remind me a little of Charles and Erik in X-Men First Class..
I didn’t go missing, David. The FBI knew where I was the entire time.
"I am learning so much about you, Sherlock."
I know he's older than the character, but Donal Finn in that crown, was exactly how I imagined Carden would look like. I know there's no chance of this casting happening, but Donal would make such a good Carden.
mycroft during this dinner scene is so heartbreaking and interesting to me. he is acutely, physically distressed here, and particularly in these moments we see him flinching when silas and sherlock begin to get physical. it speaks volumes about his own childhood and they are not happy ones.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Mycroft supposed to be really intelligent as well? I'm not saying that Mycroft in this adaptation is not intelligent enough, but he's still not on Sherlock's level. Wasn't it a fact about the brothers that both have great deductive abilities, but use their intelligence differently or something? (I read the books last over a decade ago, forgive me)
That is not to say I do not like Mycroft in this adaptation. He gives strong eldest daughter vibes; poor guy is just so done being the only sane one in the family, handling every mess, I do feel bad, lol.
I just started watching Young Sherlock, and yeah I know they're enemies in the books and everything, but what is Sherlock and James ship name?
I think one of my least favorite things about fandom sometimes, specifically the Harry Potter fandom is how often things can be forgotten in favor of shipping because I feel like there's so much emphasis on shipping culture and which characters are in love or the world building and exploration of the wizarding world that the heart of the books is forgotten. I genuinely think that Harry and Ron's relationship is the heart and soul of those books and movies, they're such soulmates and a lot of Harry's sense of self preservation or motivation to keep living and going is really because he hates Voldemort but because he has Ron and the Weasleys in his life to make him want to keep going. Their friendship is so beautiful and one of the only things the bridge troll ever wrote that was meaningful and introspective was the abuse that Harry suffered, the consequences of the abuse he went through at the dursleys and how the Weasleys helped him through that is actually so important to his character just. I fucking love Harry and Ron they're the bestest friends to ever best friend.
I don't watch the Bridgerton series (cuz I didn't think much of the books), but God, I wish Ishqbaaaz was produced like that, with one season focusing on one sibling. Then we would've got good stories for all the couples, instead of an overstretched story for one.
Whenever I re-read the books, my hate for the movies grows stronger. What is more annoying than the movies butchering Ron's character, is how much they butchered Harry and Ron's friendship. If one reads the books, it's the closest relationship Harry has with anyone, and it is acknowledged time and again, throughout the series.
When Harry died to save everyone in Book 7, thus, replicating his mother's protection when she had died to save him, and none of Voldemort's spells worked properly on people, it was Ron who broke Voldemort's silencing charm first. In my head, that's because Harry loved Ron the most, and Ron loved Harry the most (not to deny how much the others loved and cared for Harry).
Yes, they had their disagreements and two major fights throughout the course of the books but doesn't negate their friendship and affection for each other.
I get so mad whenever I think about the great disservice the movies do to Harry and Ron's friendship.
Every time I read OoP, I wonder why Umbridge wasn't convicted for sending two dementors after Harry in Little Whinging. She confessed to it in presence of many witnesses, so there's no lack of proof. Why wasn't she prosecuted for this abuse of power, and moreover, allowed to continue to work at the Ministry?
It's embarrassing that I didn't know until today that the 'Hawa Hawa' song in Mubarakan (2017), which I liked a lot at that time, is actually a remake of a Pakistani song from 1980's. Eeeks!
i sincerely hope that this Venezuela invasion will be another disaster for the US on the scale of Vietnam. i also hope that casualties on the Venezuelan side will be minimized. may ten thousand usamerikkkan soldiers die painful deaths.

Why does Marvel have this amnesia towards their projects pre Disney plus? Every year they’re talking about “gayest tv show yet” or “first gay character” like they didn’t have Karolina and Nico from Runaways in 2017 in an explicitly canon lesbian relationship.
And the fans are just as bad. The incels calling everything woke DEI nonsense when marvels shows c.2013-2019 were probably the best tv marvel has put out while also having quite diverse stories.
Now they purposely rate any female lead project poorly, purely because they expect less from women. But shows like Jessica Jones, Agent Carter, Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D were really popular when airing.
Marvel used to focus on Black stories, have disabled/ neurodivergent characters, explicitly queer charcters, conversations about rape and PTSD and more! So why have they forgotten that they made these high quality shows? And why are the fans now having such a negative reaction to anything that’s not white male lead?
