How perfect we were meant to be.
Who's your best friend?
Alina. And Rumple, of course.
Is there anyone that you'd risk your life for?
Rumple, My Father, Alina, Actually, there are very few I wouldn't. I wouldn't like to see anyone suffer if I could save them...
If you could pick any superpower, what would you pick?
I would choose the power of Omniscience. Knowing everything. Can you imagine how many people I could help if I knew that much?
How do you trust with your life?
Rumpelstiltskin... Adam, whichever you prefer, Alina, and perhaps... Gaston. Not Garret, he may mean well, but it's not the same... Gaston though, he was shallow, but he was brave and I do believe he would do anything to protect those he feels responsible for. I wouldn't trust him around Rumple however...
Like a Bug in Your Ear | Dee & Belle
"Yeah, that," Dee giggled softly, grabbing her ankles to pull her legs up to sit criss cross beside Miss Belle. Chesh? Really? Well that’s a good nick name. It sounds a lot like Chess. Which confused the young girl. "No…" she trailed off, giggling at Belle’s grin, trying to think of just how many cats she knew. "Cats always look grumpy… not nice or grinning at all." She looked to the book, then back up to Belle. Belle was always a good reader, and had a magic of keeping kids interested in the stories. "Can you read? I can read the second chapter! And we can go back and forth until you need to leave?"
"Well clearly you haven't been talking to the right cats." She laughed. She adored reading with children. No matter if they understood or not it was fun and the way they lit up when they read something right or something interesting happened. Or they finally understood something... Belle couldn't help herself from enjoying it. It was why she'd initially worked at the school. If she couldn't run the public library she might as well enjoy the company of those who truly enjoyed even the most simple story. Because no matter the story, there was beauty in them all. "That sounds like a lovely idea."
The Little Belle || Elisa and Belle
"Henry’s book? Emma Swan?" She laughed lightly. "Wow I’m more clueless then I thought I was. You’re referring to Henry Mills? The Mayor’s son…. but his book? What’s that?"
"Well, I hear a lot at the library. He's got a book of fairytales. He's figured out we're cursed. But, no one believes him... His biological mother is Emma Swan."
Library Blues || Mary & Belle
"If I could get out of this town I would but for some reason…well you know nobody leaves here." It was true she can’t remember the last time somebody moved away or left storybrooke, but gods did that make her want to be the first one to do it. Being here made Mary’s arms itch and her teeth grind like this wasn’t where she was meant to be but really there wasn’t much she could do. "You are right the right words in the right way could even make magic happen." She of course was lying about the magic Mary didn’t believe in it anymore she out grew it really if anything the only thing she did believe in was imagination. "I should check them out just in case I don’t finish them here but I wasn’t planning on going home anytime soon. Better to be safe then sorry though."
"It's not so bad you just have to learn to find the good in this little town." She offered with a gentle smile. She knew why no one left and she no longer could encourage anyone to do so. Knowing something would stop them, no matter what it was. She knew the curse was still in effect, even if it was weakening slowly. She mentally thanked Rumple for breaking the curse on her, otherwise she could have caused danger to those around her... not that the curse would have let them leave anyway, but she was't sure how dangerous it could get. She bit her lip to hold back the comment on magic. "I do believe you'd be surprised to know just what magic a few simple words can create." She laughed softly, as if joking. But she wasn't Not really. Words were powerful, magic more so. "Of course, read what you can and if you don't come up to the front and check them out." She nodded, that way it would save Mary the trouble of checking something out she didn't need to.
The Little Belle || Elisa and Belle
"So do you think we’re doomed to be like this forever? Knowing but unable to tell?" She looked at her, distress clearly in her eyes. She’d been wondering for a while now but had never known who to ask or talk to this about with. "Or will they remember eventually?"
Belle shook her head. "I think the curse is already weakening. It'd kept Rumple and I apart for so long... to finally find one another and break our own curse? I think Henry's book is right." He'd come to Belle not long after finding it and showed her. "I think Emma Swan is the savior and she's going to break the curse."
Library Blues || Mary & Belle
Mary had always thought Belle was nice, she of course had seen her around town before the library was open. She always smiled, no matter what Belle was always smiling and seemed nice enough to approach. Mary was so bored of this town she could get to the outskirts but never get out, it was driving her crazy to not be able to leave to get out and explore more of the world beyond this town. She never understood it but she didn’t feel right here she wanted to be away and breath in nothing but the fresh air. “Its amazing they’ve helped me more then anything in my life really.” Mary turned the book over looking at the torn, worn out cover and smiled. “I think you’re right.”
"Me too." She smiled, looking over at Mary. "I always wanted to travel, you know. But I couldn't leave my father... Books are what made me able to stay. Now, of course I have my other things keeping me here. My own adventure you could say... but never underestimate the power of words when they're properly combined." It was a bit of a speech, but always the reader Belle could be a bit wordy from time to time. No one seemed to mind. It wasn't as if she was babbling nonsense. "Would you like to check those two out or would you be interested in looking for more? Or i can hold them at the front." She offered, knowing some preferred to read here, rather than home.
Like a Bug in Your Ear | Dee & Belle
Dee nodded happily, offering a grin that was partly lopsided and not all that perfect with a tooth missing in her top row. She couldn’t help it. Loose teeth always bothered her and she tended to play with them until they fell out. (Much too Abby’s disgust.) The young girl peeked over at the book and smiled even more. “This one has pretty pictures!” she said in absolute glee. “The beginning’s the best part. And the cat! The Chesh-…Chesh-…” Dee paused in annoyance and huffed a sigh, “the purple funny cat.”
"Cheshire." Belle said softly. "But, I've heard someone call him Chesh once." Or y'know Chase. As Belle knew the young man who came in here every so often. "But you can also just call him The Grinning Cat. Do you know many cats who grin?" She gave a cheshire grin of her own. "Do you want to read it? Or shall I start?"
Ask for another chance||Rumbelle
He could see in her eyes that his curious little Belle was craving more information form him. He also knew that he should give it to her, but he wouldn’t. She knew so much about him, so much that he should burden anyone with knowing. Telling her yet another part of his life like that was unthinkable. She had faith that he wasn’t a coward but she didn’t know it was in his blood. She didn’t know that was the stock he came from. His fate was defined by his father’s cowardice that was his own. He couldn’t tell her the hope she had in him was futile as he would always be a coward. He just wasn’t made of stronger stuff. He couldn’t promise he wouldn’t hurt Hook again. He had every intention of destroying that man before it destroyed him. That was for another time though. “I shall try to stay safe.” He promised. That was the truth. He would keep from putting himself or her in danger. That was what she wanted wasn’t it? It wasn’t Hook she was worried for it was him. “We do indeed.” He said smiling. “Right this way my lady.” He said with a small bow and a waved hand leading her to his dining room that had his large and useless dining table cleaned off and put into pristine order along with the rest of the room with a small part for only two seats sectioned off by a bouquet of the most perfect roses he could find and two candles set in the middle.”I hope a night in is to your liking?” He said holding her close to him to remind himself she was still there.
Belle did wish, deep down that he would tell her. That would share the things about himself that made him who he was. She was certain there had to more that came into play than just the parts she knew... but there was time to learn. And she'd press for information another time, but this particular moment it seemed better to let it go. She did eye him though, his wording was off. And she knew it. "You better." She said it as a joke, a smile accompanying it, but there was an edge to her words. She wanted to insist he promise not to hurt this man, but he was off, leading them to the other room and she sighed gently. Another time then. Belle lost her train of thought and the idea of scolding him when she entered the room, a smile lit up her face and reached her eyes. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him gratefully. "It's beautiful." She said softly, her lips only a breath away from him. "You've always known how to impress someone when you try." She smiled finally stepping away slightly, but not before pressing another light kiss to his lips.
Like a Bug in Your Ear | Dee & Belle
Dee beamed excitedly to Miss Belle, recognizing her from being the librarian at the school with Miss Alina. Well, before Belle moved to the town library. Since then, Dee hadn’t seen the librarian much and attempted to read books on her own. “Abby sometimes reads that with me!” Dee quickly rounded the bench and hopped up to sit beside Belle. “Can I read with you? I’m a good reader!”
Belle recognized the little lady right away, the bright young girl had often come into the library. She missed her students quite a lot and would have to make a point to visit Alina sometime and maybe doing a reading night aimed towards younger kids, or maybe at the school even. "Of course you can. Do you want to start back at the beginning? I don't mind, Alice only just fell down the rabbit hole." She shifted a bit so the younger girl could grab the book and they could have it placed between them since she'd chosen the one with pictures (she liked the illustrations with this book, one of few she actually favored the art).
Library Blues || Mary & Belle
Mary smiled it was nice to know a fellow lover of books really she could spend hours in a bookstore just the smell of a real book in her hands or surrounding her had her in a better mood. She didn’t get the nooks or ipads with books on them how could you write in it or highlight passages nothing like the feel of a real page in between her fingers. “Books have more then a story to tell they have lessons and concepts that most dont have anymore.” Mary followed behind her as she beckoned her between the stacks of books in rows upon rows. “No common sense books, how scandalous.” She mocked moving to grab the book and read the synopsis smiling as she thought about it. “This sounds like the perfect good.”
Belle would be completely okay being stuck in a library as long as she had food and Rumple, she'd be quite alright. Though a shower would be nice, but past that she could most certainly live in a library with no longing for the outside world if people still visited her. Of course, that was with her memories of the old world intact. Thanks to True Love's Kiss, Belle was aware she'd done a bit of traveling. And she was aware that her heart ached for the man known as Adam in this world. "Books are amazing things, full of secrets only a special few find through reading them." She smiled when Mary seemed to like the book she'd handed her. "It's one of my favorites." Though the list of her favorites could probably cross the library... "i'm certain you'll like it."
Welcome to Storybrooke || Neal & Belle
Belle had heard there was another visitor to their little town. Curious, though. She was awake, unlike most of the town. And was surprised that even though the curse was clearly weakening (anyone who read much at all could see that) that they were getting so many visitors. This one however, had not made it into the town as safely as the others. She wondered why Emma Swan and August Booth, as those were the names she'd heard people call the strangers, had made it in fine... and this man had not. A name she'd not yet come to find out.
She visited the hospital, and many of the nurses and doctor's there knew her well enough not to question why the librarian wanted to see the newcomer. They all knew she was likely just Belle being Belle, welcoming the stranger to the town. Plus-- the bookworm was known for being curious and this was one thing she couldn't find in a book. (Or could she find her answer there somewhere?)
Belle knocked gently on the door and offered a smile. "Hello." She gave a wave with her free hand. "I heard we had a new visitor... and the road wasn't so welcoming when you arrived." She tried to joke. "I'm Belle French, The town librarian... I brought you some chicken soup, homemade, I figured since hospital food isn't known for it's quality, this may be a step up." She would have brought a book, but it was too much of a guess to simply assume a type of book one may read without knowing them. So she opted for food instead.
Library Blues || Mary & Belle
"Books are something, well really the only thing that can take you anywhere and nowhere at the same time." Mary had found her place in books at a very young age it was easier then listening to the bullies or dealing with anything really she just stuck her nose in a book and forgot anyone else was around. Mary wasn’t the superstitious type she believed in things she could see and proved to exist many times she enjoyed proving others wrong by finding a myth about how they came to have stories about them in the first place. "Yes please."
"They are." She nodded. "The knowledge of generations of people compacted between a couple of covers and bound together for everyone to read... People truly underestimate the ability of words. Whether they're a biography, or a fantasy novel there is knowledge to be found if you look." She nodded gently. She nudged herself off the chair and beckoned for the red head to follow her. "Here's the fairy tales, it even has a few not so common ones in there." She smiled, moving quickly onto the next book, knowing exactly where she wanted to go. She plucked a book off the shelf. The first of the Lioness Quartet. "I think this series is perfect for you."
Like a Bug in Your Ear | Dee & Belle
"What’s that?" Dee asked curiously as she popped up beside the stranger sitting on a park bench. Her sister wasn’t too far off if Dedra really did need help. She loved the park though. And all the people she could watch and try to speak too.
Belle looked up from her book to the younger girl and smiled. She was sitting cross legged on the bench, book her in her lap. "It's one of my favorite stories. It's about a young girl, probably about your age." Though Belle knew Alice to be older than the story portrayed her. At least now. "Alice in Wonderland." She turned the book slightly so the young girl could see the page.
