Tolerance

To not tolerate the intolerable is one of the bestest ways to fight hate

This place is a no zone for those that are the intolerable; racists, homophobes, transphobes, antisemites, dangerous extremists, ableist, sexists, etc.

This means that includes sexist remarks against any gender, including men, phobia against lesser spoken of sexualities, and hate against religious groups that aren't minorities. Hate is not accepted in this space

Such a nice entrance.

Lovely open concept design brings the outside in. The living room makes it look like you're sitting by the pool.

Then, off to the side there's the dining area.

And, this cool corner kitchen with a central cook island.

The everyday dining area has a separate entrance from outside and a nice view of the stained glass windows.

Very nice primary bedroom has doors to the pool.

The ensuite has several rooms and some pretty tile.

Including this walk-in dressing room and closet.

Nice room with doors to the patio.

Another cute room for the children has a door to the yard.

This is the guest house.

Very nice.

It has a large bedroom.

A nice shower room.

And, it's own private covered patio.

August 8th 1963: Great Train Robbery

On this day in 1963, the ‘Great Train Robbery’ took place in Buckinghamshire, England. The team of 15 robbers stopped the Royal Mail train by changing a signal from green to red and stole £2.6 million, which is the equivalent of around £40 million today. Only 6 of the 126 bags on the train were not taken by the robbers. Most of the money, which was made up of used banknotes, was never recovered. 12 of the 15 were caught and jailed but some escaped and some were never caught.

Wait. I originally reblogged this because funny, but we do have historical evidence of disaster dark jokes dating back to the 1910s about the titanic

In fact many jokes were surrounding the Cathloic churches antisemtic response to the titanic sinking, people joking that perhaps religious figures sunk the ship themselves (through prayer).

Hell we even had similar complaints surrounding disaster jokes as we do today. Take for instance this Everett True comic

More fun facts about ancient Celtic marriage laws: There were no laws against interclass or interracial marriage, no laws against open homosexual relationships (although they weren’t considered ‘marriages’ since the definition of a marriage was ‘couple with child’), no requirement for women to take their husband’s names or give up their property, but comedians couldn’t get married

I want to expound upon “comedians couldn’t get married” thing because it’s actually really interesting. Satire was respected in Ancient Ireland. It was thought to have great power, enough to physically maim the subject one was making jokes about. Satirists could bring down kings with a witty enough insult. That was actually their original function. When the king didn’t do right by his people, a bard was supposed to compose a poem so scathing it would raise welts on the king’s skin to oust him (it was illegal for a “blemished” king to rule.) Unwarranted satire was considered a form of assault. So what it boils down to is ancient Celts being like “These people are too dangerous to reproduce. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH CHILDREN. EVER.”
