15.11.2019; planning, espressos and studying.
it has been a pretty productive week and it's kind of nice to get back into the swing of things. i have already planned the next trip that will break my study routine again, but i guess that's a downside (and somehow also a perk) of long distance relationships.

If youāre interested in learning korean, and want to do it with the help and support of other people, then this is the group for you ! Please, reblog and send me a message if you would like to join!
Here are some of our rules and features :
* No set member limit, but we will not accept more members after we have a good amount.
* Members will have access to a KakaoTalk groupchat, and quizlet all about korean !
* Inactive members will be removed and replaced if inactive for a certain amount of time without warning, you may be re-added if you message me with the reason you were gone
* group Skype sessions / calls to practice speaking & help each other
* The group will be specifically for studying korean, sharing resources and tips, helping others learn and study, sharing notes, practice speaking, etc.
* Personal talk will be allowed but a separate personal groupchat may be made if there is too much chat in the group.
* Anyone is allowed to join whether you are a beginner, intermediate advanced or fluent, there are no requirements other than PLEASE be serious about wanting to study ! This group is for fun but it is still a study group, and I hope that we can all motivate each other and be serious about our studies together
*The KakaoTalk group chat will be the main group, please if you want to join either have KakaoTalk already or be prepared to download it and make an account
*People who are not members can follow my blog for updates on open spots or new groups, and follow our members personal blogs (those who post study/korean related content) so they can have some resources to learn as well
Ideally, I would like to do bigger things with the group like making korean related YouTube videos, or putting out more proffesional and better quality content on tumblr to help others learn with us but for now doing this seems to be a nice start !
Happy Monday! Hereās a spread (ft. my desk space) I did with the free time I had last week with classes being nearly finished. Next week is my last week of school and Iām so very excited. I was also excited to use some beautiful artwork made by guuuay.studio in this spread! šāØ

I've studied for almost 2 hours, got 2 assignments done :D
attention studyblr folks:
bullet journals arenāt for everyone
you donāt need a fancy bujo spread every week to be a studyblr
you can use a normal planner and still be a studyblr
you can use cheap bic pens and still be a studyblr
you can never buy a muji pen or mildliner and still be a studyblr
you can have a computer that isnāt a macbook and still be a studyblr? like what is this apple worshipping cult?
you can type all your notes and still be a studyblr
you donāt have to take honors/ap/ib classes to be a studyblr
you donāt have to go to a 4 year college to be a studyblr
nontraditional students are beautiful and valid and you are working so damn hard
learn your own way. donāt let others get you down.
language learning made easy
Iāve summarized professorĀ Alexander Arguellesā video, because I think this is crucial for language learning.Ā
There is no magic trick that will help you become fluent in 1 month, but there are very effective approaches to learning a new language and if you combine them, you will surely become fluent.
If youāre learning a new language, the most important thing you need to consider is ā what type of language learner are you?Ā
1. If you:
have a more deductive approach, which means that youāre better at listening to and observing the language first and learning through that, rather than starting with plain grammar points from a textbook
have a fair degree of intuition
like to observe a phenomenon
feel somewhat comfortable with ambiguity for a while, until things become clear
are someone who can feel comfortable being corrected when they realize they were wrong, rather than getting confused and frustrated because they went down an initial path that turned out not to be correct (so you actually learn from being corrected and you donāt get confused by it)
then, these manuals are best suited for you: the Assimil Language Series, the Linguaphone Series, the Cortina Methods.
2. If you:
have a desire to have things explained to you beforehand in a nice and clear way
have a logical and analytical mind (which is usually the product of education in general)
have a need for a systematic approach (basically if youāre most comfortable with a book which is going to introduce the grammar according to an agreed set of methods or an organized plan)
then, you should try out some of these manuals: the Hugo Series, the Made Simple Series, the Teach Yourself Series, the Buske Series.Ā
3. PAY ATTENTION TO PATTERNS!!!
the most important part are the patterns of a language
no matter what type of language learner you are, I think itās really clever to incorporate this method into you learning.Ā
a language is actually made up of patterns which constantly repeat themselves and that is THE KEY TO FLUENCY
repeating the patterns over and over again, until they become natural, until you no longer have to conjugate the verbs in your head before speaking
when you become really good with patterns, your sentences will come out naturally, and patterns are what will get you to fluency
Iāve provided the links, where you will find a review of the books, so that you can have an idea of what they look like. You can find most of these on amazon.
There is also an amazing blog on here, which provides free books, and I think that you can find half of these series for free there. Ā @lovelybluepanda
