Far be it from him to act on gloom and doubt, but he has a feeling that she’s correct here, unfortunate as he finds it.
“It’s stupid,” he begins. “And a damn shame, too. But they ain’t gonna listen to me if they ain’t gonna listen to you.”
That’s the way all the villages are run, though: Unhearing of anything that might not be exactly what is in its best interest -- in regards to keeping its public image clean, that is. (He’d like to say things are different in Kumogakure, and they are -- but not by much, not enough for it to really count.)
