Below, I have listed several things I do to help me study. Hopefully, these can be helpful for you all: 1) Mind maps Mind maps are perfect when in-depth knowledge is needed, especially for history. I find them very useful and helpful for revision.
2) Quizlet/Flash card If I had to pick a favourite studying method, it would be Quizlet or flash card. If you don’t have Quizlet, I highly recommend you making an account and downloading the app on your phone.
3) Past papers This is also a very popular one amongst students and teachers. If you’re an IB student, these are very beneficial and most of the questions on past papers will be used for class tests/quizzes! I found a May 2017 past paper folder on Google Drive and I’ll put the link in here.
4) Highlighting Highlighting key terms, dates, locations, and important information makes life so much easier if you ever need to look through your notes/textbook for a specific thing. I usually use 3-4 colours so that I can highlight only the important information. Please, do not over-highlight, it’ll make everything too colourful and it would be harder to find the information you’re looking for.
5) Read your notes/textbook out loud There is a 50% chance that you’ll memorise what you’re reading if you read it out loud because you’re both listening to the text and reading it at the same time.
6) Timelines This is especially useful for students who are taking history as a class. Making a timeline for a historical event is so useful and you can see the key things that happened as the timeline progresses.
7) Diagrams and labelling the diagram This is very useful for the science-based classes where you probably will need to draw diagrams and label what they are.
