but omg!!!!! I feel like it’s absolutely the same for Micheal!!!???? Like Rick is probably his favorite person in the world. I’m still figuring out Michael’s history but I feel like all of his family died horribly when he was younger and he had nO ONE b/f he and Rick became friends and just <33333333
i ALSO feel like rick is like one of the few people who can calm michael down when he gets angry haha (altho sometimes not even rick can do that depending on what’s got him upset lol).
Anyway – do you think Michael knows about Rick being a hunter or nah???

Honestly, I’m still figuring out aspects of Rick’s backstory too so I feel you hahaha and he’s also 100% wide open plotwise as a result ;DDD But, here’s what I do know:
rick, b. 1885 grew up super poor in the slums of late-victorian london it was terrible
had a younger brother and sister
things looked up when they got fairly respectable jobs bc they were intelligent and hardworking and more opportunities were coming for ppl of their status at that time
worked various odd/weird jobs
both he and his bro fought in wwi, his bro died, he was wounded but survived
obv wwi + grief + his injury did really fun things for his psyche
tried to go home afterwards but was pr ‘shell-shocked’ and just couldn’t handle it so he went back out to join up w various mercenary corps etc
was in poland w these guys when they came upon a boginki - the ppl in his corp kept being bodysnatched and replaced with changelings
eventually, rick and another two guys realized what was happening and that the creatures were coming for them
they fought the changelings and the boginki
only rick and one of the other guys survived
they ran to the nearest village looking for help for the injured third one but the village was terrified by the boginki and wouldn’t let any strangers in, afraid it was a trick, and the guy ended up dying
after they left poland, no one would believe them, not even rick’s sister who believed that this was all a wild reaction to their brother’s death and all the things he’d seen
she tried to get him help meanwhile his friend became convinced they hadn’t seen anything and decided to drink himself to death
Beyond that, I’m not 100% sure how things worked out, but my general thought is that he met up w some other hunters (possibly gresham hunter(s)) and one thing led to another and now he’s here. His sister may even have tried to get him help and he may have been in a fun post-victorian psych ward *thumbs up*
In any case, I do think his relationship - and whether Michael would know - all depend on how long Rick’s known him???? Like, if their bff-ery is newer, I think Rick is less likely to breach the subject bc 1) Michael might think he’s crazy and frankly Rick is over dealing w that hahah 2) he wants to keep Michael safe and considers ~knowing about the spn to be unsafe. However, if he’s known him longer, there was def a point where Rick was being all OMG LOOK OUT THERE ARE SOME FREAKISH SPN CREATURES OUT THERE ALOS THEYRE REPLACING MY FRIENDS HERE OMG WTF WE NEED TO KILL THEM ALL and wouldn’t shut uP about it etc so obv if Michael knew him back then, he’d know hahah In between these times, there was also a period where he would’ve been reticent about it right up until he got to know you ~super well and then in a leap of faith he might tell you...so there’s worlds of potential on this one hahaha
So all of this brings me to the question...How long do you think they’ve known each other?
NAYWAY, I def feel like Rick kinda feels him on this bc I feel like 95% of the time, Rick’s super chill but then he has things that FLIP HIS KILLER SWITCH and he looses his temper so I feel like Rick knows pr well how to handle that and it gives him some v real insights. Alos! My main point about his backstory was acTUAlly that they’ve boTH lost ppl horribly and I actually feel like in Rick’s case, at least, that would be a big bonding thing yknow like ~someone else who feels this pain~ sort of dealio?????????? Like, Rick isn’t great at sharing hahaha so someone just sort of knowing what it’s like without him having to say or explain is huGEEEE esp bc he can’t really get things off his chest?????? if I’m making sense????? hahaha
