Keeping yourselves on "5"
‘she/he is 10 out of 10…’ ...'but',
cool/cute, handsome/pretty, red/green/beige flags, toxic/healthy, career, wealth, jobs, relationships, typing and other countless standards and labels we find in our social media.
Oh, how social standards have been blurred in our world today.
With all these unstandardised standards, how far would you recognise your own self-appraisal? and how far would you be willing to acknowledge your unconscious appraisal to others? along with their possible bias and false judgement?

Rating something has always been an indispensable part of our perception. In fact, it shows how we actually have some values we uphold; to recognise good and bad things, at least. Hence, going into complete abstinence from this 'making levels out of everyone including ourselves', might be harder than you think.
which makes our current situation seems worse because every values and standard is mixed up. There is no a rightful '9' since it can also be a '4' for others. Red flags might be greens for colorblinds, and even medicine could become toxin and poison for healthy people.
Therefore, dear, no wonder you are confused.
But at the same time, it just makes it much more important to have your own solid measurement, as your personal filter, based on your values. And yes, we are installed with the capability to define that, at least, reflect on that.
What is a 'good' person for you? what is a 'bad' person? What is "0" for you? and what is "10"?
Now yeah, when your moral compass is crooked, these will also be ill-defined.
and this is where your responsibility to 'learn' comes in. learn from mistakes, learn from others, learn from your worst relationship, learn the worst consequence and failure you've ever had, learn from your natural response; your fight or flight, your basic emotion; fear and sadness. Learn from your lowest point.
and this is where you might be getting your definition of "0", of yourself, at least.
At the same time, yep, we can have a utopic idea of a 10, of course. After all, escaping to an idealised perfection, is one way to cope from reality.
But you wanna make sure you have more things to take other than that. You might also want to take notes from the most satisfying moments you've ever had; your happiness and fun, serenity (if you ever had one), your pride, your highest point. Also, from the things you consider precious, important, substantial, as well as the things you respect, are grateful for, and acknowledge from others.
Because being grounded is a more possible way for us to keep going up. And getting a huge, limitless gap between your "0" and "10", gonna limit you from that instead. It would always make you feel stuck on a "2".

Now, what does it mean to keep it on "5"? Why five?
Well, it comes from none other than the simple idea of breaking things into smaller part,
and the common principle of making sure you have room to grow, while acknowledging your progress and struggle. Humility and confidence.
Imagine your long measurement of standard from "0" and "10", try to break it smaller based on your current position. Would you say you're still compeletely on "0"? what is the most possible "10" we can achieve right now?
If you say you're on "3" or "4", what can we do to get into "5", at least?
If you say you're working on "8" or "9", that's amazing! Congrats, now let's change the scale. Raise your definition of both your "10" and "0".
Be careful of getting stuck when you feel satisfied with more than five.
Raising our ten keeps us progressing. But why also the zero?
Because, dear, our struggle and progress are not linear.
We have a natural tendency for inconsistencies, for going back and forth, for escaping out of fear rejection, or even just getting bombarded with falls and stones.
Then, you wanna make sure that your lowest point is also raised from before. Because then you're allowing yourself to fall while also saving yourself from taking a deep pitfall without return.
Now, since you raise them, you have a new definition of '5', and a different room and scale to grow and fall, while still keeping your progress on track; your values and selves.

And once in a while, take your bird view.
Recognise the long journey you've taken, as well as the longer journey ahead.
Recognise your pattern. That is where you might find yourself whenever you get lost of it.
Then, as we go into respecting every journey we have, we might also respecting other's journey too, despite any appraisal and personal values we hold.
As they might be a "5" on our standard, but is actually on a "7" on their current personal scale. They might also possibly unexpectedly go higher than that, as they go faster in raising their scale.
As they might be a 10 of our standard, but also get the possibility of falling into a '1' without us knowing.
or just, maybe, you know,
Our long original measurement are completely different from the start. We develop them from vastly different values.
Then, there is no point in any comparison or rating right? there is no point in getting affected or confused by their standard too.
