Happy Birthday LeeHongBin!âĄ
â Â contradictions.
ââPâŚla..n..?ââ he wasnât fully understanding the situation and before he could even question anything a loud crash was heard, the sound of people rushing inside the room and Namjoon simply crying out. Too many things were happening for him to actually process what was going on so he simply stood silent (honestly in this case it was the best thing to do). With what little consciousness he had left he used it to simply listen at his surroundings, people rushing back outside and someone apparently..calling an ambulance? Was Namjoon for real? Seconds later he found himself groaning as he was suddenly picked up and from what little he could guess he was being carried outside.
Kyungwonâs face had been pressed against the youngers chest, halflidded eyes simply staring blankly during the whole time. With each taken breath he could smell little bits of Namjoonâs scent, for some reason the whole embrace and the scent beginning to calm him down enough for him to let his eyes fall close again. He was just so..tired. So tired and so exhausted that right now he just wanted to sleep, it wasnât like they would be any time back to his apartment anyway so he might as well doze off. What was the point of staying awake anyway? It wasnât like he could actually speak, every word heâd mutter out would only end up being broken. Instead of just staring blanky in silence he might as well take this time to sleep and hopefully the rest would restore some of his strenght and energy back.
Had he passed out? Or did he simply fall asleep? He had no idea at all, the only thing he could remember was Namjoon placing him on the back seats and now they were already at his apartment with him once again being carried in the youngers arm, he must have dozed off once again (or he had simply blacked out  again, he just couldnât tell right now) because now he was already in his bed, comfortably cuddled up and wrapped into warm blankets. There was finally nothing but warmth surrounding his previous cold body and the model could finally breathe (somewhat) properly without feeling any sort of frozen daggers stabbing his chest. Kyungwon took all the time he had to warm himself up inside the blankets but even if his energy was slowly building up and even if his strenght was slowly coming back, there was still a sharp pain in his neck that would sting with each inhale heâd take.
Heavy eyelids once again made him close his eyes comfortably enjoying the warmth that was now surrounding him, still shaky hands gripping onto the warm fabric as he slowly made himself roll to the side earning a small âmfâ sort of sound from him as he did so.
It was then that he felt something jump on the bed and beginning to simply run in circles making him slowly open his eyes and blink, the sight of his beloved familiar welcoming him awake. It was clear that Princess was highly worried and was completely clueless of what was happening, tiny paws beginning tap against the blanket that was wrapped around him and her snout pressing gently against his face to nuzzle him. There was never any sort of case like this where Kyungwon would be frozen nearly to death, but even with the small bit of cold heâd feel the fox would always curl up underneath his chin , her tail wrapping around the manâs neck as a source of warmth and that was exactly what was she trying to do right now, though instead she laid down besides his head with her own gently rested ontop of his small whining sounds coming from the small animal.
The action alone earned a faint smile from Kyungwon,it didnât matter to him what anyone would have to say about his familiar, he didnât care if she looked like a âchiauauaâ. He didnât care if she was the size of an âovergrownâ rat. He could care even less if people were grossed out by the amount of affection he would show towards the animal, he simply loved her to bits and she was the most precious thing to him. Kyungwon knew that he was a big bother, he knew that he was extreamly over dramatic about his appereance, and he knew that he was completely obsessed with his looks as well as how crazily OCD heâd grown over a simple scratch on his skin. But Princess was always there to make him feel better, she didnât care how small and pathetic the wound would look, she didnât care how dramatic Kyungwon would be about the smallest things. Sheâd still heal him (although many times the model could swear that he had heard the animal sigh at him and shake her head) and sheâd still comfort him afterwards. He simply loved that fox to pieces and right now she was giving him even more reasons of why he treasured her so much.
Speaking was still difficult for him right now but no words were needed because the familiar was already working on healing him (as much as she could do) and the action had given him enough strenght to raise his hand up and gently pet her golden furr in gratitude.
Bit by bit his consciousness restored, and while he still just couldnât sit himself up and just walk around the apartment, he had enough strenght to move and fix his position in bed.
ââIâm so happy to see you, you have no ideaâŚââ his words finally made sense despite the still slightly shaky tone.
Perhaps this was why at the end he was so scared of dying, it did sound peaceful at first to simply let go and leave forever, but it was only now that he began to think.
What on Earth would happen to her if heâd actually die?
What would she do without him?
Who would end up taking her?
What if her next owner would only end up being abusive and disgusting towards her?
But most of all.
What would he do without her?
He was someone who would only care about himself, a big ass Ego that would make just anyone want to punch him across the face, so careless and focused on himself that heâd harm his own partner so heâd get the spot. But when it came to Princess he was a completely other person, loving and protective possibly the only living creature that heâd genuinely show affection towards it, because honestly speaking, he was harsh and gruesome even towards himself.
ââI thought Iâd never see you again..ah donât do that..come on..ââ the man began to laugh faintly as his beloved fox began to lick his face, in other situationâs heâd whine and call it gross but right now he just needed any sort of comfort that his familiar was giving him. Moments later the door of the bedroom had opened again, making him raise his eyes only to see Namjoon walk in.
And for once Kyungwon was frozen in place unsure of what to do or what to reply. Ofcourse there was anger boiling up  inside of him, he was upset and pissed off about what had happend but at the same time he was justâŚupset.
He couldnât tell wether he was upset about the fact that Namjoon out of everyone possible had nearly ended his life, he couldnât tell if it was because of the thought that the younger was actually over him to the point he could actually kill him nor could he tell if he was simply upset because it was wellâŚNamjoon.
His brown orbs lowered this time keeping his face hidden into Princessâ furr to cover himself up in shame, the elder stood silent for quite some time before he finally spoke up for a reply. ââI..think I can..yeah..ââhe had simply murmured in response to the first question while the second one was much much harder to answer and think of a proper reply.
âââŚâŚâŚI canât tell if Iâm upset about you humiliating me or about the fact that youâd actuallyâŚkill me..ââ
Why was it even a shock anyway? After everything that he had done and after all the things he had said, why would it even be a surprsie that his ex lover wouldnât hesitate on nearly killing him? Why was it even such a big thing when during that night he was so ready to kill Namjoon himself?
ââMy mindset was always âOh heâd never do that anywayâ so I never really cared about consequences..but damnâŚhahahâŚ.shit. I guess youâd actually do that. Why am I surprised? I donât even know because moments before I nearly killed you myself. So I really donât even know why Iâm soâŚshocked? Ah what is this shit even..Just give me the tea.ââ
Kyungwon was not the only one that had been shocked by the actions of the younger. Not in his darkest dreams had he thought of himself to be capable of ending the modelâs life, and yet here he was, hardly having escaped the attack that had been caused by Namjoonâs lack of self control.
Maybe, he should use the opportunity and make Kyungwon believe that this was his very last warning; to let him know that indeed Namjoon did not care whether or not he was still breathing. Maybe, that was the perfect opportunity to take revenge on the elder for all that he had said and done. Maybe, maybe, maybe⌠If only he didnât feel so horribly guilty for all that had happened, and if only he wasnât so afraid to lose Kyungwon completely.
A stupid feeling, to be honest. After all, had Kyungwon ever truly been on his side? Had he ever really cared? What exactly was it that he had lost after their break up? They hadnât seen each other in two years (at least, not counting the pictures that had greeted him from the magazines), and the one time that they did meet, Kyungwon had done his uttermost best to remind him of just how little he had cared about Namjoon. Would it really be that bad to just let him die?
(Yes, it would be.)
A long silence was what followed, the younger simply at a loss for words. What did you tell to the person whose life you had just almost taken away? What did you tell the person you once fell asleep to every single night? What on earth was he supposed to answer to the (rhetorical) questions of the model?
Instead of speaking, Namjoon opted to keep quiet for a little bit longer, extending his arms to hand over the blazing hot cup of tea towards the model. The younger didnât quite understand why Kyungwon simply continued to ramble, without really lashing out at him. Was he, perhaps, stalling and trying to keep him here as long as he possibly could while he was regaining strength? Would he attack the second he felt powerful enough to do so? Of course, there was a possibility he would, and yet Namjoon hadnât even bothered to move away. Regardless of whether or not Kyungwon had deserved this, it was still Namjoonâs fault that he had ended up in this positionâand as much as he was supposed to hate him, this was really the last thing he wanted.
âKyungwon-ah..â The word had left his lips in a whisper, a new silence following suite. Somehow, knowing that Kyungwon had been shocked by his outburst as well was the worst part of it all. After all that they had been through, the elder should have known that he wasnât the kind of person to give up without a fightâbut this was more than just that. Namjoon knew less than his ex lover was willing to admit, and yet he knew enough to know that Kyungwon really was convinced that Namjoon wouldnât harm him that badly.
Heaving a soft sigh, Namjoon pulled his legs up to his chest, resting his chin on top of his knees. He didnât really want to look the model in the eyes, didnât want to be confronted with whatever was hidden in deep brown colour of them. In the end, it was so much easier to ignore your feelings when you didnât have to be confronted with them.
But how to explain? Did he really want to explain? Did he need to? Wasnât it as if he was admitting defeat, in a way? Not often did it happen that Park Namjoon was left speechless, but it seemed that hardly a single word was able to make way past the photographerâs throat. So much for his confidence.
âI..â he started, still debating on whether or not to come clean. It was wiser not to, he knew, and yet the words came spilling within seconds after that. âI didnât really plan on killing you, I didnât want to go that far. I just.. I lost control. Not that you didnât deserve it after all that had happened but.. I wasnât going to, not really. I wouldnât want you toââ
Too much. Namjoon quickly cut himself off, shaking his head at his own stupidity. He shouldnât be here apologizing to Kyungwon, not now. Not even when he felt guiltier than heâd ever done before.
Minutes passed, and finally Namjoon had grown the guts to look up at Kyungwon again, his eyes void of any kind of emotion. âI donât know why you didnât expect it, either. You should have. I should have.â It seemed his mask had taken over again, his attitude changing more than ever; it was only seconds later that it melted down once more. ââŚbut I couldnât do it. I donât know why. I should be able to, you really do deserve it, Iâve got enough reasons to want you dead.â Harsh words mixed with fear and pain, his eyes reflecting exactly that. âBut I couldnât, believe me. If I could, you wouldnât be here right now. I wouldnât be sitting here right now.â
He probably shouldnât be speaking such truths; should be keeping more to himself. Not only because Kyungwon deserved to be left in the dark, but also because his words could turn against him as soon as the elder had completely regained his strength. After all, you never knew what the pyrokinetic would be going to do next.
âJust drink the tea,â he eventually ordered, cautious eyes back to following the elderâs every movement. âItâll help you warm up betterâand donât worry about being found out, I made sure the cameras werenât working. Nobody will ever know a thing.â And if they did, it was Namjoon that was going to be found out. Only heaven knew he shouldâve been far more careful and controlled about his actions.
â Â contradictions.
Kyungwon was left grimacing on the ground, every single breath, every single gulp feeling as if he had nails down his airways scratching at the flesh and he still felt like gagging with each inhale heâd take. The oxygen that would now get to his brain instead of making him feel better and give him his full consciousness back made him feel sick instead, almost as if he was going to throw up. It was a first for him, possibly the first time that the model was left in such a state. Not only by the younger and their previous every day arguments and fights but in general really.Â
A headache was what followed afterwards because ofcourse it wasnât like he haâd been already struggling enough between burning coughs and a numb body. There was just no energy for him to even bother opening his eyes, even what little heâd manage to try and speak he quickly decided to stay quiet because there was just no use when his words would end up sounding nothing more but like mere whispers and the sentence wouldnât even make any sense at all. His consciousness wasnât exactly back, he was present yes. He could hear some things here and there but at the same time he still had no control over his body and the things he could hear sounded just so..distant and faint. It was the same sound as when youâd leave your phone open and leave it on the table with the other party still talking, that was why it was so hard for him to actually focus on what Namjoon was trying to say. Even what he could understand didnât exactly get to him, they were nothing more but empty words that he couldnât even understand their meanings and what the younger had been trying to say, kinda like when youâre reading a book so quickly that you already forgot what it was about.
And then something cold was pressed against his lips, the feeling making him whine out loudly and suddenly panic with his head shaking from side to side furiously followed by what would have been a gasp. With what little comfort he had previously found in the small amount of warmth that was given to him made him completely freak out the moment heâd feel the frozen object against him completely oblivious about his surroundings due to being unable to properly open his eyes yet.
A moment of panic was what caught him, frightened that he might get once again devoured by the iced cold possibly killing him for real this time. It was odd wasnât it? How quickly the human mind would change, going from strong and prideful to wishing to dieâŚand later being frightened by the thought that it could be his end.
His hand finally moved, shakingly reaching to cling onto the warm fabric that was wrapped around his frame as heâd cough out once again the burning feeling inside his throat never ceasing making him feel like he was going to throw up once again and with that thought in mind he threw his head to the side clearly not wanting to end up puking over himself the moment those kind of sounds would end up leaving his lips, the sound of him spluttering and gasping echoing over the iced walls surrounding him.
It took him whole minutes to finally calm down, breathing with wheezing sounds whenever heâd inhale. It was a first for Kyungwon but he could easly tell that those werenât just his gagging reflexes, he nearly had an anxiety attack just by the simple freezing touch on his skin. Was it due to fear of the cold? Or was it because right now he was completely frightened by the idea that Namjoon could just choke him once again and leave him to die? The spoken words of the younger didnât exactly help â Thatâs not true, I wouldnât really do it! It was a mistake! â was something that he could hear clearly but it didnât exactly get through him, he could tell what the words were but his brain just didnât manage to elaborate them properly, explaining him the actual meaning behind them.
Kyungwon was just stuck,he was simply stuck there laying on the..ground? Was it the ground? It was then that he began to question his position, the warmth that he was feeling around his body and why did his upper body feel like it was propped up on something? Not only that but there was something else that was beginning to bother his mind, he could feel something going on, something moving and toying with the strands of his hair. The feeling felt highly familiar but so unreal and completely off, it felt comforting but somehow at the same time it made his chest tighten and feel as if someone was pressing hard against it.
Moments of silence followed once again and he couldnât tell what exactly was he feeling right now. Was it comfort? Was it fear? Was he upset? Was he even okay right now?
Just two seconds ago he managed to move his hand and his head yet now every movement felt once again like a forced one, like he had to force himself and his muscles to even just make him simply twitch.
ââNamâŚjoo..n..ââ he spoke up, his words much much clearer and cleaner this time but still somewhat broken and his tone was still soâŚdull. ââItâŚhuâŚrâŚt..s..ââ Kyungwon was known to always deny everything, someone whoâd hide his feelings and would never dare to admit about feeling hurt or upset about certain things. The only pain he was allowed to show was when heâd scratch his skin or cause a few bruises that his familiar would later quickly heal it up for him. He was allowed to admit to it at those moments because his OCD towards his image was far too strong to be ignored, a simple small scratch was enough to drive him insane and heâd panic untill heâd finally see it disappear.
But this time, he couldnât just pretend like nothing had happend, he couldnât pretend that he wasnât feeling any sort of pain when it was very clear that it was  hard for him to breathe even if the previous choking pressure was gone, it felt as if someone had twisted his airways.Â
ââIâm..sâŚoâŚco..lâŚdâŚcaâŚn..tâŚ.mo..vâŚe..ââ the models voice was shaky and so faint, his trembling hand that was previously clinging onto the fabric now reaching up to grip at the youngers wrist, breathing in with a wheezing sound once again as he spoke ââNaâŚmj..ooâŚnâŚit hu..rt..sâŚt.oâŚbre..a.t..hâŚeâŚââ
âYouâre going to be fine, itâs all over. Weâll bring you home and Princess will be waiting for you, and everything will be the way it was before.â
Hearing that made him force his eyes open atleast halfway, his grip on the others wrist tightening as he spoke up ââPriâŚn..ce..ssâŚta..k..e..me..t..oâŚhe..rââ if there was someone that could actually heal him up it was her, even if she was able to work with smaller things he was sure that she could fix this up as well. Atleast that was what he hoped for because right now, he so desperately needed atleast the smalles bit of help, just her making it easier for him to breath was enough because fuck did it hurt to do that right now and this cold air wasnât of any help at all.
For a moment he stood silent, hazy and dark eyes lazily staring up at the younger before he spoke up again ââI..mâŚsâŚ..soâŚâŚso..râŚso..ââ the word was such a complicated thing to say and honestly it made him feel sick to his stomach âââŚrr..y..ââ
It was his fault, it was all his fault. If he hadnât lost control, if he had been strong enough not to give in to Kyungwonâs words, if he had simply ignored him right from the start, none of this would have ever happened. Kyungwon would be home, Namjoon would be working on some pictures and everything would be exactly the way it had been the past few years. Maybe that wasnât perfect, but it was better than the situation at hand. A lot better.
Even if the elder had regained consciousness, it seemed that his condition hadnât improved a single bit. In fact, it was even harder to watch him struggle than it had been to watch him passed out. Sure, it was more than just a relief knowing that he hadnât actually killed his ex lover, but at least he had been peaceful minutes ago. Now, he looked like more of a wreck than Namjoon had ever witnessed before.
Perhaps he should have been proud of his achievements, but the sad reality was that he was anything but that. As soon as Kyungwon started panicking, the iced cup was pulled away from his face again, hushed sounds falling from the youngerâs lips. âItâs alright, itâs alright.. Iâll get you a proper cup soon.â
âNamjoon, it hurts. It hurts to breathe. Iâm so cold..â
Suddenly, and for the first time in forever, he absolutely despised his own powers. Nothing he could do was going to be able to make Kyungwon feel better. Nothing could warm him up, nothing was going to make the pain go away. All he could do was freeze and unfreeze, but warm someone up? Definitely not. The only solution was to get him out of the building as soon as he possibly could. âShh,â he soothed, his hand slowly caressing his cold cheeks, âI know, I know. Iâll make it stop, I promise.â
A soft smile carved its way across his face, hands still gliding across Kyungwonâs cheekbones. His mind was spinning as it tried to come up with a proper solution to get out of this place, slowly starting to come up with a plan. A risky one, definitely, but the only one that had any chance of succeeding at all.
And then Kyungwon spoke up again, broken, yet very clear. Words he would have never expected ever to hear from the model. Not in the past, not in the present, and most certainly not after what had just happened. Heâd expect for Kyungwon to curse at him, to make the entire situation even more miserable if he could.. and yet all there was to hear was an apology.
An apology.
If the shock hadnât been obvious enough on his face, the scoff that passed his lips certainly would be. Namjoon simply didnât know how to respond to the words, tears pricking at his eyes as he tried not to let them spill. Just a few simple words, and yet it seemed as if they changed everything. As if a weight was lifted from his shoulders, no matter the situation. There had been no need for Kyungwon to speak those words, no need to burden himself only to apologise.
And yet he had.
Namjoon's next move came completely without thinking, dark eyes still glazed with tears when he leaned in to press a soft kiss against Kyungwonâs forehead. He was probably going to get killed for his actions, but none of that really mattered in the moment. All he wanted was to make Kyungwon feel better again, no matter what the cost.
Perhaps he didnât realise exactly how dangerous those words had been.
âIâm sorry, too,â he whispered, his arm moving to rest over his chest. âIâm going to get you out of here, back to Princessâbut you have to promise me to work with me, alright? Itâs going to be a bit risky.. just donât move.â
Slowly, but gradually, the ice in the room had started to melt. Namjoon did have a plan, but itâd mean he would have to be extremely focused. Just one mistake and it could all end on a very bad note for them.
Drip,Â
       drip,Â
              drip.
Somehow, the sound of the melting ice had put him on edge, wary eyes staring at the ice covering the doors. Timing was very important with the situation they were in, and if he would end up being too late.. He didnât know, didnât want to know, what would happen then.
When finally the guards were about to break through, the photographer moved his hands to send a huge ice cube right through the window. The glass shattered into a thousand pieces across the ice, a loud thud sounding from the other side of the window. Witchcraft was known to exist to the human population, their only problem was that they would never know exactly who those witches were. That meant that if he played his part well enough, they would never find out about their background.
Luckily, Namjoonâs timing had been perfect. The moment the ice broke through the window and his arms had lowered again was the exact moment the guards broke through the door. Suddenly, his watery eyes seemed to become a blessing, his hand frantically pointing at the broken window.
âOver there!â he called out, voice trembling as he spoke (perhaps he was a bit less of a terrible liar than certain people would agree to). âThey went over there, please, please get them! Call 911, I need to get my friend to the hospital!â
Exactly as planned, security had moved out again immediately, leaving only one of them behind to call an ambulance. Not that Namjoon was planning on taking it, though. Oh, not ever. There were other ways, better ways, to bring Kyungwon back to health. Strong arms made their way around the modelâs body, lifting him up into the air and holding him safely to his chest. âIâll take him to the ambulance as soon as it gets here,â he reassured the guard, feet moving quickly beneath him while he headed towards the exit. There was no time to waste in the building; sooner or later theyâd come back to check the (now flooded) hallways, and he didnât have any time left to come up with a new story.
With Kyungwon held tightly in his arms, Namjoon made his way to his car, laying down the elder on the backseat. âWeâll be home soon, donât worry, itâs going to be alright.â The words fell from his lips easily as he moved towards the driverâs seat, not even bothering to secure himself.
No time to waste, no time to waste.
The car raced away from the parking spot only seconds after, headed straight to Kyungwonâs apartment (good thing for him, he knew exactly where that was). It wasnât a long drive, one of the few things he didnât worry about at the moment. What troubled him most was that he didnât know how to fix Kyungwon again. Sure, he wasnât the first person to suffer from the youngerâs chokehold, but he was definitely one of the first he hadnât meant to hurt, let alone almost kill. Exactly how did you treat someone who was still suffering from those wounds? For now, all that he knew for sure was that the least thing he could do was keep him warm until he was able to do so with his own powers (whenever that may be).
Once the car had been parked again, Namjoon wasted no time in getting out of it and carrying Kyungwon with him, fishing the keys to the apartment right from his pockets. âWeâre home,â he had told the model, not sure if heâd be able to register the environment by himself just yet, even less realising how he had just called the place their home.
Namjoon made sure to be careful when he finally laid Kyungwon down on his own bed again, taking up the spot right next to him. âIâm going to have to take off your pants,â he warned, âtheyâre still soaking wet, youâre never going to warm up if you keep them on.â There was no time spent waiting for his answer, Namjoonâs fingers already working their way down the buttons and zipper of the fabric. It was quite a struggle to take off the tight jeans in this state, but he did manage, rushing off to grab a towel and dry the maleâs bare legs. In any other situation, he wouldâve been far too distracted to even focus on drying him, but right now it was the only thing that mattered before he had him all wrapped up in thick blankets.
âIâll go and get you some tea, alright?â He told the other, placing his hand against Kyungwonâs forehead to check his temperature. Exactly why he did it, he was unsure of (heâd never been good with estimating these things), but whatever it was he felt, he was quite convinced that it wasnât a good thing. âAnd Princess. Iâll take her too.â
And with those words, he left the room, only to return again five minutes later. Princess had been nowhere to be found, but perhaps he shouldâve already guessed that the little animal would have found Kyungwon on her own. After all, familiars were so much more than regular pets.
âThink youâll manage to drink by yourself?â Namjoon asked as he sat back down on the edge again, worried eyes scanning the modelâs face. âAre you.. okay?â
â Â contradictions.
ââHow much do you love me?ââ
ââStop pushing your luck there Namjoon.ââÂ
The elder scoffed now pressing his hand against the others face to push him off ââI told you that I love you and thats all youâre getting for today.ââ was his simple response that only made the cryokinetic whine. ââWhat I can say is that you defineatly love me too much to kill me. Thats for sure.ââ with a sheepish smirk Kyungwon found himself sliding his fingertips through Namjoonâs hair, tugging at one of the strands teasingly.
ââOw! Yah! Hyung!ââÂ
      ââSorry my hand slipped.ââ
               ââYou did it on purpose.ââ
                          ââMaybe.ââ the pyrokintic simply laughed.
There was nothing but a white flash in Kyungwonâs mind, he felt so peaceful right now  despite the previous struggles and high anxieties. Was this it? Was this how one would feel once dead? Peaceful with a blank mind far away from any harm. His body that was previously so cold and so painfully swollen now felt as light as a feather. If this was what death felt like thenâŚheâd like to never be woken up ever again.
However there were faint memories that kept torturing him, maybe that was the only thing that made him grimace. Could it be that this wasnât heave but it was hell? Did hell really exist? Was his punishment that of seeing every single scene from his past to torture him with continuous memories that he should have long erased, memories and scenes that he wasnât supposed to care about. Why was hell so peaceful yet at the same time..soâŚfrustrating and uneasy. Something didnât seem right, ofcourse heâd expect to end in hell with everything that he had done. He was far from being a saint and possibly the only good deeds that he had done were all to himself which once again were nothing but sins.
Infact, Kyungwon was nothing but a walking sin and there was no place for him in Heaven. Life would be far too easy for him if heâd sin during his whole life and later in the afterlife heâd feel nothing but endless peace.
HuhâŚwhat was..that?Â
Kyungwon could hear a faint voice in the background but for a long time he couldnât understand what it was saying nor to who did it belong. That voice began to get louder and bit by bit he could slowly recognize the tone and the sound of it. Was itâŚwas it Namjoon..? Still it was difficult for him to actually understand the said words as they ended up sounding like nothing more but distant murmurs. Suddenly he could feel a painful cold hit him,a cold that he thought was finally long gone, it completely devoured his body all at once and he swore he could feel his breath hitch and once that happend he could feel his throat burn followed by a stinging pain. It was like his consciousness was slowly coming back and the adrenaline that took over his body minutes ago was slowly dying down making everything that he had felt moments ago hit him like a train.
Now he could clearly hear the voice, it was Namjoon calling out to him, no, begging him to wake up. Did this mean that he wasnât actuallyâŚdead? Despite the freezing cold he suddenly felt something warm and soft being wrapped around his body and if he could he would have clung onto it and snuggled against it desperately as it was the only source of warmth that he had been able to recieve during these long minutes and it was just so comforting to him. Whatever it was he felt so thankful for it that he swore he could have felt his tears stream down his cheeks once again. A pathetic scene for sure, but after being frozen, soaked wet and trapped inside an iced hell he really needed it and it felt just so nice. Ofcourse his body was still shaking because he could tell that his body was still trapped inside the cold but that little bit of warmth was enough to make him feel better.
Kyungwon was stuck between questioning if he was dead and maybe God decided to have mercy on his soul so he gave him little bits of comfort but still decided to banish him with images from the past to haunt his mind endlessly and eternal cold. But none of that made sense, not anymore atleast. There was Namjoonâs voice who kept calling out to him, talking to him even as if he was simply having a plain angry conversation, his heartbeat was faint but he could hear that very clearly as well. But what was even more frightening that made him face reality was how badly his neck and throat began to ache, at first he questioned if maybe the scene was simply a mental image, an illusion due to him slowly growing weak as he was being devoured by the cold, but the stinging and burning pain he could feel everytime heâd take in a small breath made it very very clear that everything that had happend was real.
Very real.
He did almost die.
He was on the verge of meeting his demise.
Namjoon really did choke him nearly to death.
Karma did smack him in the face.
And life truly did just laugh at his misery.
All of a sudden he felt a shock, making him cough out loudly spluttering and gasping as he felt like there was a knot inside his throat making it really hard for him to gain his breath. There were faint whines that could be heard between each cough and gag, because breathing right now seemed like a complete torture. Between frozen air that would stab his lungs and the aching pain where his airways were previously squeezed he just didnât know which was worse and honestly, right now he truly wished that he would have actually died.
The model didnât dare to open up his eyes, he didnât have the forse to do so anyway as his body still felt completely numb and no matter how much heâd try no muscle would move, no hand movements were made and his lips just wouldnât move to let him speak. Finally they parted but the only sound heâd manage to make was nothing more but the sound of a harsh and raspy inhale the gagging noise still not coming to a stop.
Once, twice, and even three times he tried to speak but simply no words could come out. It was nothing more but uncomprensive sounds that would come past his lips that for now he had just given up focused instead on trying to breathe through his mouth.
Heavy and fast breathes could be heard, his chest painfully raising with each one.Not only was breathing painful and a torture, talking was highly difficult as well because with each sound that was made it felt like someone was cutting at Kyungwonâs airways and the back of his throat.
ââIâŚtakeâŚevrthin..gâŚ.bah..kcâŚ.ââÂ
He muttered in a highly shaky tone that sounded as if he had been forcing himself to speak
âââŚyou reaâŚhly..who..ul..dâŚkhi..llâŚm..eâŚAhah..haâŚââ
The moment he tried to laugh Kyungwon only ended up coughing loudly once again his eyes squeezing tightly making it clear that even just that  made him want to just be dead.
And currently the only thing he could think wasâŚthe younger was no longer afraid of losing him and for some reason that thought alone made his current situation worse.
His body ached, his throat ached, but somehow those werenât what were making Kyungwon struggle right now.
Suddenly, the seconds felt like hours. Painfully slow, long hours. Time could be your friend or your enemy, and in this case, time was most definitely his enemy. There was no way to calm his frightened heart, the fear too strong for him to soothe himself.
Tic toc, tic toc, tic toc. Minutes passed, and still no sign of life from Kim Kyungwon. The youngerâs movements, however, never once ceased. Red locks of hair were curled neatly around his fingertips (he was still amazed by how soft the elderâs hair was after all the dyeing), his free hand tracing figures against beautifully tanned skin. If he could, heâd be doing this forever. It was a thought that had suddenly popped into his mind, and somehow refused to get back out again. Not that he cared much, Namjoon. At this point he didnât really care for anything at all. The only thing he wanted was for Kyungwon to wake up and to tell him he had just been fooling around. (Ha! What a joke!)
But that moment didnât come, and the longer he waited, the worse the future seemed to become.
Oh, he had thought about this moment quite a lot before. It wasnât the first time Kyungwon had tried to push all of his buttons, but it was the first time that he had actually managed to shove him over the edge. Their breakup had inflicted a certain kind of pain on him that he had been unable to properly deal with. More victims had fallen, his house had turned into a messâbut other than that, all of the pain and the anger had been bottled up inside. And that, he knew, was the most dangerous place to hide your feelings.
âYou canât die here, asshole,â he repeated, his nails gently scratching against his scalp. âI wonât have anyone worthy left to fight with. You need to fight with me, who else is gonna form any kind of competition?â
A soft sigh escaped his lips, eyes falling shut as some sort of protection. Protection against his own pain: if he couldnât see the situation around him, he wouldnât have to think about it, right?
Wrong.
The second he closed his eyes, it all came back to him times tenfold, leaving him to be panting in his spot. Well done Namjoon, you really did fuck up this time. Perhaps there was no other solution than calling a hospital and melting everything down. After all, if he could save Kyungwonâs life that way, itâd be worth it, right? Heâd probably end up in jail himself, but was that really worse than losing the elder completely? Because of his own stupid mistake and lack of self control? The truth was that it wasnât, and the more he thought about it, the more that truth scared him.
âI donât know what it is with you..â The mumbling of words was not aimed at anyone in particular, but Namjoon felt as if heâd go crazy if he wouldnât speak up. The situation was killing him, and the horrible silence only made everything worse. âThis wasnâtâ'
Unexpectedly, the loud coughing and spluttering was what interrupted his own words, his eyes flashing wide open. His movements stilled, fearful eyes locked on the elderâs face. For the first few seconds, he didnât even dare to move or even breathe.
Kyungwon was alive. He was alive! That thought alone was enough to keep him occupied for a while, tears burning in his eyes. It didnât matter if Kyungwon was going to attack him the moment he regained his strength, it all didnât matter. He was alive, and that was all that Namjoon had wanted.
âYouâre awake..â he mumbled in a whisper, pale thumbs sliding across the manâs cheeks. âWhat the hell took you so long?!â He hadnât wanted to, but he couldnât help the smile that was threatening to split across his face. âYou stupid, stupid.. Oh?â
Ragged words broke his own sentence once again, but it took a while before Namjoon understood what the elder was trying to say. When he did manage, however, the words hit him like a bomb.
âNo,â he instantly spoke, forgetting all about their previous fights for the time being. It would have been the best moment to silence Kyungwon once and for all, to put and end to his cockinessâbut the words were so broken, and the guilt still so strong that he simply couldnât do it. Hell, not even the underlying meaning of those words seemed to get through to him.
âThatâs not true, I wouldnât really do it! It was a mistake!â The words were defensive, voice trembling as he spoke. Whatever happened, he did not want for Kyungwon to really feel that way, not ever. He knew he should be stronger than that, he shouldnât have mercy on Kyungwon just because he was weak right now. He knew very well that the model wouldnât have been as worried if the roles had been reversed, but none of that really mattered at that point.
A ball of ice appeared in his hands soon after, his left hand moving towards the top of it to melt down the middle. âHere, drink,â the younger urged, holding the makeshift cup against Kyungwonâs lips. âDrink up, Iâm going to get you out of here.â
Once again, his free hand moved towards the maleâs hair, soothingly running his fingertips through the strands. âYouâre going to be fine, itâs all over. Weâll bring you home and Princess will be waiting for you, and everything will be the way it was before.â
And Iâll know better than to reach out for you next time.
â Â contradictions.
His grip on his shirt was slowly slipping but still he tried to play it off ââShut the fuck up Namjoon, your research is just as insane as what I do. Stop playing the i-innocent card here! If you were as normal as you claim to be I doubt models would run away from you and never dare to look back. But honestly thats not what makes you crazy.ââ the grip would try to tighten when he had breathed out rather loudly ââ Who the fuck stays with someone that burns itâs competitors down? Youâre here screaming âoh youâre mental! Youâre brutal! So cruel!â Yet youâve never done anything about it, even when it was your models that I had been harming. You just sat there and watched them burn, do you really think that makes you any less crazier and less guilty than me?ââ Even if he was being yelled out seeing it very clear that he finally made the younger reach his limit, he completely ignored the danger that he could face.Â
ââI said, without your mutt youâd be long gone. Your stupid dog shields you and Princess heals me, whats the fucking difference? Stop acting like sheâs all high and mighty just because sheâs a fucking wolf and is ten times her size, if you can call her a rat then I can call it a mutt.ââ
Even if he was defeated by the cold, Kyungwon dared to tug the corners of his frozen lips upwards into a smirk wanting to mock the younger one last time before his energy would end. ââNamjoon baby, youâre no saint and you know it. Youâre far from normal. Stop acting and take that mask of yours off already.ââ
With an already hazy mind, far too clouded up for him to actually understand what was going on or the situation it felt as if he was nothing more but a ragdoll being thrown to the ground. Glazed and empty eyes blinking from time to time trying keep himself stable and try to understand what the younger had been saying but Kyungwon found losing himself more and more, the image before him would just get blurry and then clear up only for it to get blurry once again. He wanted to rub at his eye, thinking that maybe he could just brush it away with his hands but his body just didnât move, the only motion he could do was his chest heaving with each breathes.
It was only when he felt pressure around his neck that he had snapped back (enough to understand the situation atleast), feeling two hands press at his neck cutting his airways, he was left gasping and gagging whenever he tried to breathe. Did he actually expect Namjoon to strangle him? No, honestly he had no clue that heâd lash out at him like this. Ofcourse they had the nastiest fights plenty of times even highly violent but it was very clear that the younger would never dare to do anything fatal to him. And this was probably Kyungwonâs biggest mistake, the mistake of pushing every possible button to get under his skin and anger him because heâd always think that he was going to make it out safe and sound anyway. He had taken it too far and he clearly underestimated the cryokinetic this time. Shaky and weak hands finally moved, raising up to try and grip onto the boys hands, dull nails faintly clawing at the pale and frozen skin.
ââNha..nhm..jhn..chnt brh..et..ââ
The tightness around his neck with his airways being cut mixed with the sharp freezing and cold breaths heâd gasp for that would only end up stabbing him at the back of his throat like sharpened icy knives only made him claw more at the others hands scratching at the skin, he began to panic as soon as he could feel losing himself, wide eyes getting teary due to the stinging sensation. Karma had surely just smacked him against the face harshly only this time he was sure that it was going to be his end, that he was going to meet his demise.
Hopefully the covens are ready because a new pyrokinetic was going to be born tonight for sure.
Kyungwonâs body had long given up since he clearly had no strenght at all, his previous clawing at the youngers hand stopping with his hands both just dropping back to the iced floor completely motionless. Eyes rolling back as he just couldnât fucking breathe, his consciousness had given up as well leaving him knocked out and passed out on the cold ground.
ââGet away Iâm angry with you.ââ he hissed back as he remained at his own side of the bed shoving the younger away repeatidly who simply kept ignoring the said words by nuzzling himself close, daringly sliding his arms around Kyungwonâs figure.
Those actions only made the elder groan in annoyance. ââSeriously Namjoon, Iâm going to burn your face off.ââ
   ââNo you wouldnât~ââ
ââYes I would and you know that well enough.ââ
ââI can always turn you into a human icicle before you do anything, would be highly easy for me to just snap your neck.ââ there was obvious mockery in the youngers tone, the sound of a muffled snort being very easly heard.
ââAh yes..how romantic. You really know how to make a mans heart skip a beat.ââ Kyungwon simply didnât budge, staying still though he made it very clear that he wasnât planning on giving by shoving his lover away every few minutes.
ââSays the one who said he was going to burn my face off just seconds ago.ââ
ââBecause Iâm angry at you!ââ it didnât matter how threatening would Kyungwonâs tone sound because Namjoon would just cuddle himself close as heâd laugh it off like it was no big deal making him groan out loud and just burry his face into the pillow slowly giving into the others clinginess.
ââBesidesâŚââ this time he spoke quietly, his tone calmer than before as he lightly tipped his head back enough to gaze at him with his tongue stuck out ââYouâd never actually kill me. You would freeze my ass probably but youâd unfreeze me soon enough and help me warm up.ââ ââHow can you be so sure? Huh? Huuuh?ââ ââBecausee..ââsuddenly heâd turn around to face him, cheeks puffed out as if to say that he still wasnât going to give in (although it was completely different from reality) ââYou can call me a sick bastard all you want, you can fight back or even attack sometimes but you would never dare to kill me because you couldnât handle losing me.ââ was his simple reply, now propping himself up lightly with his elbow as he leant his chin against his palm.
âââŚDonât push your luck there hyung.ââ ââShut up Namjoon you love me.ââ ââDoes this mean you love me too?ââ âââŚâŚâŚâŚ.ââ ââHyung!ââ ââWell I donât dislike you.ââ
    ââHyunggg!ââÂ
       ââIâd say I tollerate you.ââ
                       ââYah!ââ
ââFine whatever I love you too.ââ
Thereâs disbelief at first; the situation too much for him to comprehend. His hands are still pressed tightly against Kyungwonâs shoulders, yet no words seem to come from his mouth. The screaming has faded, the breathing evened out. His own heartbeat was the only thing left to hear, thumping violently against his chest as Namjoon looked down upon the other and watched the light fade from his eyes.
Dead.
Was he?
Never before had he pushed far enough for Kyungwon to lose his consciousness. Sure, their fights had gotten bad. Horrible, actually. Severe wounds and red stained shirts would always prove the gravity of their actions. Theyâd push and pull until either one of them would surrender, or until they were left unable to continue the fight. However, they had always known exactly when to stop.
This time, though, it seemed as if the younger had lost all sense of control. Somehow, hatred (or was it jealousy? perhaps even pain?) had consumed him, swallowed him whole and taking him hostage. His hands had acted on their own accord, and before he knew it, he had had Kyungwon spluttering and gasping beneath his very own limbs. The words may have been inaudible, but it was perfectly clear what he had to say.
It was also perfectly clear that he had gone too far this time.
âKyungwon!â The name finally spilled from his lips, voice dripping with fear. Instinctively, the photographer began moving, though not exactly in the ways he should have been moving. Never before had he been in this situation, and far as he was concerned, Kyungwon was just about dead by now. Namjoon should know better than that; heâd done tests similar to the current situation over and over again, and yet somehow those results didnât connect to the reality. This wasnât some kind of irrelevant human being, this was Kyungwon, this was his ex lover, this was the person he had shared all of his secrets with. Perhaps him being dead was the only way for him to live a peaceful life, but he couldnât do it. He just couldnât do it.
Pale hands gripped the collar tightly between his fists, shaking the lifeless body in his hands. âHyung, wake up, wake up!â Thereâs desperation in his words, but it doesnât equal the amount of desperation on his face. Even when heâs used to the cold, no, when he adored the cold, it didn't feel comfortable this time around. His hands were shaking, his mind was spinning and he just didn't know what to do. âCome on, Kyungwon, wake up! Wake up you asshole, wake up!â
Once again, Namjoon his hands started shaking the body underneath him, his teeth clenching together forcefully.Â
Alright, Namjoon. Calm down, calm down. First things first: is there a heartbeat?
Trying to calm himself down, the cryokinetic slowly slid off of Kyungwonâs body, gently pressing his ear against the elderâs chest. Tic, tic, tic.. Heartbeat: check. The photographer even dared to do so much as sigh in relief when he caught the sound of it, but he knew he still had a long way to go. Melting down the room was no option, but he could at least start by melting down the ice beneath Kyungwonâs skin. Slowly, but gradually, the ice started to form a puddle on the floor. It would still be cold, but it would be better, right?
Yet even as they waited, there was still no response, and the longer he waited, the worse he was starting to feel. âYou son of a bitch,â he mumbled, mainly to get out his frustrations. âDonât you dare dying on me here, donât you dare getting me in jail for your death. You hear me?â
Think, Namjoon. Think. He is cold, he wonât be surviving this way.
Without second guessing his own actions, he stripped himself from his own shirt, thinking it would be best if at least the model would be wrapped into dry clothes. It took him could some effort, however (and maybe a little more time than needed), to get Kyungwon out of his own, drenched, shirt. Namjoon forced himself not to look at his body, yet couldn't help but to quickly sneak a peek. A very wrong decision, he knew. His fingers moved towards the tanned skin as if naturally, but he managed to pull away the very last second. The temptation was strong, but with the current situation, he found himself perfectly capable of focusing on something a little more important (saving Kyungwonâs life, for example).
âMaybe you should eat even less, Iâd be able to count your ribs next time,â he grumbles in annoyance, carefully pulling the fabric over Kyungwonâs head. The arms follow suit, with a bit more difficulty. Namjoon managed, though, keeping the elder up from the floor with only one arm. No use placing him back down in the water. âPlus, Iâd actually be able to keep you up betterâeven my arms get tired after a while.â
A soft sigh passed his lips, and before he knew it, he had gently placed Kyungwonâs upper body over his own, dry legs. They may have been a bit cold, but they were at least warmer than the ice, and dryer than the wet spots on the floor. âYou stupid, stupid idiot.. havenât you learned a single thing?â
Even without him listening, he couldnât manage to shut up, slender digits running through soft strands of hair. Kyungwon definitely looked great like thisâpeaceful. Calmer than he ever did while he was awake. Namjoon had always loved to watch over the other while he was sleeping. Somehow, it was the only time of the day when heâd look completely at ease. Not even in his arms, not even during photoshoots, not ever. Just when he was sleeping. The younger had often beaten himself up over it: why couldnât he manage to make him feel that way when he was awake, too? No matter how often Kyungwon would smile or laugh, Namjoon would still have the feeling that something wasnât completely right. It was a horrible feeling, but after a while heâd learned to live with it. They had been so very different, maybe it was simply impossible for him comfort the elder any more than he already had.
âAsshole. I really hate you, do you know that? Donât you dare dying on me here, donât you dare.â
His voice quivered, hands still soothingly tracing through the locks of hair and stroking golden cheeks that felt far too cold for someone that was supposed to control the fire.
And yet, even in the midst of it all, a soft smile could be found across Namjoonâs lips as he tried to fight against the memories.
â crimson crystal.
His hands clutch the empty mug in between his palms and he smiles sweetly at the photographer. The transition is as flawless as it has ever been and he cannot help but feel a spark of pride flicker in his chest. His legs are crossed slowly and he chuckles, finding the apology quite endearing when itâs heard (mainly because heâs the cause of it, but thatâs his little secret). His head shakes to refute the question.Â
âNo, itâs alright.â His finger tips run along the sides of the mug to feel the fading warmth beneath his cooled finger tips. Being a living ice sculpture was torture in its own experience, but the petrifying cold had formed a new appreciation for warmth. The chocolate did do its work, albeit it took longer time as the skin contact had brought the process to a slowed pace.Â
Jeongmin looked the photographer up and down for a moment, clacking his nails against the ceramic container. âI finished my drink, at least, and I feel warmer now. Thank you.â And, like beforeâhe stands up and puts the mug on the table. This time for the man to witness without hypnosis. (The robe is kept on this time.) His arms cross in front of his chest and his hands rub at his upper arms as best as he can.Â
âI donât mean to be rude, but..â he begins, voice quite uncertain because this Namjoon is not his Namjoon. He is no longer in control and he does not know how the other will react. His left temple throbs from the strain his powers set on him, and he reminds himself to take a nap once heâs home. Good for his skin, good for his brain. âCould I perhaps see the photographs?â
As soon as he asks, thereâs excitement bubbling in his tummy. Heâs eager to see. Eager to see what he looks like and how he has taken shape on film and if heâs considere good enough. Silly as it is, he wants to impress the man. Be the object of his creative view. Maybe approval from someone he barely knows is ridiculous, but it gives his affirmation that he is doing what he should be doing. A step further down the long road ahead.Â
Namjoon didn't really think much of it; the sudden confusion. It wouldnât be the first time he had gotten caught in his own little world, and it wouldnât be the last. Not even the fact that he couldnât remember what it was that had occupied his mind just minutes ago didnât bother himânot really. With how clouded up his mind would get at times, it was no wonder that he often seemed to lose track of his own thoughts. How was he supposed to know that the reason behind it all was something else entirely? He should probably count himself lucky that Jeongmin didnât have any bad intentions; hell only knew how dangerous it was for someone twisted to possess this kind of power.
A smile graced his lips when the other voiced his gratitude, and he is left to dismissively shake his head at the younger. âNo problem. I donât exactly intend for my models to freeze to the point of death,â he explained, before jokingly adding, âthatâd be quite a waste.â
Those words were only half the truth, however. It was true that Namjoon would always grow pretty fond of his models. After all, he had always put a lot of time in the ones he personally sorted out for his photoshoots. Not many suited his preferences, and even less were able to deal with the cold. The very few times that a model would meet all of his expectations were the times that he promised himself to make sure nothing bad would happen to them. Not under his watch, at least.
False, however, that he hadnât frozen models to death before. It hadnât been on set, and the models were always picked at random (if they could even be called models at all)âbut still. It had happened, thus making his words out to be a lie. Whether or not the victims were models, their finals breaths were spent modeling for him. Voluntarily or not (mainly the latter).
On set, however, he had always been the complete opposite of what was hidden underneath, and he intended on keeping it that way. What exactly was the real him? Heâd like to think it was his ever so kind and caring persona, but he, too, knew that there was a part of him that was nothing like that. That part of him was him just as well. Almost as if there were two different people inside of his head (except there were not).
âHm?â When Jeongmin was suddenly standing in front of him, the photographer tipped his head back to look up at him. See the photographs? It was unusual for him to do so right after a shoot, but at the same time he wondered exactly why he would say no to that. âOh.. Sure.â A single nod was what followed, and Namjoon made his way to connect the camera to his laptop. âTheyâre not completely finished, though. I never edit my photographs much, but I do play around with the lighting here and there.. anyway, itâll do you good seeing your own results, I think.â He paused shortly, his gaze focused on his laptop and the pictures that had slowly started to appear on the screen. âJust out of curiosity.. Why exactly do you want to be a model, Jeongmin-ah?â

â Â contradictions.
Namjoon had been very clearly playing with fire right now, while a part of him couldnât blame the younger for acting in such a way another part of him was completely ready to smack him upside the head to yell at him to shut up. But truth was that Kyungwon had no energy left, did he even have any will left for him to shout out? Right now it felt as if a simple mumble from him was enough to make him feel tired and yet he stubbornly still glared hissing and snarling at every mocking word that was thrown at him.Â
Lips parting to say something in return he was quick to close them back shut,  Kyungwon knew too well that it was the truth. Now he could blame  this whole thing on the younger and rat him out but at the same time Namjoon would be able to spill out everything and clearly he couldnât let that happen. But even if he stood quiet and no words would be spoke there was still the question of how on earth will the two of them get out of here without any sort of  following consequences, was there even a door for them to freely exit by without being welcomed by guards of cameras? No matter the âplanâ they would still end up in some sort of trouble in a way or another.
Walk out of the door and there will be guards and probably some cameras shoved in their face to document on what had just happend, try to find a possible excuse to explain a whole room suddenly freezing up and being covered by thick layers of ice. Was there even a possible way for them to explain it so that it would be believable? The more Kyungwon thought about it the more he realised that his career and image was in trouble right now.
His figure was finally freed by the youngers grip and he could finally move his back away from the freezing cold tiles. Body still shaking followed by heavy breathes Kyungwon was trying to warm himself up just enough so he could keep himself on his feet and not suddenly collapse. ââYouâŚââ as impatient as ever he didnât even wait for his body to fully recover as he had already thrown himself at the cryokinetic slamming the youngers figure down against the frozen ground, Kyungwon had latched out like a predator ready to claw at his prey both of his hands pushing at the boys shoulders to keep him down. His breathing was still heavy and he couldnât cover up the fact that he had little to no energy as his arms kept shaking from him trying to hold himself up.Â
ââEven so, how are we going to get the fuck out of here right now? Youâre asking me if I know what they would do if they found out about us being witches but how the fuck are you going to explain this piece of shit of an iced castle youâve just made!? Do you know in what sort of fucking danger youâve just put us in? Not yourself but me as well! I know youâve been too busy admiring your own powers to actually hear anything but even through the layers of ice I can hear guards shouting from behind the doors, how on earth are we going to get out of here!? Walk out of the door like nothing happend and having to explain why this place became some sort of iced age? Or sneak out from some backdoor where cameras will clearly catch us running away leading the media and everyone fucking track us down. Any fucking plan is going to backfire and we have no fucking safe way to get out of here! If anyone is brainless right now this time itâs you! Youâre too busy in your fucking little world to understand the dangers around you, if you didnât have that stupid mutt of yours youâd be already dead years ago you stupid idiot!  Y-Youâre such..a-an idiotâŚwhat do you have??? Ice cubes instead of a brain!?ââ
Panting after each given word he tugged at the fabric of the others shirt, enough to pull him back up but being far too weak he only ended up letting him drop back to the ground. ââPossibly because if you actually had a brain you wouldnât have fucking dated me in the first place! Only someone as mental as you would actually stick with someone like me, I gave you enough chances and warnings that our relationship wasnât a healthy one, that I wasnât someone you should cling onto but instead you were a fucking idiot! ââ the words that had left his lips caught him by complete and utter surprise, Kyungwon could only blink blankly at himself wondering what on earth was he saying. He couldnât think and he couldnât control himself, it was like every word just came out on itâs own because he had no self control left. ââYouâre a fucking idiot Namjoon. A fucking idiot! You should have left it to that night but no you just had to poke at me today to get a fucking reaction! If you were smart enough you would have just let me pass without a word, now we wouldnât be in this fucking mess!ââ
Shaky hands were gripping onto the fabric of his shirt ââI told you to never come back, I told you to never talk to me again, why did you have to speak up!?!? ââ
ââStop making me feel things.ââÂ
Before any more words could be said what little energy Kyungwon had left suddenly disappeard causing him to collapse ontop of the younger desperately trying to regain his breathing. Even if he was unfrozen, the air he would inhale was cold enough to make his lungs hurt and that was why it was still so hard for him to properly breathe. His body was getting tiny bits of oxygen but it wasnât anywhere near being enough for him to gain back his posture and properly use his powers. What little warmth he could feel it would disappear within seconds each time.
He couldnât think, he couldnât breathe, he could barely even move or speak, yet as desperately as he wanted this iced hell to end he just couldnât beg for it to disappear because that would leave them both in danger of being caught by the human eye and having to explain what had just happend.
âââŚ.ââ even if he was still conscious about everything he couldnât get himself to talk anymore, his eyes would blink repeatidly trying to get rid of the blurry images that would began to form in his vision. Kyungwon simply had no force left and the little bits of energy that was present just seconds ago he compeltely consumed it by pouncing onto the boy and later proceed to yell out words that even he himself had no clue of what he had just said. He just should have ended his job on that night two years ago, he should have shown no mercy.
Yet there was still something holding him back, was his hate really out of jealousy? Was he angry at Namjoon for getting in his way when he could have achieved his goal?Â
Or was it simply just like he had shouted out before, the fact that he could feel things?
Truthfully, he should have known better than to give the elder space. Time after time again, Kyungwon had proven that he couldnât be trusted. As much as he had loved him, there had been very few occasions on which Namjoon had dared to let down his guard completely around him. A very good reason for most to stay away from him as much as possible, and yet it had been one of the main reasons for the cryokinetic to stay with him. He enjoyed the challenges it brought, probably more than he should have.
By giving him space he had given Kyungwon time to recover. Purposely so, because if they were going to get out of here, Namjoon needed the model to be able to fend for himself. If not for his recovery, he was certain that the pyrokinetic would collapse sooner or later. He should have known, however, that it wasnât going to be that easy. Sure, it was the wisest decision for either of them, but Namjoon should have known that the other would never rest until he had restored his very own pride. He should have known better.
A loud bang echoed through the room the second Kyungwon crashed him into the ice beneath him, the impact causing for a stinging pain to burst through his head. Even after all the warnings he had given, after all the times he had tried to explain that he wasnât going to be getting out without the photographer's help, he still felt too proud to surrender.
(And he should have known, he should have known.)
It was freezing, and the cold gave him strengthâbut what exactly was strength when you couldnât even focus properly? Kyungwon certainly didnât plan on allowing him to recover, his body shaken vigorously by the hands of the elder. His loud words only added to the venomous stinging inside of his head, eyes shutting tightly in an attempt to have the aching fade away.
âYou have absolutely no idea what youâre talking about,â came a final answer, hissed between gritted teeth. âYou do not have a single clue, Kyungwon!â All this time, Namjoon had been patient, but the longer the model kept speaking, the shorter his patience started to grow. Not only did every word feel like a dagger piercing through his brain, but the bullshit Kyungwon was spitting had finally started to get through to him. Perhaps because bits and pieces of truth had finally been uncovered among insults.
That, and the fact that Kyungwon had just managed to throw dirt at one of his most precious belongings, if not the most precious one.
Cold hands abruptly came up to grab a hold of the modelâs collar, eyes flashing open. For a moment, he had forgotten completely about the pain inside of his head. âShe is not a mutt! At least she is able to protect me! What the hell is that rat of yours good for?! Healing your broken nails?! Oh, please, Princess, I have a scratch on my finger! Please help me before I die!âÂ
To piss of Namjoon quickly, there were two very easy things to do. One: threaten his sister, the person he possibly cared the most for in his life. Or two: insult his familiar, the one being that had always been by his side.
And let Kyungwon just so happened to be guilty of the latter. Wasnât the first time, probably wouldnât be the last time, either: but it did piss him off greatly.
âYouâre so incredibly stupid!' Namjoon lashed at him, eyes narrowing into a murderous glare. âHow am I the one thatâs mental?! Youâre the one whoâs been setting models on fucking fire for fuckâs sake! Youâre completely insane!â Still, that was no answer to the words the elder had spoken, and no such answer would ever been given, either. Why did Namjoon fall for someone as brutal as Kyungwon? It wasnât that he didnât know of the otherâs actions: he knew perfectly well what he was capable of. Hell, he had even witnessed it multiple times before. If that had not scared him away, however, then what did that mean? Did it mean that he wasnât exactly sane, either? Namjoon always liked to think that he was. Sane. Patient. Normal.
Truth was, however, that he was anything but that, and he knew it. He knew it very well, and yet he denied it. At least he usually did. There were times where heâd own up to it all and bask in the glory of it. The confidence that it gave him. Generally, however, he did exactly the oppositeâand Kyungwon knew it.
It wasnât just Kyungwon wearing the masks in this room.
Suddenly, his breath hitched in his throat, words barely getting through to him anymore. Kyungwon was closeâtoo close. As in, so close, 'he could swear he could feel his heart beating against his chestâ kind of close. His words died down on his tongue, dark eyes widening in shock. It had been a very long time since they had laid like this, and albeit the situation was far from being a pleasant one, that didnât take away the fact that this brought back many, many memories. Memories and feelings. Feelings that he didnât want to have to fight against another time.
Knowing no mercy, the younger suddenly snapped back to reality and threw the other off from his body. With how numb the ice had made him, it had hardly taken him any effort at all. Before he knew it he was right on top of the pyrokinetic, hands pressing firmly against his throat. Â
         âGet away from me!â
âI donât want to ever see you again!â
âNamjoon, get the hell out of here!â
His eyes glazed over, and for a moment it was as if Namjoon wasnât even present anymore. It was as if something had taken over (it felt that way, too), his thumbs pushing down harshly into sun-kissed skin. No matter how much time had passed, those words would find their way to get to him, and with the anger that had already been boiling inside of him, it was the final straw to make him snap.
âI could kill you, you know,â he darkly repeated for the third time that afternoon, though there was something to his words that hadnât been there before. Something that didnât even sound like him. His thumbs dug deeper, heavy breaths passing his lips. The cold did him well; but the cold never had been able to solve problems of emotional origin. âI should, too.â
It were the last words he spoke before Kyungwonâs voice got through to him againâfinally.
âStop making me feel things!â
The meaning behind those words? Unknown, but it was exactly what Namjoon had needed to hear, his grip around the otherâs neck loosening up again. Curiosity sparked this time, causing him to forget all about what had just happened. This was the closest he had been to the truth in a very long time, and it had calmed him down considerably (or had at least died down whatever instinct had just taken over). âWhat do you mean, âstop making me feel thingsâ?â he asked, hands moving down to press against his shoulders, his legs clenching tightly around his frame.Â
âMake you feel what things?â
â Â contradictions.
hmxkyungwon:
Even with those words being said to him it was hard for him to actually believe them, Kyungwon figured that with Namjoon telling him that he hates him it would make things much easier and he would stop hesitating and actually attack, fully capable of gaining atleast some of his powers back. And yet, there was something in the boys eyes that made him want to cling onto him instead, that made him hold back and completely powerless and that was exactly why having to look at him made him grow even more frutsrated. Did Namjoon actually hate him? If he did, then why on earth was he keeping him here still and kept giving his face such soothing touches?
Honestly if it was for Kyungwon he would have been long gone without any word being said, nothing but silence as they would pass eachother through the hallway because thats was just how he was. He was bound to not show any sort of emotion and he was bound to admit that he didnât care. But instead he was stuck here, stuck in this iced room with his ex partner stroking his cheeks and brushing strands of his wet hair back with soothing words. In what world or reality would a person who hates someone do such a thing for them? And that was why it made him grow so confused and give him mixed feelings that he  wasnât familiar with, that he never knew how to deal with them only making him more and more angry.
Namjoonâs hand was brushing his hair back once again and just like a frightened dog heâd simply snarl trying to tip his head away from the youngers touch not really wanting any of it because it justâŚdid not feel right, it didnât feel right because those actions felt far too natural and they would feel like the right thing to do in a scenario but Kyungwonâs brain kept telling not to give in and do his best to try and avoid any sort of affection that the cryokinetic would give him.
Now if onlyâŚif only he would stop giving him that look, the look of pity and worry. It was so easy to read those emotions from the youngers eyes alone and right now he didnât want any pit, Kyungwon never wanted any pity and that was why heâd always bark a ânothing is wrongâ ânothing happendâ during their relationship whenever the boy would question about his gloomy mood.
His moods were never a surprise to himself, he never thought of himself as a âgloomyâ sort of person. Upset? Maybe. Angry? Defineatly. But sad and gloomy? Hurt even? No those emotions didnât exist to him, there was only the feeling of being wronged or decieved, having to deal with traitors and competitions. Those were the only feelings Kyungwon was familiar with because heâd always prove the other that he wasnât going to bow down to anyone (ironic since he had joined the Crimson Coven, but even that was just for his own greedy and gruesome needs. Was he actually going to be loyal to his âleaderâ after heâd get what heâd want? Probably not.)
Kyungwon had been growing heavily bothered by the kindness that the others eyes would show him, the caring emotions still highly visible to anyone who could stare into them like he had been doing right now and even if he really did want to just claw at the youngers face to get rid of those ridiculous feelings that had been torturing him in this exact moment, he was completely unable to right now. His whole body had been far too swollen and numb to actually properly do any actions and really the only thing he was able to do right now was weakly grip onto the youngers strands of hair that were near his face his loud and heavy breathing never ceasing as his body was still pressed against the wall which was covered in layers of ice.
ââYou..Y-Youâre lucky that my body is way t-too numb to actually do anythingâŚb-because I would have done it..t-trust meâŚI wouldâŚââ the pyrokinetic had swallowed down questioning himself if he was actually really capable of doing that, after all everytime heâd leave his job unfinished wether it be because someone interrupted them or simply he wouldnât find the will to do it (because as usual heâd much rather torture someone and let them live with that trauma for the rest of their lives.) Stil for some reason in Namjoonâs case, he did harm the younger, he did leave a permanent bruise but unlike with his victims he made it completely invisible (in a way) so that only the boy could see it and even that would be when heâd take off his shirt and turn around.
It was like something was keeping him back, holding him back from actually killing him and that bothered Kyungwon greatly.
He wasnât supposed to show any kind of mercy.
Gulping down his hands slid down to his neck letting go the black strands of hair which he had been gripping lightly a few minutes ago ââI-I swear..Iâm going to actually end you some dayâŚI w-will do it donât test me! You should know better than to test me like this Namjoon!ââ with loud pants the elder spoke narrowing his eyes up at him.  ââItâs not that I donât like your eyesâŚyou just need to stop looking at me like that! I can see pity in them and it sickens me!ââ
But was it really just pity that Kyungwon could read from them? Whatever it was he surely was trying to ignore it and pretend that it didnât exist, there was no time for him to worry about such things. If anything he wasnât supposed to worry about anything in the first place. ââJ-Just let me..go already..Itâs your fault anyway! If I put the blame on you itâs the truth! If it was for me I would have been out of here minutes ago without any worries or problems! Why didnât you let me go when I ran off!? What was the fucking point of making this your stupid iced castle!? What is it!? Wishing you had your stuped camera with you so you could photograph everything right now like the weirdo that you are?!ââ it was like he just didnât know what to say anymore or what way to find to actually get under his ex partners skin like before, anything he said and anything heâd do he ended up only looking like child throwing a tantrum and it was perfectly obvious that Namjoon wasnât going to budge one bit.
ââI-If you donât..I-If you donât move and let me go, Iâm going to actually use my powers! Doesnât matter if Iâm soaked wet! Iâll do it!ââ and with a quick tug he yanked his hand away from the others that he had been holding up to cover his eyes a few seconds ago ââDonât touch me!!ââ
If anything, the incident of two years ago should anger him. Infuriate him to a point where no mercy would be given to man in front of him. He had dared to mark him so brutally, even when they had still been together. Namjoon should have been able to trust him, to count on Kyungwon never to hurt himâbut instead he had ended up with a huge scar on his back and a not-so-very-friendly reminder of the fact that his partner had always loved his own reflection and pride more than he had ever loved Namjoon.
And it did. It did anger him, it did make his blood boil. There were times where he would lie awake at night, wondering what he would do if he ever saw Kyungwon again, wondering how he could best take revenge after all that had happened.
On the other hand, no matter how big the mark, it had only been there for Namjoon to see. A spot he could easily cover up: very much unlike the pyrokineticâs usual ways of working. Had he treated him the way he treated others, the younger was quite sure that he wouldnât have dared to show himself out of his apartment anymore. The fact that he didnât had proven many things. For starters, it had proven that Kyungwon couldnât possibly despise him as much as he had told him he did that night. It also meant that Kyungwon, in some (very unique) ways, did care about him. None of that excused his horrible actions, but it did give Namjoon some hope.
It had also made things more complicated.
See, if Kyungwon had simply turned him into a monster that night, at least he would have had a darn good reason to bring the model down. He still did, but the fact that Kyungwon had spared him in his own, sadistic ways, had softened Namjoon. So much, that his mind had become a complete mess of contradictions.
âIâm lucky?â Kyungwon had managed to return Namjoon to the land of the living, pulling him out of his trance by simply putting his hands against his neck. âI wouldnât call it luck, hyung. Itâs a very strategic decision I have made. After all, this entire ice castle was created by yours truly, and I was already convinced that you would not tear out my eyes. It seems that I was right.â
Taking a deep breath, the photographer managed not to panic, his own nails digging into tanned arms. He narrowed his eyes at the other, dangerously so, making a mental note not to let the elder get anywhere near his neck again. Ever.
Had he been playing with fire? Definitelyâbut if not for the fact that Kyungwon was physically incapable of ripping out his eyes at that moment, he had also been pretty sure that the elder wouldnât dare to mutilate him in such a horrendous way. It had still been a risk, but he would have never taken it if he hadnât had half the faith he did in Kyungwon. Choking him, however? Not something he had been anticipating, and certainly not something he was prepared for.
âDo not ever try that again.â
Namjoon finally lowered his arms at the order being thrown at him, though he couldnât help but skeptically raise an eyebrow, a scoff escaping his pale lips. A weirdo, huh? âYeah, I wish. I wish I had my camera with me right now so I could save this moment forever. Donât worry though, itâll never be erased from my memory for as long as I live. Please do save your own dignity and stop throwing insults like a spoiled little brat. A weirdo, really?â
The younger didnât even bother to defend himself, used to insults that were by far worse than that. This was plainly childish, and for a moment he wondered if perhaps he Kyungwon was suffering from a brain freeze. Usually, at least heâd put a little bit more thought into his insults.
âYou know, hyung, for someone that is supposedly so different from the rest, youâre living up to the stereotype of models awfully well. Arenât they supposed to be pretty brainless?â He grinned at that, though quickly silenced the other by placing his own finger against frozen lips. âIâm kidding,â he added, âbut that doesnât make your comment any wiser. You do know what happens to witches that are found by humans, right? And how exactly were you going to explain this frozen palace?â
A small moment of silence fell. Curious eyes tried to find any kind of emotion in Kyungwonâs dark pair, yet the elder seemed to have turned into a mess as much as Namjoon had.
âAnd,â he eventually continued, not about to let Kyungwon think he had any kind of say in the situation, âif you do happen to somehow be able to put the blame on me, donât you think Iâll rat you out faster than you can snap your fingers? Iâd be a bit more careful in who youâre threatening right now. Youâll need me to get out of here unharmed.â
Finally, Namjoon took a few steps back, allowing the other a bit of space while he studied him carefully. Long as the cold was overpowering, Kyungwon wouldnât be able to severely hurt him. It was simply too easy to defend himself while the cold was embracing every bone in his body, but that didnât mean he was going to be able to keep the cold up forever.
Question remained, after all, how would he get them out of this place without being caught by the guards or cameras outside?

Good Morning Call of an Arctic Wolf by Michael SchĂśnberger / 500px
â Â contradictions.
hmxkyungwon:
ââNamjoon..seems like after all this time you still donât know me.ââ the man laughed quietly despite that making his lung ache as well. ââYou should know by now that just showing any tad bit of emotion is completely humiliating to me, and for me to actuallyâŚcry? Do you know how pathetic that is inside of my head? Do you know how humiliating is the thought that Iâve cried infront of someone? Iâm part of the Crimson Coven yet youâve just s-seen me completely vulnerable and just..pathetic..is there even any other word that I could use other than pathetic? Ridiculous maybe..but pathetic sounds just right. I-Iâm Kim Kyungwon for fucks sake.ââ he breathed out his body still shaking from the cold while he spoke. His lips had formed a thin line, or well tried to since they kept trembling along with his whole figure.
Kyungwon watched the youngers hand suddenly move infront of him, and he couldnât help himself but to lean back trying to avoid the contact as he worried that heâd just end up frozen up once more. He tried to hiss, to hiss was his poor attempt at acting tough still despite the fact that heâd only end up looking like a kicked puppy trying to protect himself. ââD-Donât touch meâââ he tried to fight back but he was far too slow or too tired to actually do anything so he had simply given in unwillingly letting Namjoon brush his now wet strands of hair back. With heavy breaths his eyes carefully followed the youngers fingertips, gulping down as he couldnât lie about the fact that it brought back memories.
Memories that just like the flashbacks from before he was supposed to forget about them, to act like those things had never happend or even less that he cared about them.
He saw that faint mischievious grin on the youngers face making his eyes narrow into a glare, his attempt of hitting him a complete failure because he wasnât even sure if he could move his arms since he couldnât even feel them in the first place.
When suddenly he could feel his feet being freed from the thick layers of ice, the pyrokinetic let out a gasp as he nearly fell to the ground, his body far too numb to be able to keep him steady in place but he was only pushed up once again with Namjoon pushing him up against the wall earning another whine from him, because while his body was numb it had also swelled up making each simple touch feel like small knifes piercing his skin and the frozen palms being pressed against his wet shirt making the fabric stick to his skin even more making his breath hitch once again putting him into a highly uncomfortable position.
It would be yet another lie to say that during this whole time Kyungwon hadnât been trying to start a fire around them, concentration that wouldnât last for too long because of the cold now making it difficult for him. ââDo youâŚreally..ââ the model took in breaths with each word ââThinkâŚI care..what you say?..ââ he had been glaring still this whole time, still trying to protect his dignity or well what was left of it, still owning up (or trying to) to the role of a person part of the Crimson Coven. ââI swearâŚw-when you finally pull awayâŚy-youâre dead..m-meat.ââ but even with those kind of words his tone didnât manage to get as sharp as before, he was just so cold right now and it hurt so much to do just anything that deep down he was actually whining begging for Namjoon not to freeze him once again.
But there was absolutely no way that heâd admit that..not again atleast.
Just as he was about to say something, Namjoonâs words had caught him by surprise making him blink and grow silent instead. Ofcourse he remembers those words, those were the only words that would keep him going through the day and make him able to keep his head high no matter what was he told. But he didnât hear that right now, he didnât need that right now because there was no time for him to grow emotional again. ââDonât say itâŚj-just donât..ââ Kyungwon had hissed in return through gritted teeth not wanting to hear any of it no matter how much he knew that he needed such words to be said. He simply did not want to give in, Namjoon was his ex lover, his ex partner who had snatched his position for a photoshoot right when he thought he had achieved his goals and that was why he couldnât, no he shouldnât depend on his words anymore.Â
With what little strenght he had left he tried to shake him off, head shaking from side to side to avoid the others touch so he could free himself off of that frozen wall and escape this iced hell ââNo no no no no! Iâm not going to listen to you! Iâm not going to depend on your words! Namjoon itâs been two years let me fucking go! Youâre not supposed to fucking be nice to me!ââ Kyungwon had growled out struggling to push the others slightly taller figure away from his own because he knew, he knew that if he was going to hear those words again he was going to cling onto the younger just like he used to for comfort.
Cheeks suddenly cupped by pale cold hands he was now forced to look into his ex lovers eyes, the soothing touches across his cheekbones didnât help and he was still trying to fight back by simply snarling and trying to push against the youngers chest with completely frozen hands that he had been trying to warm up this whole time.
âThe sun simply loved you the most. You got it? And what are some obnoxious humans compared to the sun? With the little amount of sun they got, no wonder theyâd be jealous of you.â
And that was enough to have the elder shake, shake even more than he had been before from the cold. This whole scene was so wrong, it felt so wrong because of how much time had passed and how things had ended. Namjoon wasnât supposed to be here trying to cheer him up, he wasnât supposed to be caring, he wasnât supposed try and soothe him and make him feel better.
But Kyungwonâs biggest question was, why? Why?
Why?
ââW-Why..?ââ he was even left saying that out loud, his lips that had been slowly gaining back their actual color kept trembling trying to muffle back any sort of noises that heâd consider âhumiliatingâ. ââWhy do you care so fucking much about me? Why are you even still hereâŚ? You should have fucking ended me the moment youâve made me a darn ice sculpture!ââ It was so frustrating for Kyungwon to feel something, just any sort of emotion was enough to make him angry at himself because he just didnât know how was he supposed to handle them. He had no clue on what was he supposed to say or do but still somehow he found himself clutching onto the youngers shirt tugging at it in frustration.
ââWhy are you still touching me with such affection!? Stop looking at me with those fucking eyes thats not fucking right! Seriously stop looking at me before I fucking rip your eyes out!ââ the only thing he could actually do was shout out weakly between heavy breathes.
ââYouâre fucking crazyâŚâŚ..youâre supposed to hate my fucking guts! Do you hear me? Hate me for fucks sake! Hate me! I hate you and youâre supposed to fucking hate me in return! Donât fucking tell me that the sun loved me and kissed me to make me pretty, tell me it fucking shit on me because it hates me! Ah seriously stop giving me that fucking look! Just hate me already for fucks sake!âŚâŚWhy donât you hate me..?ââ
âYeah, yeah, you are the almighty Kim Kyungwon, the pretty-faced demon without any kind of real feelings.â Namjoon rolled his eyes at the other, clearly not impressed by the whole facade. âForgive me, I almost forgot that you do not have a heart.â It seemed that not even time had managed to change the elder in the slightest bit. For whatever reason there may have been, Kyungwon had always managed to convince himself that emotions were a bad thing altogether. Quite a challenge it had proven to be, to live together with someone that only rarely showed what he was truly feeling. A challenge he had been more than willing to take.Â
Kyungwon was right, though: even after all of the time they had spent together, he still didnât know who he really was. No matter how much he had loved him, there had always been so many different sides to the model. So many masks and so many secrets..but if Kyungwon thought that any of his threats were scaring him, it only meant that he didnât really know Namjoon, either. Perhaps they never had; perhaps that was exactly why they had never lasted. They would never understand each other, the way the fire would never understand the ice, and the way the ice would never understand the fire.
It was impossible.
And yet here they were standing, in a giant igloo, both of his hand still cupping Kyungwonâs face. Threat after threat was thrown into his direction, followed by insults, and even more threats. Even then, Namjoon was not impressed. The younger had never been scared of Kyungwon, no matter how much reason he had given him to be scared of him. His thumbs simply continued to brush against his cheekbones, a soft smile gracing his lips. Would these actions piss off the other even more? Most likely so, but the photographer couldnât care less about that.
Admitted, however, for someone in Kyungwonâs position, he surely did know how to keep up a tough front. The cryokinetic may not have been able to understand what it was like to have one's body completely frozen, but he had seen enough to know for sure that it had to be extremely numbing, yet painful at the same time. Besides, Kyunwonâs powers were most likely just as painful to him as Namjoonâs powers were to the modelâand experience had taught him multiple times before that there was a reason ice and fire did not go very well together: it hurt like hell.
A soft chuckle managed to escape past the youngerâs lips, shaking his head dismissively. âOh, I do hate you, alright.â That much was true, and that was exactly why he couldnât bear to leave the other behind like this. Had he simply not cared for Kyungwon, this whole situation would have never happened. All these months together, however, had completely brainwashed Namjoon. It would be an understatement to describe their relationship as a toxic one, but it was the closest word he could find to begin with. The continuous fights, threats and even abusing of each other had gone hand in hand with compliments, admiration and the sweetest of touches. His whole definition of love and hate had been a mess, the lines nothing more than a blur to him. Even right now, he wasnât exactly sure what he felt. A lot of anger, that was for sureâand pity, too.
Just like during the time of their relationship, everything had turned his mind into one big mess of feelings.
âI hate you more than anyone in this world.â One of his hands pulled away from his cheek, instead moving to brush away the strands of hair that had fallen back over Kyungwonâs forehead. âIâve got more than enough reason to hate you, donât I?â A new smile formed on his face at those words, fingers continuing to brush through the red locks of his hair. âBut hating you hasnât turned me into a liar. I am merely telling you the truth. Have I ever lied to you before?â
Finally, Namjoon pulled away from the elder, instead placing his hands at either side of his face. âI know you havenât given up on using your powers just yet. Itâs not going to get you anywhere, though. You might as well spare yourself the energy. What do you think happens when your fire melts away the ice from the doors?â Dark eyes wandered off to the frozen entrances, for a moment admiring them in silence, before he focused back on the person in front of him. âItâs not going to be pretty for either of us if they find us here. Highly doubt youâll be able to talk yourself out of that one.â
Once again, however, Kyungwon was right. There was a certain kind of affection to his touches, but not the kind that Namjoon was able to stop. All of it had come so naturally to him that he hardly even realised what he was doing until it was already too late. Part of him knew that he should have taken the opportunity to break his ex lover down forever, but the bigger part of him knew that heâd never be able to. Even if they werenât going to spend their lives together, that didnât mean that he had stopped caring. Not when it came to situations like this. Hell, even with how little Kyungwon had spoken about his feelings, it had always been crystal clear how hurt he would get by certain comments of the modeling community.
At this point, Namjoon could only laugh at the desperate ways in which Kyungwon was trying to scare him. Perhaps it worked on others, but it certainly didnât work on him.
âYou donât like my eyes?â he asked, curving one of his eyebrows in a questioning manner. Without further ado, Namjoonâs hands let go of the wall behind them, reaching down to grab hold of Kyungwonâs hands and place them over his own eyes. Dangerous? Perhaps, but he wasnât going to act as if these words had been able to scare him in any kind of way. âRip them out if that is what you wish to do.â There was a slight tone of mockery to his voice, patiently waiting for the other to make a move. âNobody will ever know it was you who did it. Go ahead, try and take them from me if you want to.â
Exactly what he was trying to achieve with his actions, he was unsure of. Maybe it was his way to show Kyungwon that his spiteful words meant nothing to him, his way of telling him to stop getting so offensive over nothing.
Namjoon wasnât scared of Kyungwon, so why was he still speaking, still trying to somehow talk him down?
â crimson crystal.
hmjeongmin:
He can practically feel his influence in the otherâs brain, like roots digging deep in his brain and controlling him the way he does. Though, he feels it pay off when itâs the movements of the photographer that form a bit of a backlash. His cool finger tips feel nice in contrast to the stinging ice before that touched his skin. He could keep this trance up for ages, but it would just hurt him in conflict. Were he to get too comfortable, loosening his hold on the man would be that much more difficult. Even if he is strong with his powerâundeniably soâheâs still young. Inexperience might be his downfall and he doesnât want a couple of fingers brushing over his skin to be the cause of that.Â
Even if the touch is nice, he isnât going to let that drawl him in further than he wants to be. His hands cup the manâs cheeks and he tilts his head up in order to maintain their eyecontact as he sits up a bit. First, he reassure him that heâs fine with the temperature. As stubborn as he is with modeling, just as stubborn he is with his luring. If he werenât, his strength wouldnât have this much effect.Â
âIâm alright, donât worry.âÂ
The model leans in and brushes a soft kiss against the tip of Namjoonâs nose. The photographer really is cute, and it nearly makes Jeongmin laugh. Instead of standing behind the camera, maybe the man should spend some time in front of it. He wonders, as he holds the manâs face in the palms of his hands, what his past has been and if the attacker ever got to him.Â
Heâs tempted to ask. But then again, heâs tempted to ask a lot of things. What does he look like? Was he your friend? Whatâs his name? Where can I find him? Whatâs his weakness? Does he belong to a coven? Is it a witch? â A questionnaire list of question marks and curiosities, but he doesnât have the heart to ask them yet. He knows enough for now. Enough to defend himself at least.Â
The most crucial part of his hypnosis arrives and he slides off the manâs lap. With a stern voiceâ âSit still.ââhe commands the man to remain in his spot while Jeongmin readjusts the robe on his body. His hands comb through the manâs hair to set it straight (to avoid suspicion of Jeongminâs hair curious fingers having slipped through them). He sighs, running his index finger along the otherâs nose before he uses the voice he used before again.
But it sounds deeper. Much deeper. And Jeongmin feels a little tired when he uses this much of his power to get what he wants. The power to manipulate someoneâs mind to the extent even their subconscious is willing to follow. He feels the first thumps of a headache hit against his left temple, but he pushes through as he focuses.
He doesnât really need to speak when itâs like this. Namjoonâs mind will know what to do and what Jeongmin wants of it. To break down the memory of being in his control and having been under his influence purely in manipulation of his mind. As the process hits, quick but pressuring for his own mind to force that much effort in such short time, he takes his mug back in hand and sits back on the stool like he did before.
Everything in place like it was before. The perfect set up for when the man awakes from his hypnosis.
Had anyone asked him how he had gotten himself into the current situation, he probably would have not been able to answer them. Namjoon had no idea whatsoever as to why his model had suddenly come to sit in his lap; didnât know why he was leaning in so close, didnât know what he was planning on doing.. and the strangest part of all was that he simply did not care, either.
Why would he worry about such trivial matters, when no harm was being done? At least, none that he was aware of at the moment. His whole mind had been clouded, the only one thing on his mind being the model in front of him. Heâs very sweet, Namjoon thinks. Sweet, and yet pretty tough, too. Not once had he heard the younger complain about the cold, something that had proven to be very rare throughout the years. It wasnât exactly something the photographer would be able to understand: he had never experienced cold the way others had, and how could he ever understand the pain of frost when he was immune to it?
Perhaps that was why he never really bothered to put up with whiny models. In his eyes they were weak, and didnât do anything but get on his nerves. Jeongmin, however, had been the exact opposite. Even without the thick robe covering up his chest, he didnât make the smallest of sounds. That fact alone was enough to convince Namjoon that the younger was going to make it to the top someday. Not only did he have the looks, he had got the determination, too. Definitely admirable.
The kiss is met with a sweet smile, but it fades the moment Jeongmin gets up to distance himself from him. Why the abrupt interruption? Had he done something wrong?
âSit still? Why?â Curious eyes looked up at the other, letting him have his way with the locks of his hair--an action that had often calmed him down before. Something seemed off, though. The moment their gazes meet, Jeongmin appeared to be focused on something else completely, as if he was stuck in his own little world. It left Namjoon feeling confused, lips parting to demand an explanation, yet the words die down in his throat before he manages to speak up.
It is quiet for a few seconds, his vision blurring and then becoming clear again. He has absolutely no idea of what has been going on; Jeongmin is sitting in front of him, and he doesnât quite remember what they had been talking about (had they been talking at all?). âSorryâdid you say something? I mustâve zoned out for a bit.. My apologies.âÂ
â Â contradictions.
hmxkyungwon:
Did it even matter to him anymore? No not really, with how the younger saw him right now Kyungwon would much rather die than live his life knowing that his most vulnerable moment had been seen, that he dared to let his emotions flow pathetically. While his parents would be proud of him he felt like a complete disgrace, a disgrace to his own name and his coven. The name Kim Kyungwon had been tainted by misery and weakness, he was sure his grandfather was grimacing at him from his grave. He could only laugh at Namjoonâs following words (well whatever the shaking sound that came past his chattering teeth was, it was supposed to be his bitter laugh).
ââDo it, y-youâll only be doing me a f-favour.ââ were the words that followed his bitter laughter, still unable to breathe as it was far too painful for him to do so making his already shaky tone raspy, sounding as if he needed to gasp for some air. Even if he did know Namjoon well enough to know that the younger wouldnât actually do it, even if he knew that for some reason the boy just couldnât get himself to do any kind of actual harm to him, Kyungwon was still waiting patiently for his demise.
However what followed was anything but painful (well he was still fucking freezing), instead he felt the ice melt off from him, leaving him standing there like a soaked wet cat hissing and feeling completely uncomfortable. Automatically his arms had wrapped around his own figure, his body still trembling uncontrollably from the cold and really, he was trying his best to warm himself up but because of his damp clothes clinging against his skin and his wet red strands of hair sticking against his forehead and covering a big part of his face and eyes it was almost impossible for him to do so. What little flame heâd manage to do it would just die back down leaving nothing but faint smokes as a sign that they even existed for a few seconds.
Clicking teeth and trembling lips, the model found himself now staring at the ground. He didnât dare to give Namjoon a look, he didnât dare to look at him in the eyes and let him see more. He didnât want him to read about his fears anymore as he had been humiliated enough. Ofcourse it was nothing compared to what he had always done, to how he had always threated the boy during their relationship and it certainly wasnât anything compared to what his ex lover had to live with every day on his back. Still however this was Kyungwon we were talking about, a man full of pride who refuses to bown down to anyone unless they are of any good to him. His kindness was a simple joke and a mask that heâd put on only for the person that was of some kind of use to him. Arrogance was his middle name despite his gentleman like charm, a man who would keep his head high even during the worst of possible moments.
He was never wrong.
He was never at fault.
Noone would dare to stand above him.
If they did dare to do so then Kyungwon would make sure to make them back off.
And a situation like this was highly humiliating to him, it was painful to actually face the truth, it was painful for him to actually acknowledge the reality. He wasnât high and mighty, he was a complete nobody.
A nobody that had noone to count on during his hard times other than himself, a nobody who would find comfort only through harsh words and violence because he was far too frightened of facing the truth. But were his actions actually that bad and that wrong?
Maybe to everyone else, but to him they were like some sort of autodefense, a weird and very gruesome way of getting justice for himself. Maybe the reason behind why he felt no remorse in harming his victims and why he enjoyed torturing them so much was so they could feel the same way that he had been feeling. To show them just how he felt whenever words would be thrown at him for something that he simply cannot change. Disfiguring them might have looked harsh and cruel but they needed to learn their lession, they needed to see the way they would make Kyungwon see himself in the mirror every night. While some models were completely innocent and their only sin was that of being chosen over him, there was no way he could just let them go like that. You think you can get everything you want because youâve been blessed with the so called âperfectâ looks? Lets see how you can deal with suddenly waking up with a disgusting monster staring back at you from the mirror.
Maybe it wasnât his gruesome way of dealing with things the reason behind his choice for the Crimson Coven, it could be much more other than simply thinking that the people under the Silver Coven were weak and pathetic softies. Kyungwon felt hatred towards the human race, for being so judgemental, for being so cruel with their words over things that were âdifferentâ from their own personal believes. They were the actual monsters, selfish and spoiled little pricks. Even when Kyungwon was nothing more but a child there would be harsh words being thrown at him, mocking âjokesâ followed by laughter and fingers being pointed at him for simply the way he was born.
The man stood silent, still trying to regain his breath although the freezing air still stabbed his lungs each time. Heâd shut his eyes tightly trying to concentrate, trying to force himself to form atleast a few flames, atleast some fire to warm himself up but there would be nothing more but sparks appearing from the ground underneath him and around his body, simply no sort of fire was able to survive in that room at the moment. And just as he wanted to warm himself up with atleast his hands (despite them feeling incredebly numb) Kyungwon was left hissing out instead as ice was placed right against his palms the cold interwining with his fingertips leaving clueless of the fact that those were Namjoonâs hands holding his own.
He couldnât feel the given squeeze, he couldnât feel anything for that matter as his body had grown completely numb due to the cold that it was miracle that he could even stay standing up right now, could have been the thick layer of ice that was still holding him in place because Kyungwon expected himself to simply fall to the ground the moment he was free.
Gulping down at those words, there was no way he planned on stepping even lower as to actually tell Namjoon what was wrong. He had seen enough for one day (and heard since he had been both begging and crying) and Kyungwon was ready to close the pages once again and lock everything away.
ââNâŚN-Nothing.ââ he stuttered out, his eyes narrowed with twitching brows. Honestly if he could he would have lashed out at him right now, lash at him for simply standing there and watching him humiliate himself like that. To freeze him in place like a statue so he could admire the pathetic scene. ââY-You shouldnâtâŚh-have fuckingâŚd-done that NamjoonâŚââ Kyungwon muttered, even after everything that had just happend he was still so desperately trying to look tough and threatening. It took him a while to realize that he was still kept in place, making him drop his gaze to the ground once again grunting as he tried to free himself still completely clueless about the fact that the younger had been holding onto his hands this whole time, their fingers interwining perfectly with eachother. ââYouâYouâve humiliated m-me enough! L-Let me go!ââ What started at first as a shout later ended up in a mere whisper, his tone once again switching to that of a begging one unluckily for him.Â
ââD-Did you laugh enough for today? You had your fun like everyone else with me now just let m-me fucking g-go. Ha ha ha, Kim Kyungwon fucking cried and begged. Get fucking ready to tell that around. Iâm already a fucking joke to everyone for my skintone anyway.. ââ the pyrokinetic still struggled to free himself not daring to raise up his head to even look at him. There was no pride left in his eyes, there was  nothing but misery and weakness and Namjoon had seen enough of it for that day.Â
ââJustâŚL-Let me goâŚI-Iâm..soâŚc-cold...I-It hurtsâŚt-to breat..h..e..ââ
It had never been his intention to break Kyungwon down to a degree where the elder did not even dare to do so much as look him in the eyes. While Namjoon had continuously tried not to lose eye contact, his ex partner seemed to be doing the exact opposite. Was he even aware of the proximity of their hands? Judging by the lack of venomous words, the photographer assumed that his limbs had grown so numb that he was unable to feel a single thing. Hell, he doubted Kyungwon would be able to attack him even if he did let go of his hands, and yet the male did not seem to be planning on letting go anytime soon. There was something reassuring about the way in which their hands had fit so well together, whether it be painful or not. If not to soothe the elder, it surely was working miracles on soothing Namjoon.
Instead of interrupting Kyungwon, however, it was silence that filled the room. Even after the other had finished speaking, no words could be heard from Namjoonâs lips. Simply stunned by the sudden change of events, he found himself unable to do anything but listen to the broken words of an obviously very, very damaged boy. The Kyungwon he knew would never give in to the cold; he would never admit he was hurting, and he most certainly wouldnât speak words that could possibly identify him as the victim.
And yet here he was, prideful Kyungwon, completely broken down to pieces.
Had it been his fault? It was a thought that kept rushing through his mind from time to time; a thought he strongly desired to not be true. They had had fights before, fights that had been far worse than this one; but there had never been a time where he had seen Kyungwon as small as he seemed to be right now. âKeep your head held high and show them what youâre made ofââwords that the model had always seemed to live by. It couldnât possibly be that one simple fight between the two of them had caused for this to happen, could it? What had happened in the time he blacked out?
There was only one thing he was sure of at this point, and that was that he absolutely hated to see Kyungwon this way. Contrary to what he was being accused of, Namjoon couldnât bear to laugh. He couldnât even manage a simple smile, let alone find the will nor power to mock him for the mess he had turned into.
Yes, as bad as it made him feel, that was all that was left of Kim Kyungwon. A complete and utter messâbut not one he was about to drag down even further.
âNobody is being humiliated,â are the first words that finally break the silence, the sound of it no more than a hushed whisper. âNobody is making fun of you. I promise.â
And when Namjoon made a promise, he would stick to that promise.
Carefully, the younger freed one of his hands and raised it to the otherâs head instead. It was risky what he was doing, he knew that. Now that Kyungwon was fully conscious again, he would know what was going on, but Namjoon didnât quite care. Heâs always been a bit too reckless for his own good.
Cold digits found their way into red locks of hair, soothingly brushing them away from his forehead. âI already told you, the cameras arenât working right now. Do you really think the people would believe me if I tried to start a rumor about the ever so confident Kyungwon begging me to stop freezing his ass off?â A grin did manage to crack on his face after those words, no matter the gravity of the situation. âIâm not telling anyone.â
His next move was no less risky than him touching Kyungwonâs hair, but he simply couldnât stop himself from doing so. Seems like the part he had left behind with the elder at that time has found its way back to him, causing him to somehow feel protective over this fragile shadow of the pyrokinetic.
Upon Kyungwonâs request, his feet are freed from the ground a few moments after, the ice melting perfectly against the frosted floor. However, Namjoon does not intend on letting him go just yet. Both of his hands are moved towards his chest, pushing Kyungwon backwards against the wall. There was not much harm he could do with the crazy low temperatures they currently found themselves in, and he figured he could best take the bet. âDonât try to fight me,â he warned the other, just in case. âIt is too cold for you to win, Iâll have you frozen again in a second if you dare to do so much as point a flame into my direction. Got it?â
Whether or not he had ill intentions, that didnât take away the fact the he didnât plan on letting Kyungwon go just yet. And he knew Kyungwonâknew him all too well. He wouldâve tried everything to get out of this cold. Perhaps now that he was warned, he would actually think before striking.
âDo you remember what I always used to say about your skintone?â There is no sign of mockery nor hatred in his eyes whatsoever. For a moment, Namjoon has forgotten all about the fact that he is supposed to despise the person in front of him for all that he has done to himâbut how could he hate someone that was once his reason for existing? How could he possibly not worry when he had turned into the biggest mess he had ever seen? Whatever happened after today: it didnât matter. What had happened in this room would stay in this room, but he wouldnât ever forgive himself if he had let Kyungwon run away in this state. Not when he knew the kind of damage similar comments had done to him in the past.
Once again, his hands came up to cup perfectly tanned cheeks, gently tilting his head backwards. âLook at me, hyung.â His thumbs brushed against sharp cheekbones, a dead serious expression lingering on his face. âThe sun simply loved you the most. You got it? And what are some obnoxious humans compared to the sun? With the little amount of sun they got, no wonder theyâd be jealous of you.â
