[carnival event] whack-your-pride. wheein&youngae

the moment she held the hammer, it was a bit heavy, she hopped on her place. “ah, this’ll be fun.” she was giggling and once the machine started, wheein went ahead and knocked the moles right back from where they came from, quite skilfully at it. “wow, this is easy.” the other girl made it look so difficult.
If it had the slightest hint of competition then Youngae had to be the best. There wasn’t even anyone around but her blood was already boiling as the hammer simply bounced off the mole instead of forcing it back down its hole. The girl hated being called weak, but everything pointed to that. It was an easy game any child could take on, yet her turn had ended and her score was simply humiliating. Before anyone could ask to play she started another round to try and beat her own record.
She was definitely doing better, but better didn’t always mean good. Her hits were quicker, but the change of strength was debatable. Youngae, being Youngae, blamed her eminent failure on the sudden distraction that was the woman’s appearance by her side. “Ah, why are doing this?” The girl quickly hit the target the other pointed at - completely because she wanted to, and not because someone told her to - before the game beeped to the end of her turn.
The score was only a little bit higher, yet the girl couldn’t hold herself prouder. Her smile soon started to fade as the woman had just started and the score simply grew quicker and quicker. They had just met but Youngae was already filled with what she knew as hate. “Easy?” She spit it out while trying to focus on the other’s hands. “Well, you must be cheating! What other explanation could you give me?!”
