Crazy - Thranduil x Reader
Warning: This is a bit of a weird horror type piece? Character death, yandere themed story (not exactly though, kind of inspired by Yandere)
Female reader- (not really implied until the end tho)
âStop trying to try and save me from nothing I need to be saved from!â Your voice was like an alarm bell, ringing viciously in Thranduilâs ear as you pulled him from the daydream that he could keep you in his life forever, your tone thick with venom.Â
The titles of the books made your stomach flip, not necessarily in a good way.Â
âHow can you expect me to stand by and watch you die and have to live on without you?!â Thranduil argued back, tears filling his eyes as he stood from his desk. You couldnât meet his eye as your eyes stayed focused on the page he was looking upon, how to make you immortal. Like him.
âI canât lose anyone else again,â Thranduil nearly whimpered as you refused to let his hand cup your face.Â
âIâd do anything to keep our love alive,â Thranduil continued, his hand dropping to his side again only to clench at his robes to fight the instinct to hug you and comfort you.Â
âEven if it means forcing me to live a life I would not want?â You questioned back, snapping your eyes to his finally, your own eyes glassy with unshed tears.Â
âThis was supposed to be a good thingââ
âFor you!â You yelled back, a tear slipping down your face. âYou want to hold me in your selfish clutches, too afraid to lose me and all the while you try to force me to lose everything but you?!â You screamed, your head spinning as you shook your head, the salty taste of teardrops fresh on your lips.Â
âYouâre so selfish,â You gasped out, gripping the desk as you fought to keep your composure.Â
â-I guess I just didnât want it to be trueâŠâ You began again, mumbling as you let out a humorless laugh.Â
âWhat?â Thranduil finally spoke, his voice no longer laced with grief but filled with an unsettling calm.
âThe reason that no one dared to love you,â You answered with no hesitation as the rumors filled your ears once more, the whispers of his obsessive love, how his first wife left barely with her life, how they worried for your safety.Â
âI didnât want to believe how crazy everyone said you were.â
There was once a story of an Ice King sitting upon his throne, waiting for the perfect woman to become his queen. For years he had sat alone, plotting, obsessing, and developing a plan to keep them by his side for all eternity. But besides that, a hole of loneliness began to grow.
All he wanted was someone to love.
Yet love turns to madness, madness to obsession, an obsession to an ending that would belong in no fairytale.Â
So as the screams of yet another âqueen to beâ filled the air, the servants could only send prayers for her soul as they waited for a new arrival.Â
Thranduil blew a silvery strand of hair from his face, blood drops speckling his cheeks as he shook his head at his former bride to be. You were so perfect, yet you had to betray him.Â
And so the Ice King began his search again, his heart clenching at the thought of being alone once more as the Mirkwood became dark yet again around him, your absence of love finally taking ahold of him.
