just to clarify what we’re seeing here:

cully pratt, chris pratt’s brother, a sergeant in the solano county sheriff’s department in california, openly supports the three-percenters, a far-right militia group with ties to the january 6th insurrection at the us capitol among other things, and posts their imagery online.

chris pratt hypes his brother, and has also been seen at public appearances wearing three-percenter symbols, thereby publicly endorsing this shit as well.

i’ve already seen people try to distance chris pratt from this, saying, “it’s his brother, not him!!” hate to break it to you, but when you are a famous person and use your platform to publicly display symbols endorsing far-right hate and white supremacy, that makes you culpable. he is at best completely ignorant, but that’s giving him a lot more credit than he deserves, frankly; even so, even if he actually is just ignorant, that definitely doesn’t give him a pass. there should be accountability no matter what.

The Three Percenters are more than just a right-wing militia. They are a terrorist group and are designated as such by the Canadian government. Here’s a partial list of some of the things they’re responsible for: 2017: -Three Percenters firebombed a mosque in MN., narrowly missing killing & injuring dozens of members who are there for morning prayers. The Threepers responsible told police they wanted to “scare Muslims out of the country.” -A self-identified “Three Percenter” is arrested by the FBI after unsuccessfuly trying to blow up a bank in Oklahoma City with a car bombed modelled after the one used by Timothy McVeigh. -Three Percent militia member Tyler TenBrink fires a handgun at a crowd of people protesting an appearance by white supremacist Richard Spencer. 2018: -Self-proclaimed Three Percent supporter Joseph “Dymond” Vinci - beats a homeless man with a police baton. When the man attempts to defend himself, Vinci shoots him dead. -Three Percenter Joshua Daniel Miller shoots a 23-year-old man to death. 2020: -Three Percenter Benjamin Jong Ren Hung, intentionally drives his truck into a crowd of protesters in Pasadena, California. -A group of volunteer medics arriving to support a counter-protest to a “Back the Blue” rally in Fort Collins, CO are set upon and beaten by Three Percenters militia members. -Thirteen men are arrested after a failed plot to kidnap the governor of Michigan and put her on “trial” for “treason.” At least two of the 13 are in the Three Percenter or Boogaloo Bois militias. -After a pro-Trump rally in Atlanta, Georgia, Three Percent leader Chris Hill and over a dozen masked men rush a group of four counter-protestors leaving the area, hold them at gunpoint and beat them. 2021: -So far 16 Three Percenters have been arrested for taking part in the deadly January 6th insurrection

Well, let’s see: He’s a proud member of a church infamous for it’s homophobia. And he was a Jew for Jesus, or at least worked for them.

Jews for Jesus is a Christian organization that was set up for the sole purpose of trying to convert Jews to Christianity. They do this through deceit, targeting diasporic Jews as well as people looking to convert to Judaism. Their main goal is to fulfil the book of Revelations and bring about the Second Coming, and according to their beliefs the only way that can be accomplished is by getting all the Jews of the world gathered in Jerusalem, and then Jesus can come back, at which point all the Jews will either convert or they’ll die. It’s an antisemitic organization.

So…TL, DR: Chris Pratt is not a good person.

They recognized that the mother was also expressing a vulnerable truth about herself - that she felt like a bad mother because her child was expressing gender feelings she wasn’t equipped to help with - and met her where she was, a concerned parent with limited information - to point her where she should be heading, research and resources.

Im going to make more of an effort to stop reflexively pushing people away when they express biases and make more of an effort to hear the underlying fears when i can

Ok but f’real though, this is such a good example of feminine clothing actually tailored to fit a masculine body.

I think a not insignificant part of the gendered clothing issue is that because men’s clothing is by nature looser fitting, women can wear it and have it look decent on them because the clothing will still fit more or less the way it’s supposed to. The reverse isn’t true - because women’s clothing tends to be tighter, it’s often not going to look good on a man’s body that doesn’t have curves in the same places. But that doesn’t mean that a dress is always going to look terrible on a man, it just means that those dresses need to be purpose built for different body types. And that would help everyone: trans, cis, fat, thin, muscular, skinny, etc

Gillie helps Talita adapt the ASL alphabet and some other signs for her four-digit symmetrical hands. Gillie can keep up with spoken conversations using a live transcription app on her phone, but it has its limits (it’s better than current Auto-Captioners, but it struggles with crosstalk and non-human voices). Talking in sign language is always preferable because Gillie would rather be looking at someone’s face during conversation, not her phone.

and another one is like ”wait so you’re saying humans don’t have stripes.”

”actually they do, but the stripes are invisible. There’s genetic code that’d give them stripes but they’re just the same colour as the rest of the skin. So the visible stripes are not real stripes and the real stripes are invisible.”
