Cygnet, Mute swan Cygnus olor

the cygnets are out at the local duck pond, 7 in total, a good number. There undoubtedly will be many photos of them this year.

these have filled my garden, bright and fleeting. This one appears to have gone slightly through the wars

Carrion Crow Corvus corone

Clever clever birds, they often hang around our local golf course and watch you from the trees.

Lapwing Vanellus vanellus

wetland nesting birds that I love to see fly. I volunteered at a wetland RSPB reserve where these were breeding, one of the best things I have ever done.

Nuthatch, sitta europaea

A frequent visitor to our bird feeder that never fails to delight. I once held one to ring and their beaks are incredibly long and sharp for a small bird. Blue tits hurt more to hold however.

One of my favourite birds to draw, I have drawn more puffins than anything else. I could sit on the cliff edge and watch them all day.
