Day 2157: assembled and glued on some vents and then spent some time filling in the gaps in the centre of the model with sprue glue. Covered up a little detail in spots, getting used to using it properly
Day 2156: taking a brief break from the Khorne lord to start putting this haruspex model together that has been lingering in a box for nearly 6 years
Day 2155: tried adding a lighter layer and some shadows to the cape, not a fan of how abrupt the transitions are, wish it was a bit smoother but it'll have to do. I struggle a lot with layering because I really dislike having visible transitions between layers but I'm not great at blending
Day 2154: dulled down the highlights on the dog a little, painted the gauntlet and faffed about mixing up paints and blending and whatnot on the cape. Not sure I like the colour but I can always do more faffing
Green + yellow + orange is a highly underrated colour combo
Look at her don't you love her
looking for animal references on image searches has always kind of sucked but it's much worse after AI image generation technology has begun to actually past muster, which is why i always just go straight to inaturalist. can't recommend this highly enough. you get to both find out about niche species you've never even heard of and also see some really good photographs like this one

Day 2153: some quick highlights to the blue sections on the dog, will maybe darken that down. Also started painting the claw gauntlet blue too, going to try make it look a bit crab-like, similar to how some people paint nids
Day 2152: dirtied the base details a lot, they look sufficiently grimy and gory now. Also shaded the dog a little, I think it needs some highlights to help it pop
Day 2151: dirtied up the base details a little, will probably need to stain them to get them appropriately grimy and gory. Gave the blue skin on the dog a darker layer, it's closer to the vague idea I have in my head but not quite. May need more shading
Day 2150: quick bit of an orange yellow speed paint on the large bronze sections, then a bronze drybrush followed by a chrome/bronze drybrush and finished with a warm fleshtone wash to all the bronze. Came out looking decent in the end
Day 2149: painted a second layer on some of the bronze areas, really not a fan of the batch of fanatic metallics I have and their coverage. Used Vallejo model air for the silver areas and it covered perfectly in one coat
Day 2148: busted out a new brush with an actual tip to do the first layer on the trim of the armour
Day 2147: started the bronze sections, focused on the non armour trim areas since they're a bit easier
Day 2146: sleepy today so just a little bit of work on the dog. Tried a purple drybrush but it was a bit too bright, think I'll want to do some speckling with a blue and maybe a darker purple
Day 2145: picked out the lower part of the cloak in a dark red and the armour plates in a slightly lighter red
Day 2144: painted the darker sections of the dog, going for a sort of midnight blue look to it. Dirtied down the skulls and heads on the base, they'll need a lot more to tone them down properly
Day 2143: touched up the skulls, painted the teeth on the dog and armour, gave some of the textured sections on the dog a dark blue coat and picked out the heads on the base
