The balcony spilled out into a night that could only belong to London — a velvet sprawl of city lights glittering like sequins on a dark canvas, stitched together by the muted hum of traffic far below. Cars slid across the London Bridge like little beads of light, their motor sounds reduced to a gentle hush at this height. Somewhere in the trees nearby, a couple of lone fireflies blinked in rhythm, as if nature itself felt restless tonight as well.
Your steaming cup of tea sat half-empty on the ledge, the last ghost of the hot fluid fading into the cold air. The thin fleece cardigan on your shoulders was doing nothing to protect you against the cold bite of late September air. Not that it mattered really — the presence beside you was a source of warmth on its own, the kind that starts somewhere deep in your core and waves of it spread to your limbs, slow and fuzzy.
It's been a bit more than a year, since you met Sharky for the first time on one of the NDL's chaotic and strangely magical shoots, where holding back your laugh was the biggest problem you had at work. Back then, you were a freshly graduated young adult, scrambling for a clear life direction, when Niko put out a call for creative editors 'hungry for work and capable of surviving our nonsense'. You’d applied partly because you needed a job, partly because you adored watching NDL and the Beta Squad boys, choking from laughter on your noodles every other Saturday night like it was a tradition of your student life. A rare handful of UK youtubers, relatable enough and whose banter didn't make you skip the video every ten seconds.
A month later, you met the rest of the Beta Squad boys in person, and became a permanent part of the production crew. Upgraded to getting invited to Chunkz’s infamous dinner parties with the amazing food and story-worthy fun time spent. You’d lucked into a little found family this early in your adult life, which made you have that quiet pinch-me gratitude from time to time.
Tonight was one of Niko's legendary 'game night' events. Feeling fuzzy and warm inside, after a few exhilarating rounds of mafia and physically exhausting charades, you slipped outside for a breather to the balcony with the best view in all of London — the introvert’s survival tactic in a crowded place.
You'd only been there for a few minutes, when you heard the door behind you slid open again, followed with the soft rustle and a whiff of a warm cologne, which tugged at your senses and revealed its owner to you way before you turned your head to look.
And then, in that maddeningly friendly voice, that made it too hard for your meticulous brain to read too much into it:
"Hey."
God help you.
You've been in this kind of state for a bit more than a month now. Confused and lost, you were borderline considering writing it all out in a laptop, to organize this messy jumble of feelings inside you properly. Shelf the necessary ones and get rid of the rest.
You kept things professional at all times. Mostly.
Or did you?
You talked with him about the party, winter holiday plans, future video projects — safe topics that let you pretend you were just chatting with a colleague. But it didn’t stop the ache in your chest and a pull somewhere deep down, which your rationalism wasn't yet ready to face.
But one thing was undeniable: the feeling of attraction (or whatever it was you didn't want to put a name on yet) overflowing from within your heart towards a boy who was standing right next to you at the moment, holding a red cup of some drink that was definitely not alcohol. You sighed.
Yeah right, an agonizingly perfect man that he was. Sharky was gazing up at the moon, its light reflecting in his large, insufferably beautiful brown eyes. His eyes twinkled before they turned and settled down on you. Your stomach sank.
His mouth twitched. “What's with the face? Plotting your revenge on Niko already?”
“Considering it,” you said, feigning seriousness, but smiling with a corner of your mouth. “After that long-necked lying bastard went after me in every round, anyone would.”
“Well, now you know how Kenny feels,” said Sharky, and you both burst out laughing.
"AJ was on your ass the whole time too."
"Yep. Wonder how he is feeling now."
"Probably scraping the last shards of his ego off the floor.”
“That's… Bold talk coming from someone who lost to me in Uno thirteen times in a row,” Sharky smirked slowly. You met his eyes with a challenge, struggling not to smile back. You narrowed your eyes.
“Well, clearly, I underestimated the size of that evil mastermind brain of yours," you turned your body towards him and leaned on the balcony fence, feeling bold all of a sudden. Sharky was looking down at you, his hands folded behind his back, that lazy crooked smile of his in place, and you shivered. "You’re really not going to let me forget that, are you?”
He grinned a devastatingly attractive smile that probably came standard with him at birth. God. Did he always smile like he was flirting with everyone, or was it just you?
“And yet, here you are. Still playing games with me.”
The possible double meaning of his words hung in the air with thick tension. He had no right to be giving you cryptic messages, you thought, the truth of his words stinging your ego slightly.
“Idiot,” you muttered, rolling your eyes and turning back to the city view. "I am," you added quietly, more to yourself than him, but didn't notice Sharky's attentive gaze fixed on you for a few more seconds.
You unconsciously shivered, not at the cold night air, but mostly at the sheer intensity of how badly you didn't want to name what you were feeling. Falling for someone, this fast and deep, felt like balancing on the edge of a skyscraper, blindfolded. The pragmatic, practical overthinker in you thought so, at least.
A streak of the Drake-Chris-Brown-and-PND jam inside the house — which was most probably run by Chunkz till now — finally stopped, letting the slow beginning notes of Frank Ocean's 'Moon River' slip into the starry night. You hummed in approval, letting out a breath you didn't even know you were holding, and closed your eyes.
♪ Moon River, wider than a mile I'm crossing you in style someday… ♪
"Such an underrated tune," you murmured out loud.
"It is," Sharky replied, his voice low and slightly surprised at your acknowledgment of the song. Your eyes curiously met his glinting ones. "What's your favorite Frank Ocean song?" he continued, seeming genuinely interested.
A smile tugged at your lips; music — safe territory.
"Am I gonna sound too basic if I say White Ferrari and this one?" you cheesed awkwardly. Sharky's corners of the mouth slowly crawled upwards, and he tilted his head to the side, as if weighing out your question.
“But then,” you went on thoughtfully, warming up to the topic, “there’s 'Pyramids'— best ten minutes in the history of music. 'Ivy', 'Chanel', 'Rushes', that Aaliyah's cover from Endless… Oh, and 'Good Guy', 'Close to You' — but only the live versions. Way better than the studio. And—"
"Alright, alright, we get it," Sharky interrupted you, laughing. "Number one Frank Ocean fan is in the building."
“You’re one to talk,” you shot back at his mocking laughter, “with your Blonde-infested Spotify Wrapped for seven years now! So don't even try, I am NOT being pretentious or showing off, you fanboy."
"Okay, okay, I believe you, I didn't even say none of those things!" he lifted his hands in surrender, still giggling, and you shot him an indignant look, clutching your cardigan even tighter, in faux offence.
"Well, you know damn well, you can never have only one favorite Frank song though," you murmured, looking away with the fading butterflies in your stomach.
He smiled, mouthing "true", looking at you for a second too long.
The silence settled in softly, while Frank's heavenly vocals worked their magic at the background. The chilly breeze was getting interrupted by gusts of wind traveling all the way up from the heart of London.
♪ My dream maker, you heartbreaker, Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' the same ♪
You shuddered involuntarily, the thin fleece cardigan doing nothing to prevent goosebumps travelling down your body. Sharky turned his head to you, noticing your slight shiver, opening his mouth, as if to say something, when you mumbled:
"I think it's getting colder in here. I will head back in," your eyes took in the picturesque night scenery one last time, preparing to leave.
"No, stay—" you heard Sharky say hesistantly, with a barely noticeable note of what you assumed to be urgency. A moment, shorter than a second, longer than eternity, hung loose in the air between you two.
The corners of your lips lifted up, and arching your eyebrow, you turned your amused, slightly teasing face towards Sharky. Even in this darkness, you could have sworn Sharky was flustered.
"Uh, I just mean, I…" The hand moved to fumble with the cap on the back of his head. His eyes scrambled to find a fixed point to focus on, quickly running all over the place, and choosing your left shoulder, away from the amusement of your eyes. "I have a coat, maybe it's warmer up here." He looked at you with his usual boyish grin — like it could erase the crack in his composure — and opened his puffer coat widely, inviting smile in place, audaciously beckoning you in. What is this guy on, you thought dumbfoundedly, feeling a warm tug behind your chest regardless, the heat filling you up till your cheeks, no doubt coloring them a visible shade even in this darkness. Was he trying to fluster you now?
With the best impression of nonchalance and confidence that surprised even you, you gave a calm "alright" before stepping forward right into Sharky's warm, outstretched arms.
He closed the coat around both of you, surprisingly fitting you both well. His overcompassing smell invaded all your senses.
Sharky was everywhere.
You closed your eyes unconsciously and tentatively wrapped your hands around his sweater, resting them on his back. Your nose brushed the soft cashmere of his sweater, your eyes fixing on the dangling pendant of a little silver shark, before drifting upwards to meet his piercing gaze. He was looking at you, full of thought and unhidden tenderness. City lights far below reflected in the darks of his irises, like constellations, drowning in deep waters.
Music swelled in the night, 'Moon River' filling every quiet space between you. Without thinking, you both started slowly swaying left and right to the music at the back. His smile softened genuinely, and you felt something give way inside you, your own smile relaxing too.
"Any warmer now?"
"Much," you answered, chuckling.
You glanced into his eyes, and the universe tilted. His hands around you tightened imperceptibly, and you did not dare breathe out, your mouth going dry all of a sudden, when your eyes landed on his lips.
You looked at his face. What if you didn't overthink? What if you just embraced it, accepted it, let it be? All the chaos, the feelings, the turmoil inside. What if you let your heart, and not your brain, guide you for once? What if, just this time, you let yourself fall?
♬Two drifters off to see the world It's such a crazy world, you'll see We're all chasin' after our ends ♬
You caught a stable pulsating point on his neck right at the level of your eyes. With some invisible force inside you lifting you off your feet, you leaned in and planted a feather-light soft kiss on that pulse point.
Sharky's breath caught, barely noticeable, but you noticed. His eyes darkened with something that made your knees weak, he swallowed hard.
"What are you doing?" he asked quietly, evaluating every word that was being spoken, voice caught between surprise and something softer.
"Having an impossible urge to kiss you," you said simply. You were answering honestly for the first time in a long while. The simple truth tasted terrifyingly sweet and felt easy to admit, in that tiny, intimate space, where your breaths mingled.
He paused for a beat, searching your face, contemplating the weight of your answer, unreadable. It seemed like ages before he responded to you.
You could visibly see Sharky's face softening when he asked you. "Then why don’t you give in?"
His words were light, but there was a whole grand universe of feelings in his eyes — vulnerability, hope, readiness to laugh it off any second, in case you brushed it off, an escape route, if you said you didn’t mean it, all enveloped and topped off by a smile so full of tenderness that you could fill up oceans and revive forests with it.
The look Sharky gave you was so earnest, so achingly familiar, that your heart made a decision at that exact moment. Making the decision was so simple, really. You nodded, so faintly that you barely realized you did.
But that was all he needed.
His hands sprawled on your back, moving up towards your neck, fingers spreading like roots, tangling in your hair, and then his mouth caught yours. Warm, soft, and unhurried, in contrast to your cold, nervous fingers, trembling as they traced the warm skin above his collarbone at the dip of his neck. Your mind was trying to scramble what was going on, gathering your last remnants of conscience. He exhaled shakily, catching one of your shivering hands in his, anchoring you right then and there.
You continued kissing until you thought you'd pass out from the burn in your breathless lungs, until your pulse was thrumming in your eardrums, until you knew you’d never be able to hear 'Moon River' the same way again.
You finally broke away, skin flushed, breath ragged, foreheads resting against each other. In a few seconds of mutual silence, you were absorbing every inch of his face, trying to remember everything from this moment, this night.
His eyelids lowered, soft and uncertain, as he leaned close enough for his breath to brush your cheek. The tip of his nose grazed yours fleetingly, a gesture so tender it made your heart stutter.
Sharky whispered your name and hesitated, his lips parting, gaze flicking between your eyes and your mouth. You could see the war he was waging on inside himself: the magnetic pull to kiss you senselessly again, versus the need to finally voice the words that had been clawing at the back of his throat for weeks now. Words he'd rehearsed a dozen times in his head treacherously faded away.
But you didn’t need to hear Sharky speak to know what he meant. That he was in too deep. That this wasn't anything impermanent for him. That he wanted this — wanted you — not just for tonight, but for however long you’d let him stay. That even if you didn't let him stay, he'd still fight to stay somewhere in your horizon, in the line of your sight. That he was terrified of ruining whatever good thing you already had, of tossing a grenade into the comfort of friendship for the chaos of more. That he didn’t know how to start, only that not starting was becoming unbearable.
His lips twitched as if to voice it all out, but you didn’t let him, your thumb tracing the corner of his lips and your fingers pressing softly against his mouth, stilling it. His lashes fluttered surprisingly, and then his gaze softened in recognition of your silent understanding, your don’t say it, I know. His eyes had already told you everything you needed to know.
♫ Wherever you’re going, I’m going your way ♫
The moment hung between you, fragile as glass, as Frank Ocean’s honeyed voice melted away into the night.

The sunlight was already prying its fingers between the slats of the wooden shutters by the time you woke up, eyes crusty with sleep and limbs sore in the pleasant way a holiday promises — the kind of soreness that comes from beach swims and lazy afternoon walks in worn sandals. The air smelled faintly of sea salt, fresh basil, and the unmistakable whiff of whatever was burning in the kitchen.
You stumbled out into the open-plan living space of your rented seaside villa - a tucked-away gem in Majorca - still barefoot and wrapped in the matching linen robe you’d both bought at the little corner market the day you arrived.
And there he was.
Jude Bellingham.
Your boyfriend of almost two full years.
Jude’s robe was already dangerously loose at the waist, hanging from him like a toga as he stood at the stove with the reckless confidence of an ancient Roman demigod who’s both oblivious to modesty and slightly too smug about his breakfast-making skills.
Fresh from his run (of course he’d gone for a run on holiday, Jude couldn’t not move — his idea of rest was jogging half the coastline before breakfast), his curls damp and springy from a quick rinse, his cheeks flushed from the coastal air, the hard planes of his chest bronze with delicious tan.
“Morning, love,” he beamed at you widely and your heart punched your ribcage, the way it did every time he smiled at you like you were made of something rare and delicate. “Made your favourite omelette. With chorizo. And mushrooms, I think. Might’ve been olives. Or both.”
You greeted him with a slow, indulgent kiss and a casual swat to his bum — not lost on him, if the cocky little smirk was anything to go by — before collapsing onto one of the stools at the white kitchen island. “Look at you. You spoil me.”
“My lifetime job,” he replied proudly, tossing fruits into a blender with overexaggeration. “Wait till you try my smoothie.”
You laughed, taking a sip from the coffee that was served to you by him, and admiring the casual mess of the kitchen: the paprika jar uncapped, egg shells balanced precariously on the edge of the sink, his trainers kicked off at the door in an impressively uneven way. He was chaos. Your own, handsome, domestic chaos.
You leaned your elbows on the marble countertop and watched him move — the energetic rhythm of his. It wasn’t something you ever thought you’d be lucky enough to witness. But there he was.
Small talk flowed easily as he turned his back and began a very serious, borderline obsessive mission of adding an entire farmer’s market of strawberries into the blender and stating importantly that “strawberries contain three times more vitamin C than oranges” and something along the lines of "because you need more color in your cheeks". His grin reached his eyes, boyish and slightly smug.
You, meanwhile, sneakily placed your phone upright behind a fruit platter, camera aimed at the center of this domestic heaven. It was time to record. One of those deceptively simple, viral TikTok trends where bilingual couples yell compliments at their partners in their native tongue, with as much conviction and faux fury as possible. You’d watched the videos over the past week, giggling each time at the partners’ bewildered faces. It was, in the grand scheme of relationship dynamics, harmless fun. And besides, Jude had it coming.
You’d been trying to teach him Spanish ever since he signed with the club in Madrid. Almost a year now of gentle correction, gringo Spanglish during arguments that made no grammatical sense, and Enrique Iglesias's discography fully memorized. As a result, his pronunciation was surprisingly good, his grammar reasonably tolerable, and truth be told, he learned more from Spanish soap operas you would watch together than that terrorizing green bird app he downloaded in the very beginning.
Spanish was something he’d tried to learn for you — God bless him — but his level hovered somewhere between “¡vamos! Hala Madrid!” and getting lost mid-sentence while ordering in a restaurant.
The opportunity was right there and you were determined to take it.
“Aaand it’s ready!” he announced proudly, placing the plate in front of you with a flourish like it was a five-star dish and not just eggs with sausage.
You took a reverent bite, nevertheless. “Mmm.”
Then, waiting out a few moments after Jude happily returned to proceed with the milkshake, dramatically, venomously — in your best telenovela voice — you barked:
“¡Dios mío! ¡No puedo creer que un ser humano tan espectacular camine por esta Tierra y DECIDA TROPEZARSE CONMIGO de todas las personas!” (Oh my God! I can't believe such a spectacularly handsome human being walks this Earth and decides to bump into me of all people!)
Jude froze, his fingers hovering over a blender's dial, looking like he wasn't sure if he needed to duck or run away. His face flickered through several emotions: confusion, fear, the subtle panic of a man who might’ve just insulted a culture, a cuisine, or worse, his fiancé's culture and cuisine without knowing it.
“Um… ¿qué?” he said, blinking rapidly, his voice a little small.
You pushed the dramatic flair into overdrive. Your tone clipped and fast in a way only Spanish can be, hands gesturing wildly like an exceptionally overdramatic soap opera heroine.
“¿Cómo gané esto? ¿Cómo te asignó el universo a mí? ¿Nadie más se presentó a la lotería de novios? ¡Simplemente no puedo creer mi suerte, aquí mismo, ahora mismo, contigo, este increíble plato de comida!” (Like, how did I win this? How did the universe assign you to me? Did no one else show up to the boyfriend lottery? I just can't believe my luck; I am right here, right now, with you, and this incredible plate of food!)
He looked down at the omelette, then up at you. Eyebrows scrunched. Food? Was it too salty? Had he overdone the paprika? You saw the gears grinding — his internal Spanish-English dictionary flipping frantically. He looked like he didn't even use his critical thinking skills this extensively on the pitch, playing for 11 players at the same time, all on his own.
You amped it up.
“¡Mírate! ¡Sí, tú! ¡Esos brazos fuertes, bendecidos, tus piernas — las más poderosas de toda España — y esa carita preocupada tan adorable que quiero besar en los labios veinticuatro-siete! ¡Dios! ¡La vida no es justa a veces, sabes? Para los demás. Pero no para mí. Porque te tengo a ti.” (Look at you! Yes, you! Those strong, blessed arms, your legs — the strongest in all of Spain — and that adorable, worried face that I want to kiss on the lips twenty-four-seven! God! You know, life isn't fair sometimes. When it comes to others. Not for me though. Because I got you.”)
Jude’s mouth twitched. Just a little. A flicker of understanding dawning in the corners of his smirk like a sunbeam breaking through cloud. He was onto you.
At the sight of his enchantingly infectious small smile, you tried — valiantly — not to smile yourself. But it was already bubbling behind your strained cheeks, like fizzy soda. He walked toward you slowly, cat-like, smugness blooming across his face. He rested his arms on the counter and leaned in, his mouth close.
“¿Y ahora qué hago? ¿Con este desayuno tan perfecto que preparaste?” you fired back quickly, gesturing at the plate like it insulted your family. (What do I do now? With this perfect breakfast you made me?)
“Want me to remake the breakfast?” he said, already reaching for it cheekily.
“¡NO! ¡ME ENCANTA!” you roared in Spanish, pulling the plate to yourself like something sacred. You grabbed a greasy chorizo from the plate and aggressively tore into it. (No! I love it!)
Jude burst into laughter and retaliated in his best adorably accented Spanish: “¡ME ENCANTA TAMBIÉN!” (I also love it!) He grabbed a chorizo as well and munched on it violently like a caveman. “I like you liking it!”
You both locked eyes, your face flushed with stifled giggles, his with the cocky thrill of understanding the game you were playing. You couldn't hold it in any longer, you laughed contagiously, keeping your last bits of composure and yelling:
“¡TE AMO!” (i love you)
Jude slammed a hand on the counter like he was accepting a duel. “¡TE AMO TAMBIÉN! ¡TE AMO MÁS!” (i love you too, i love you more)
“¡TE QUIERO!” (i adore you)
“¡TE QUIERO MUCHÍSIMO!” he bellowed back, the robe comically hanging loose at the waist. (I adore you a lot)
"¡ENTONCES DAME UN BESO, BELLINGHAM, DAMN IT!" You planted your hands on your hips and shouted indignantly. (Well then, give me a kiss!)
"Oh, ¿quieres un beso, amor? OH I’LL GIVE YOU LOTS OF BESOS! Come here,” he declared with a melting grin and quickly cupped your cheeks in his warm hands like you were gonna escape any moment now. (Oh you want a kiss, love?)
He kissed you square on the mouth, long and messy, your laughter impeding the collision of your lips. You felt his lips curl into a smile and a deep chuckle escape his broad chest, under your palms. The kind of kiss that tasted spicy like paprika and sweet like strawberries and full of loud tenderness.
You laughed into his mouth, pulling at his robe, accidentaly letting it fall open.
When you broke apart, gasping and giggling, you leaned into his chest and whispered, “You understood more than I thought. I'm impressed.”
He rested his forehead against yours, his finger trailing along your jawline. “I always do. Especially when you're yelling at me.”
You barely noticed the camera still recording behind you — but in the frame, both of you were lit golden by the late morning sun, grinning like idiots in love.

"Jamal, you promised me this. You can't back down right now,” she says, her voice light with laughter as she disappears into the hallway, leaving the faintest trail of vanilla and something sweetly floral in the air — a scent that always lingered on his hoodie sleeves for hours after she wore them.
Jamal groaned like a man being led to the gallows. He reached back into the steamy bathroom with his hand and flicked off the lights, all damp curls with a towel knotted low around his waist with a stubbornness that mirrored his attitude at the moment. “Love, you know I trust you,” he calls out, reluctantly trudging after her, “but at the same time, I don’t trust you. Does that make sense?”
Too late because she was already waiting for him at the edge of their bed, wearing a plush white bathrobe that reached her knees, sleeves shoved up to her elbows, as if in preparation for some ritual. In one hand, she held a small pink razor, and in the other, a pair of tweezers that she wielded like two swords with far too much confidence.
“Jamal,” she deadpans, tilting her chin and raising her eyebrow, the demeanor that meant no arguments. “Bed. Now.”
He throws his hands up in mock defeat. “You’re abusing your powers way too much,” he mumbles, even as he obediently flops back onto the cloud-soft comforter, the navy blue one she insisted on because it reminded her of “night skies in late September.” It still smelled faintly of lavender dryer sheets and her. "And if I haven't said it enough times already, I personally don't think they're too thick."
Jamal leaned back onto the bedding with a dramatic sigh, closing his eyes as if awaiting a crucial surgery on his ACL.
"Baby, I heard you the first time, and yes, I agree, your eyebrows are perfect but just a tad bit chaotic and out of control…" she bites on the inside of her cheek, trying not to laugh upon noticing a sulky expression on his boyish face. "I promise you, a few plucks and I'll be done," she cooed with a convincing tone of a mother chiding her child into another spoon of broccoli soup.
“Fine,” he mutters. “But not too thin, I wanna preserve at least 70 percent of my masculinity.”
“I’ll give you 75,” she said solemnly, climbing on top of his legs, brows knit in concentration, like a painter about to begin on a delicate canvas.
She giggles in an excited throat-deep kind that crinkles her eyes and makes her nose scrunch. “You’ll look gorgeous, trust me. And if not, well…” She shrugs, one knee carefully placed on either side of his torso as she straddles him with surgeon-level focused look. “We’ll draw them back on with my brow pencil. I’ve done worse things to you.”
Jamal opens one eye. “That’s not really comforting.”
She ignores him, tugging a soft cotton headband over his hairline. He watches her, something soft melting in his chest, as she pushes her own still-wet hair behind her ear — droplets escaping and falling onto his bare chest, cool against his skin. She smells like their shared body wash, all warm honey and clean skin. Her hands are gentle but practiced as she brushes his brows with a spoolie brush, her thumb resting on his temple.
“I can't believe you’re really going through with this,” he murmurs, watching her face so close to his.
“Shush. You let me pick your sneakers for you, choose your cologne, and steal half of your hoodies. This is the logical next step,” she says, without missing a beat, tongue poking slightly out in concentration as she reaches for the tweezers.
The tiny pinch makes him flinch. “Ouch, woman!”
“Oh please, that was one hair. Man up.” She grins, wicked and loving the current situation she ended up in.
He watches her above him — the slight crease between her brows when she focuses, the way her lips purse when she’s being precise, the soft dip in her collarbone exposed by the robe’s loose neckline. Her presence is so close, her weight grounding, her touch familiar. There’s music playing faintly from her phone in the corner — something slow, something in Spanish that neither of them fully understand but pretend to anyway, with their 'un poco Español'.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” she asks, pausing mid-tweeze.
Jamal shakes his head, smile lazy, eyes heavy with affection. “Just thinking how I’m letting you ruin my face and still think I am the luckiest man on Earth.”
She softens — visibly, palpably — and rests the tweezers down for a beat. Her hands settle on his shoulders, fingers warm and damp from the steam still clinging to their skin.
“You already have a perfect face,” she whispers, tilting forward to press a featherlight kiss just between his brows. “I’m just helping you reach next level.”
Jamal hums, sliding his hands up her thighs beneath the robe, resting them gently there, thumb brushing slow circles. A moment of locked eyes passes, a beat too long. “Weren't you supposed to be doing my brows, love?”
She leans closer, water droplets from her hair dripping slightly on his collarbone.
“I was,” she says, voice quieter now, breath warm on his face. “But you’re making it hard to focus.”
The moment stretches — warm and sweet and a little breathless — like the way Sundays feel before the sun comes out, like the feel of fresh bedsheets and tangled legs with someone you know so well that they start feeling like home.
She doesn’t move for a while, just looks down at him, fingers tracing lightly from his Adam's apple down to his neck. Jamal stays perfectly still, letting her hover above him, feeling the beat of her heart through the robe, the weight of her presence in every sense. The lights are soft, and her scent of vanilla still hangs in the air.
Neither of them speak, not for a long minute. Because they don’t need to. Everything’s already being said in the space between a drip of water on skin, the slow press of knees into the mattress, the lazy roll of a finger on a thigh.
Eventually, she smirks, poking his chest playfully. “So. Still don’t trust me?”
Jamal grins, fingers tightening around her legs. “Not at all.”
She finishes the final stroke on Jamal’s left brow, squinting with satisfaction. She leans back on his thighs to admire her handiwork — her robe slipping slightly open at the collar, oblivious to the visual effect it has on him.
“There,” she says, gently putting the tweezers and razor aside like precious surgical tools. “You survived.”
Jamal raises an eyebrow — perfectly shaped now. His eyes, unbeknownst to her, drop down to her cleavage, as he mutters. “Barely.”
She smirks, leaning down to kiss the spot she plucked last. “Don’t be dramatic. You look hot. Even hotter than before, if that’s even possible.”
He rolls his eyes, trying to keep a straight face, but the corner of his mouth lifts just slightly. She notices.
Before he can get up and retreat to the safety of his own post-shower business, she catches his chin with her fingers of one hand, and stops his chest with the other. “Not so fast, sir. We’re not done here yet.”
He groans. “Nooo…”
She’s already squeezing out aloe vera gel into her palm. “No backing out. You said ‘yes’ when you agreed to full care.”
“I thought you meant only plucking,” he complains dramatically, but Jamal still lets her push him back to the pillows, trapping him between her knees again. His towel is still wrapped around his waist, but now it feels increasingly fragile, as he feels the knot loosen.
She spreads the gel gently across his cheeks, thumbs massaging in slow circles. His skin is still warm from the shower. “Your pores are open. Perfect time.”
“You sound way too happy about that.”
She laughs, and it sends a ripple of heat through him. The pads of her fingers press gently beneath his eyes, smoothing the gel upward with practiced precision.
As she works, she studies his face in quiet admiration — long lashes that curl unfairly for a man, brows now clean and regal, already sun-kissed and glowing skin. Her gaze latches on his lips, parted slightly as he breathes, soft and full. She swallows.
“Pretty boy,” she murmurs, not even realizing she said it aloud.
Jamal doesn’t respond, but a slow-blooming heat spreads across his chest, almost reaching his cheeks. His throat tightens slightly — not from her touch, but from what it does to him. He wants to kiss her then and there, but he knows better. He just smiles lazily, letting her finish her ministrations, soaking in her scent and the warmth of her thighs brushing his sides.
She pulls away, fingers lightly tapping away the remnants of a moisturizer on his forehead. “Alright. Your torture is officially over.”
“I don’t know…” he drawls sleepily. “I think I'm already missing it.”
She tilts her head, grinning. “Weirdo.”
He smirks but doesn’t deny it.
Jamal almost feels disappointed, when he feels her get up to proceed with her own body-care. They settle into a comfortable rhythm in the cozy hum of shared bedroom. She moves to her side of the bed, lotioning her legs with smooth, practiced strokes. Jamal busies himself, fighting with his damp curls in front of the mirror, sneaking glances at her when she’s not looking — or at least, when he thinks she doesn’t notice.
The scent of her body oil fills the room — something warm, amber-sweet and floral, catching the glow of her skin in the bedside lamp’s soft halo. She hums some melody faintly, rubbing the shimmer into her collarbones, then over the curve of her hips. Jamal stares just a beat too long.
He’s composed on the outside, but there’s a slow, steady fire building in his chest, his gut tightening with every graceful movement she makes. She’s not doing it to tease. That’s the worst part — this is just her being herself. Beautiful, unbothered, unaware of how devastatingly breathtaking she casually looks in the haze of their room.
“What kind of oil is that?” he says, voice casual as he sets his brush down.
She glances over her shoulder. “Hmm? Oh, it’s that Moroccan rose and honey one you got me from the boutique in München. Remember?”
He nods, slowly strolling closer to their bed, pretending to think.
“I wonder if it’s edible, though,” he says off-handedly.
She turns to look at him, brows furrowed slightly. “What?”
He shrugs, stopping just in front of her, eyes fixed on her collarbone now glistening under the oil. “I’m just curious. Like, purely hypothetically.”
There’s a beat. She blinks, mouth parting as realization sets in, corner of her lip twitching upwards.
“What are you—”
“I mean, I just wonder…” Jamal cuts in, voice dropping an octave, “if it tastes as good as it smells…”
Her breath catches.
The moment shifts. The air stretches — warm, thick, buzzing. Her hands pause, over her thigh and his gaze lingers there. “I hate you,” she whispers, her intrigued smile contrasting her words, eyes narrowing, but the way her breath flutters betrays her.
“Nah, you don't. You love me,” he says, taking the bottle from her hand and setting it aside with exaggerated care.
"Remind me to never groom your eyebrows again, it seems to have broken your libido mechanisms."
He chuckles leaning in close enough to brush his lips just near her jaw, his breath feathering against her ear. Her skin is glowing, the light from the bedside lamp casting golden shadows across her chest, the hollow of her throat, her shoulders…
“Shall we test the theory?”

how rare and beautiful it truly is that we exist [saturn– sleeping at last]
pairing: jamal musiala x fem!reader
summary: it's the knockout stage for germany for the 2024 euro, and as usual you're there to support your boyfriend, accompanied by some bad weather and a bet to spice up the evening.
genre(s): fluff (as usual)
[w.c: 3.3k] masterlist
notes: I had such a fun time writing this shut upppp shsjssj. this one is for my musiala girlies xx
"this weather is going to be the death of me," you said and took your seat beside your friends sophia and aaliyah who were huddled together in attempt to defeat the crisp yet strong german wind.
you tucked your chin into your scarf, but even then it didn't help. the three of you actually remembered to dress warm for today's match, unlike the last few games where you whole heartedly believed that the rain was just an episode.
before leaving the house sophia had to remind both you and aaliyah to bring scarfs because she had a bad feeling. so here you were, at the stadium in dortmund dressed in a pair of jeans, a cream knitted jumper, and a wool jacket that unfortunately hid your football jersey with your boyfriend's name decorated at the back.
hands down one of the best works in jamal musiala tag
Just need to rant a bit.
In the fictional world, Lily and James Potter fight and die in a war simply to create a safer and more accepting world. In this fictional universe they’re battling purebloods who think James should only marry a pureblood because Lily is a muggleborn and, therefore, "unacceptable." They’re fighting so that Lily has a right to wield her wand, has a right to have her family, and has a right to hold a job.
Doesn’t this struggle sound familiar with current events in our world? Yet, in OUR real world, within this very fandom, James is often separated from Lily to fulfill a romantic pairing with another Pureblood.
So in every universe, even this very real one, their characters face the same dilemma: Lily’s struggle and experience is dismissed. This dismissal erases the complex and imperative dynamic of Lily and James Potter quite literally changing the state of their world by loving each other unabashedly and loudly despite the constant threats and oppression Lily faced.
Okay done.
For now.

are you really normal if you have an unhealthy obsession with like two fandoms, one about crows who commit crimes, the other about dead gay wizards?

a kiss for the head boy !!
I’m 32 years old. I’ve got no money and no prospects, but I do have 18 years of being a marauders fan gathered up here in my hippocampus. I have been here since the very beginning. I was there when the fandom was turned upside down by the Snape’s Worst Memory chapter. I was in the trenches during the snily wars when The Princes Tale chapter was published. I have watched this fandom grow and diversify in the best ways possible. However, I am here today to promise you that James Potter didn’t have eyes for anyone but Lily Evans his entire life. He would do anything for her. He loved and believed in her so much that he died for her, for the product of their love. There are 4100 pages that you can get this information from. Thank you for coming to my tedtalk.
