To the people in the OTW Tumblr Inbox asking about how the OTW is responding to the American Election.

This is a separate post (and not a response to a specific message) because we all need to see it.

Folks have been asking Support (through the form) as well as the other social media mods, and we have now been given the following to tell you.

We are continuing to closely monitor political developments that may affect AO3 and the OTW as a whole. First, we want to assure you that there are several factors that tend to protect AO3 and its users from legal risks and challenges. These include that we are a non-profit, do not host images, do not use algorithms to promote or advertise content to users, are not aimed at children, and collect very little user data. The results of the 2024 U.S. election are deeply concerning, but the OTW remains committed to providing an inclusive space for fannish expression and will continue to fight for fans' free expression, both in court and through legislative efforts, in the U.S. and worldwide. We have seen that fans are a powerful force for promoting free expression, and we will continue to inform people about opportunities for their voices to be heard. If a bill is likely to be passed in the future that could impact our ability to provide services, our legal team will be prepared to offer updates, guidance, and legal support to our users. Fans are not alone in this fight. Both the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) (https://www.aclu.org/news/civil-liberties/the-aclu-is-fighting-back-against-trump ) and the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) (https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2024/11/2024-us-election-over-eff-ready-whats-next ) made preparations for this outcome and have developed strategies to combat anticipated efforts to curtail online freedoms. We urge our users to support these organizations and others as they fight for your rights and ours.

But fear not, dear readers! (for the very few of you who are here and are readers :D) All the pieces are set in place for Arc 2 as we wrap up Arc 1, and I'm very excited to start lighting things on fire! Enough with head trauma; it is time for arson!

Questions I have about clones from someone who has family members in military active duty:

Do they have PT (physical training) when they're not in a combat zone? Like, does the Corrie Guard go for runs around base at oh five hundred every morning?

Do the ground troops have Company PT when they're back on Coruscant for a while? Sure they maybe get shore leave (is that even canon?) But that can't last forever.

Okay and say they do have PT or at the very least they did when they were in training still on Kamino. Do they sing cadence? Did their training sergents teach them songs like

"I don't need no teenage queen

I just want my Deece-15" (slight modification to an actual cadence)

We know in Legends they know Dha Wherda Verda and Vode An but those aren't cadence they're motivation songs.

So what would a clone cadence sound like?

Sneak peek of what's to come in Chapter 14

A fanfic trope I will never get tired of is a Corrie finding the ugliest, most horrific couch to ever be created, digging it out of the trash, and thinking “you know who needs a couch so ugly looking at it will give you an instant lobotomy? My favorite big brother!” And they haul that monstrosity all the way up to HQ and put it in Commander Fox’s office. And it turns out to be the comfiest thing ever, like a cloud made of nightmares.

New fic: A Little List - Runi's back story

Guess which fuckin muppet forgot to update. It's this guy.

Anyways this fic, A little list, was inspired by skippy's List which is a list of things specialist skippy is not allowed to do in the US military. I found it fit Runi fairly well because the kid is a nihilistic riot and a recurring character so I wanted to expand on him without derailing the main plot and giving you guys another little guy to keep track of.
