It's finally done! Nothing like the last 24 hours of prep time to kick me into gear. Sunstreaker is gonna be so stylin'.

Ever wonder what Bulkhead would transform into if he started with the '84 cast?
How about a M1078 Light Medium Tactical cargo truck?
@foxxiwaves and I have hooked up with a local model building group, and now we're eager to pad out our collection of Transformers alt modes in new ways. I'm aiming to complete Bulkhead for the Military Vehicles show-and-tell in September. I've never build a truck before, so we'll see how this goes, but I'm getting a lot of ideas toward customizing the kit for what fits this character.
howdy sorry if this is a silly question but what line is the scavenger toy you posted with your sketch for your cosplay of him? im pretty new to transformers but scavenger is one of my favorites and i really like the toys with the articulated fingers. love the cosplan as well btw, the overalls are perfect for him and i bet his buckets gonna look so cool💜💚
Hi! This is X-Transbots Gravedigger (Youth version for the G1 toy inspired deco), a masterpiece-scale figure. I have three of their Constructicons and they're all stellar.
I appreciate it!
I've been away from Transformers Cosplay since TFCon LA, so I enjoyed finalizing my Scavenger outfit for what will likely be TFCon Baltimore in 2027. Very excited about this one. The purple overalls I'm working on will work for him and Huffer.
I'm gonna need a longer shelf.
Obligatory TFCon toy haul!
I was so stoked to find Marvel Legends Series 1 Hulk sealed and for a great price! Immediate grab and first thing I picked up. Ended up finding two more friends of Hulk. I'll have to post an updated photo of my Hulk shrine once I fit all this new plastic in somewhere.
And three new Hoists! Two of which I didn't know existed! Short reviews of those guys coming soon. MMC Artifex is a really cool take on the character.
And I've always wanted this Universe Powerglide and the seller cut me a good deal. I come to find out he was reissued in red, so I may end up customizing my own to be more G1 accurate but also have authentic details and decals for an A-10.
TFCon was fantastic like always! I had so much fun running around as Blackarachnia for the weekend. I've got a bunch of ideas to add more shiny junk to her before requesting her to Renn Fest later in the year. A HUGE APOLOGY TO ALL THE KIDS I BUMPED IN THE FACE WITH MY SPIDER LEGS THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND. I took them off for Sunday on purpose....
As always, it's really inspiring and reassuring and motivating to hear from the voice actors and directors and writers. I'm full of ambition and creative energy afterwards. Battery recharged!
@hoistsautobody and I have a ton of ideas for art and custom painting to make before the next TF Con we can attend. We are considering the prospects of tabling once the con returns to our more-local Baltimore as well as taking on commissions work, but we have a lot to work out before then-- stay tuned for updates!
Hoist and I are already making costume plans for the next go around and drawing out plans while we endeavor on the way-to-long journey back to the East Coast where we hope to slide in between waves of freakish bad weather.
He's posted a sneak peak of his costume, so I'll add mine here with a simple little rock candy recipe I looked up while waiting out of layover:
We look forward to seeing everyone as soon as it's possible again! We're trying to fight some social awkwardness and shyness so if you met us at any point over the weekend, please feel free to reach out and connect with us online in the interim. We'd love to stay in touch!
TFCon was so fun. Every convention I catch I enjoy more than the last, and I miss it more when it's finally over. I hope we're able to catch the next one in LA. So nice to hear from the voice actors you love and the writers you have the highest appreciation for.
I'm also so glad that my costume made it through the bulk of the weekend even though its duct tape kept failing. A huge thanks to everyone who gave compliments. I'm eager to make improvements now and have a better version ready for Renn Faire. @foxxiwaves took great photos with a proper camera and we'll get those edited once we're home.
I'm sitting on several new costume ideas, but none of them are as intensive as Silverbolt. I want to put most of my energy into creating new jacket artwork and selling through a made-to-order website, maybe eventually being ready to hold a booth at the next Baltimore TFCon.
Sneek peek for my next fit:
@foxxiwaves and I are mostly vibing for Sunday TFCon. Hope to see you there! It's been such a fun event.
I'm down to the final touches on Silverbolt. I can't wait to wear the full costume in LA. We're flying out early Friday morning and expected to get there by 3. Look for my Hoist jacket and say hi!
We're welcoming a new baby into the family, so naturally I have to dress her in cute linocut prints. These were printed on a 1970's Charles Brand etching press, a fairly new addition to the studio that has been a joy to work with thanks to the way its drive has been geared.

The bulk of sewing is finished! Moving onto armor now. One month until TFCon LA!
Cyclops VS Hate
what paints do you use for your jacket art?
If the jacket is canvas, I use acrylic paint. On a leather or faux-leather (including vinyl) I use Angelus leather paint, which is designed to flex with the fabric as it's worn and as it grows or shrinks with temperature. Leather jackets and sometimes canvas and other materials can be treated with a waterproof finish that needs to be taken off with Angelus Leather Preparer before painting (apply only to the area that is getting painted).
My cowl is ready for an afternoon stress test. The red marks on my face will tell me where I need to add padding!
I hoped to be further along than I am now-- I'm so close to wearing the majority of these pieces-- but here's a long overdue update of Silverbolt. I'm super pleased with this outfit so far. I've got a couple hurdles ahead that might make or break my design, but one way or another, the full look will make it to LA.
Not a bad way to spend a snowed-in weekend, I think!
