A remix of http://booksafterbooks.tumblr.com/post/77997845899/a-street-lamp-flickers-on-and-off-house-of.
For the purpose of this remix, the animated image was recorded in video. The higher frame count of the video caused janky movements in the recording which were further accentuated by lowering the frames per second.
Page 528, the last narrative page of the Navidson Record (followed by the Exhibits and Appendix), concludes with an warning, a reminder of the fear and shapeless void which engulfed the Navidsons lives. This conclusion comes after Johnny's redemptive experience but does not undermine Johnny's own movement toward healing. Instead, the last page of the record, reminds its readers of the need for vigilance in 21st century readers. Rather than close on an uplifting note, the text provides a contrast to once again root its readers in the reality that darkness, and all the fear that its associated with, is always present--moments of happiness, such as the parade which precedes this unsettling end, are moments we must preserve in order to shore ourselves against what comes when the flickering light fades. Thus my Remix of the project concerning page 528 focuses on the light. Unlike the animated image which continuously looped, I choose instead to provide a short video, the image grainy and unclear, drawing the light closer with minor zoom-ins.
