a song for a boy who feels the depths of the oceans but who can’t manage to keep his hands clean
mona:
Mona couldn’t help the laugh that escaped as the other woman practically got overthrown from her seat by the energy-filled dog. “Oh, wow, he’s super excited, and the cutest thing ever,” she said mirthfully, not in the least bit bothered by the friendly canine. Her headache temporarily forgotten, Mona grinned as she let the fluffy white dog sniff at her hand, before giving him a light pet on his nose. “No, I don’t mind at all. What’s his name?” She’d always loved animals, and though she currently didn’t own any pets, she always had the passing thought of getting herself a kitten one of these days - and soon.
“Well, thank you!” Casper grinned, hearing her dog was cute always did her heart good. He was the light of her life and she definitely would not get by so well if she didn’t have her fur baby in her life. Ghost licked at her hand and began enthusiastically putting his head in her hand, well, at least try to. “Well, that’s good. He likes you too. His name is Ghost, I know, original to have a big fluffy white dog named Ghost.” The dog meanwhile, didn’t care, all he knew was that he was getting pets.
mack:
Happily enjoying her solitary hours after being at work all morning, Mack was taking a walk to, as one of her co-workers had said, enjoy the sunshine. Even though she wasn’t overly fond of the sunshine and the summer and would much rather stay anywhere with air conditioning. Still, it helped to clear her mind a bit. She’d been glancing around the park to see how busy it was when she spotted someone waving at her. Intrigued, against her better judgment, she started walking towards him, noticing that he looked familiar. And the bird on his shoulder helped her put two-and-two together. She trod a little more carefully as she wandered towards him, not wanting to scare off the bird, and her voice was a little less harsh than usual as she spoke. “Did you just wave at me?” She asked, a little incredulously. “I’ve gotta say, if that’s because of how dearly you want to keep your little bird buddy on your shoulder, I’m impressed.”
It was an odd juxtaposition, him feeding a little bird so gently with bruised and cracked knuckles, yet here Cade was. “I did? Is there something wrong with that? Should I just like take that back?” It was mostly teasing. “Oh? Miss Delilah here? She’s a sweet lady and a friend. When she’s ready to go, she’ll go.” He smiled at the little bird on his shoulder, at least his friendship with animals was a good conversation starter. “You wanna feed her?”
With all these boys Fast on their feet Gnashing teeth They hit you up And I can't sleep Wolves are coming for me
hey y'all i finally got a wanted connection/ploy page up! find it here!
luca:
“yes, we’re still selling calendars.” luca said, not even giving the person who had walked towards him a chance to speak. he was on duty today, and hanging out in front of the fire station located right across the street from the town square. “sorry, if you aren’t here for that, we’ve had a lot of interest in them this year.” finished he, teasing smile on his face as he finally turned fully to the person.
“oh no, i think i’m set on that,” now for the 180, “i already bought three of them, my grandmother and mother love them by the way.” he had a beautiful apartment just across the way as he was still getting his dream house built, but he still do free lance work when he had time. he handed out a long reinforced tube with a strap for connivence for carrying. “these are the blue prints that the chief asked me for, not sure if i should try to find him or just give them to you.”
charlie:
“ i’m so down with locusts right now. have you seen the way those things move? they don’t really exist in the u.s. anymore, not since that huge swarm from the 1800s, which i’m not necessarily complaining about since their entire existence is─ you know, centered around plagues and crop devastation. but MAN, don’t they flutter… oh! right, sorry; what were you saying? ”
eli was confused perpetually by this young man. he just about never understood what came out of this kid’s mouth, but true by told, it was entertaining to say the least. “yeah, trust me though, getting caught in a swarm of them is truly an unpleasant experience.” of course eli had experienced that first hand. “i was just seeing if you were up for that hike in the national park tomorrow.”
It’s a combination of all visual art. It’s the set decoration, the cinematographer, the costumes—it’s so much art combined. I want to give people an opportunity to escape in characters they could get lost in. I just want to portray meaningful stories.
arden was outside isaac’s because where else would he be? he had a notebook and pen in front of him, but that was not what had his attention. his whole attention was on the little kitten that was resting peacefully in his hand as he bottle fed her. “man, being a single mother is hard.”
darcy:
“Have you tried this week’s fro-yo flavors at Issac’s?” Darcy asked the person seating nearest to her on a bench in the town park. She had just come from the sweet shop, wanting to enjoy her over-filled cup in the sunshine. “I know I most likely say this every week, but I think these are the best temporary flavors they’ve ever had.”
Arden already had his own overfilled cup of the new flavors and he was pleased with himself and even more pleased to see the other in the same position. “Ah, I see we’re siblings in fro-yo.” He laughed at his own joke. “I’m quite pleased with these flavors, Isaac even went with one of the flavors I suggested! I think that’s the sweetest thing anyone’s ever did for me.”
keane:
“kid,” he calls out - hand outstretched to playfully run his hand through arden’s hair with a cheeky grin. “no more fuckin’ candy. we need actual food. somethin’ not coated in sugar and colour dye or whatever.” keane shoves his phone into his back pocket - the other packed with a wallet and pushes the door open. he gestures lazily to the street, an arched brow on his face. “c’mon, m’starvin’.” @holidayclownsinc
“kid?” arden said the word like it left a bad taste in his mouth, “we’re the same age keane.” though arden knew he was right. he ought to eat real food. sugar and caffeine weren’t necessarily life giving sustenance. “alright fine, we’ll get some food, but while we’re eating, we are talking lyrics. i banged some spicy ones out last night and i think it’s good.”
libby:
“And what do you think so far? Has the charm of the town convinced you that this is place to be yet?” She didn’t know why but this place just seemed to have a habit of luring people in and never letting them leave, sure they had a lot of visitors come and go, but she was sure just as many of them chose to stay. “What’s kept you so busy?” Libby asked, unphased by seeming nosy, she wanted to know so why not ask in stead of just wondering. “Bad juju? Well sister same….” She smiled back at the other, approving of her name choice, her eyes scanning over her. “Alright then trisha, let’s go.”
“I mean, it’s definitely cute, and I love the vacation I’m getting, but I’m not sure about if I’m about to be sucked in here and turn into one of those grandmas that knits things for her 7,000 grandchildren. That’s a thing here? Is that what grandmas do here?” She honestly didn’t know, but it felt right. She did mess the pace of LA but to be fair, she had never known what it was like to take your time. “If I’m being real? Sleeping, I felt like I hadn’t slept for 500 years and then I had to sleep off the 4th hangover so there’s that.” She gave her a smile, “Trisha? Love it. Let us be anonymous sisters in bad juju. So, is there trouble here, Bernice, or do we need to make some?”
addy:
“I still feel like I wouldn’t be entirely safe, and I mean that with as little offense as possible, Eli– I promise.” She’d never want to actually offend the man, as Eli was probably one of the kindest souls she’d ever actually met. But still… stepping foot on a boat with him? Unlikely. She liked her life too much. “Come back when you’ve written a full length novel about your trip across the oceans.”
“You insult a man’s ability to sail and then say no offense, now Addy, how exactly am I supposed to take that?” He was laughing though. He had a feeling that him and Addy would not be compatible boating buddies at all. He was good, he sailed to Easter Island with a broken mast, work plenty of freight ships, but he definitely wasn’t really the kind to be a good teacher to beginners. “Now that’s just cruel Addy, you know I can’t read.”
addy:
“It’s always fun, if not a little dangerous,” Addy admitted. She’d worked in a bar before in Chicago that had a rather popular dart board, and there had been more than one occasion where she’d ended up bandaging hands and fingers. “Ah, so you are a renaissance woman. Beer sounds good, though. As always. But after you get that beer, you’ve gotta prove to me that you’re ace at darts.”
“My dear,” she leaned in like she was about to share a secret, “It’s the danger that makes it fun,” she added a little wink before straightening herself. Anna had definitely been the cause of some injuries in the past, but it’s fine. “I have been told something like that before she laughs. If you think I’m wild now, you should have known me in my youth. I’m still banned from Fire Island. Let’s get that beer, shall we? Would you like one? It’s on my dear.”
svpines:
“i am the frame.” mj replied sourly. she kicked the bale of hay up on her knee obscuring her visage. her relationship with oliver-titus was a tenuous one based on mutual annoyance and a genteel truce.
"then photography is in a sad state," he remarked with such venomous passiveness and a forlorn sigh. he definitely got an unflattering shot of her as she was hefting the hay bale up. not the shot he was hoping for, but it was better than whatever he thought he was getting.
clark:
CLARK TOOK another sip of his drink. “well, I mean, you’re at an event and you’re taking pictures on a professional camera. So yeah, you pretty much tick off every box I have filled away for that occupation,” Clark stood up in an effort to stretch his limbs. “okay, so you’re looking for something unique. What kind of unique, camera man?”
His mouth floundered for a moment. They wanted to be mad so bad, they wanted to be offended so bad, but my god this man had a point. “Just because you made a solid educated guess doesn’t mean I have to like it,” he huffed as he surprisingly took a seat next to the man and ordered a triple scotch on the rocks. Top shelf scotch. “Wouldn’t you like to know, bar boy?” They shot back as they sipped on their drink. “....Something that’s worth a fourth MoMA residency, if you must know.”
