Inspiring Kindness Spell Jar
Sometimes it's hard to be kind. I won't judge you for that. Some days are harder than we like to admit, and putting effort into being kind (especially to those who may not be as gentle with you as you'd like) sometimes feels like a great big thing. Well, here's a little spell jar that can help you find that kindness. You can mix and match ingredients to suit what you're looking for! Make sure everything is bone-dry, and feel free to add some crystal chips if you feel like it.
A small jar with a lid/cork (I like these tiny ones from Dollar Tree)
Pink string (Love, affection) or green string (Growth, generosity) or both
Pink sealing wax (Love, affection) or green sealing wax (Growth, generosity) or both.
...and a mixture of any of these:
Bay leaf (Strength, healing)
Black pepper (Banishing negatvity)
Caraway (Love, mental power, memory)
Chamomile (Reducing stress, healing)
Cloves (Banishing negativity, finding kindness)
Juniper (Attracts good energy)
Lavender (Peace, love, healing)
Lemon peel (Breaking through mental blockages)
Lilac (Luck, wisdom, memory)
Lily of the Valley (Repels negativity, peace, calmness, soothing)
Lotus (Love, spiritual growth)
Marjoram (Banishing negativity)
Nettle (Handling tough situations)
Onion (Endurance, stability)
Orange blossom (Peace, stability)
Oregano (Joy, energy, strength)
Paprika (Adds energy to spell jar)
Pine (Fresh starts, success, strength, growth)
Plum (Love, healing, peace)
Raspberry leaf (Love, healing, protection)
Rosemary (Healing, banishing negativity, love)
Sage (Wisdom, healing, mental capabilities)
Sea salt (Grounding, protection)
Spanish moss (Banishing negativity, opening blockages)
Sunflower (Power, energy, wisdom)
Tangerine peel (Joy, banishes negativity)
Thyme (Strength, courage)
Violet (Calming, creativity, peace)
Willow (Overcoming sadness, love, healing)
Witch's Burr (Adds energy to spell jar)
Wormwood (Dispel anger, stop violence)
Using the dried rosemary, smoke cleanse the jar you're using. Remember to get the lid/cork and interior, as well. Set your intention. You can do this verbally if it helps you focus.
If you're using wax pellets, set up the melting spoon and add in your wax pellets. If you're using a large candle, light the candle.
Cut enough string to wrap and tie around the neck of the jar several times.
Add your dried ingredients one at a time so they make some nice layers. Tap the jar gently on a hard surface if you need something to settle.
Once the jar is full or you're out of ingredients, cap/cork the jar and make sure it's tightly sealed.
Tie several knots in the string before wrapping it around the neck of the jar. Knots will help strengthen the resolve of your spell jar. Tie it securely when you're done.
Using the melted wax, seal the jar. If you're using a small candle (such as a chime candle or birthday cake candle), use heat to melt the bottom of the candle and stick it to the lid/cork of the jar and let it melt down completely to seal the jar.
Once the wax is completely cool, you can shake the jar whenever you need a little help finding your kindness again.
Of course, this spell jar won't solve all your problems, but it could help inspire you to be a little less gruff when you're feeling on edge. Remember, witchcraft is a great coping skill and tool to have in your pocket, but if you find yourself struggling, I encourage you to seek therapy if you are in a position where it's available. I know not everyone is. That's okay. I hope the best for each and every one of you.
As always, do your research, practice safely, and blessed be. <3
