Rory entered the Soda Shoppe, eager for a orange creamsicle float - she much preferred them over the root beer ones. She’d just come from her apartment, having finally finished one of her abstract pieces, and the float was her way of celebrating a week’s worth of hard work. After ordering her treat, Rory made her way towards one of the booths to sit and wait for the order to be called, when she spotted a familiar face. Her eyes lit up and she gave a wave in greeting, “Hey!” she said, sliding over towards their table instead. “Long time, no see. How are you?”
“i’m in a generous mood,” began the bartender, leaning onto the bar top as she spoke, “one drink, on the house, what will it be?” she finished. because there was hardly anyone else in the bar, and she was beyond bored, so why not make someone else’s time better?

BIOGRAPHY
Jaime was born on a warm day in August in a quaint hospital on the coast of Maine, USA. She, along with her older sister Janessa and younger brother Tyler, were born to a well-off family that consisted of her father, Dwayne, a CEO of a world-wide stock broker company and her mother, Maria, who made and sold her own candles out of their home.
Jaime had always been the quieter of the two girls, choosing to work on her school work and reading all on her own whereas Janessa constantly wanted to go out and get involved in things. The personality differences never wavered the connection between the girls, though, and not a week would pass without Janessa pestering her (by a minute) younger sister to go out somewhere with her. Janessa helped Jaime flourish socially, and Jaime helped Janessa keep her head out of the clouds.
The girls’ differences became more evident once they entered high school. Janessa excelled in math and science based classes whereas Jaime found herself in love with the arts in all shapes and forms. In particular, her home economics course further spurred the love she had to cook and bake - a hobby she’d picked up from helping her mother cook for years.
That hobby would turn itself into a passion before long and Jaime, much to her own surprise, was accepted into the New England Culinary Institute based in Vermont. Janessa had, without Jaime’s permission, sent in an application on behalf of her sister with positive results. Jaime attended, receiving her BA in Baking and Pastry Arts. She spent many years working in various bakeries around New England, honing her skill further.
With some money in her pocket, Jaime took a year off to travel around Europe, occasionally accompanied by her sister whose own business know-how had her jettisoning over seas regularly to help manage hotels. From France to Italy and eventually to the Netherlands, Jaime enjoyed her travels but felt like a part of her was missing. She’d been very singularly focused on her education and work and hadn’t had any semblance of a relationship since her boyfriend, Mason, in high school. She’d dated here and there but nothing had felt right.
A beautiful woman by the name of Angelica Thomas, a London-based teacher on holiday in the Netherlands changed that. Jaime had accidentally bumped into the woman, spilling both of their cups of tea, when out to breakfast one morning. Begging to make it up to the other woman, Jaime had been told that a date would suffice. Her scarlet cheeks were all the answer Angelica needed.
Jaime followed Angelica back to London, securing a job at a nearby bakery as their relationship took hold. A ten-month whirlwind of passion, both good and bad, ended in broken hearts and many tears shed as Jaime made the hardest choice she’d ever made - to leave Angelica due to issues that didn’t seem to be improving in their relationship no matter the effort put in.
With a broken heart and no desire to stay in London, Jaime moved back to Maine and stayed with her parents temporarily while she worked to get back on her feet. As soon as she was able, she moved out of their home and into the relatively nearby city of Holiday where she’d gotten a job as an Infant Teacher at Sonny’s Daycare. She has been there for the last two years and adores her job, as well as Holiday in general. Still, though, she hasn’t dated much - her heart still a little lovesick for the beautiful blonde she’d left behind in London…

“So– I have a very important question for you,” Kamille greeted as she leaned over the counter, flashing one of The Jumping Crab’s customer’s a friendly smile. “Pie, or cake? I’m taking a little poll here since fall is just around the corner and I’ve already got some desserts in mind,” the chef explained, twiddling a pen in hand, which she lowered to scribble on a notepad. “Is there one you prefer over the other? Or you more of a pudding person?”
Picking up the little girl who was about to steal food from the other Richard smiled. “ Sorry about that, as you can see by the size of her she is never fed, so the poor thing has to go begging and stealing her own food.” He joked with the other as he tickles the little girl under her arm.
“So I have decided, that if I was born in any other time, I’ve want to be born around about the time I could have been a Peaky Blinder.” Libby confirmed to the other, a nod of her head following. “I mean Thomas Shelby is something else, not that I would marry him, I would not put up with that treatment as a wife, I could have fun though. What about you? If you weren’t from this day and age when would you choose to be born?”
“ Okay, how handsome is he? He makes all the rude customers I had to deal with today all worth it, just knowing I can go see him later gives me the strength I need to push through it! Anyway, I am done for the day, you do you feel like a coffee?”
“So, I know I agreed to drive you home and obviously I will, but did you want to stop for something to eat first? I’m honestly famished, since I didn’t bother to break for lunch today…It would be my treat?” she offered. The two were sitting in her car, with Sid at the wheel, getting ready to pull out of the parking lot, having just left Repertory Theatre. Already, she could hear her stomach growling at the very mention of food, and she knew she’d be dining out with or without them. She just hated sitting at a table and eating alone, so having the company would be nice.
It wasn’t hot, it wasn’t cold, it was temperate which was probably the perfect way to describe Zoe’s mood as well. A hand rolled cigarette hanging from her slightly thinned lips she scribbled in a sketchbook with a stub of charcoal, well aware it was all over her hands as well but not really caring. After all she didn’t have class anymore since it was summer break, not that her teachers would have minded since they would probably be the ones encouraging her to feed into her desire to create. Still she was coming to the end of the free pages in this sketchbook and it was her last one, she didn’t really have the funds to be buying more, so if she was wise she’d be preserving the space. Problem was Zoe was a lot of things but wise wasn’t really one of them.
Hand slipping a little one the page she let out an annoyed grunt as the black stick skittered onto the floor and broke into a couple of splintered bits, making her scowl. More money down the drain, she was going to be left drawing with sticks soon if she wasn’t careful. Brush some hair off her forehead she left a sooty streak in its wake, not noticing, grabbing the rest of her cigarette as she noticed someone in her direction, seeming to be looking at her oddly. “What?” She muttered in a surly voice.
“See when you put it like that,” Lucas couldn’t help but point to the menu off to the side. “You’re still wrong and I’ll stick to my own choice.”
“Who’s up for a round of buying too many sugary things and eating all of it in the next twenty four hours?”
