another thing I like about the lookism anime so far is the fact that they don’t downplay jay

one of my biggest concerns with the anime was that they were going to either overlook Jay, or downplay him as a character and how he looks and feels about Daniel and I was really worried they were going to either cut that out of his character entirely or they were going to downplay it

it’s just really nice to see like they didn’t do that. They were sticking very much to the source material and even like re-creating key moments about him frame by frame like Daniels birthday episode and we get to see how much he was agonizing over the note to daniel

and the way we always get to see Jay’s perspective like Daniel could be doing something and the camera will pan to Jay and we’ll get to see his reaction like in the webtoon, or the way that Jay is very much constantly aware of Daniel and is there for Daniel and will be ready to throw down accordingly

I also love the fact that he still doesn’t speak in the anime. like he didn’t speak in the web comic at all. It was just Daniel translating his silence and him being right so that’s nice to see. like he didn’t speak in the web comic, What is he going to say in the anime?

(I think the only thing that’s really missing is that episode where Jay gives up smoking because he overhears someone saying that when they stopped smoking they met the love of their life, and he throws out his cigarette while thinking about Daniel. but I think it’s less that they didn’t put that part in and like that part hasn’t come up yet. I can’t really remember which episode it was like in the web comic, but like once we get there and it’s in the anime, it’ll be perfect)
