(Slightly more than) 10k Scrobbles Post
Current Music Mood: Heavy on Mitski. Got into a lot of Hyperpop. Lana and St. Vincent are regulars.
10,000th Scrobble: Malibu (Hole) (So glad I have a nice one lol) Reached: 07/03/22
Top Artists of All Times:
The usual lineup with St. Vincent replacing Lorde in both the number of times I listen to them and artistically. I feel like there's something, maybe their artistic visions or something that have the same vibe so I'm liking this. Love that she reached #4 within 1-1.5 months, the absolute unhinged obsession that I had with MASSEDUCTION.
I've been trying to get an unhealthy amount of scrobbles for Paper Bag and been feeling a little quirky and mentally ill so that explains Fiona. Hit 300 scrobbles on Paper Bag today. Need to get a few more and make it 50% of all Fiona scrobbles because that sounds fun.
Mitski overtook Lana as my top artist. I think Lana might've been at #1 for as long as I've had the account, with Taylor coming up around album releases. 700+ scrobbles out of the 1.5k for Mitski have been within the past 30 days as well. To put it into perspective, here's a chart of my number of scrobbles for top artist every month:

POP MUSIC : In Love With Courtney : She may be married and expecting, but Holeās Courtney Love hasnāt toned down
(Rare? Courtney Love Interview August 16, 1992, Los Angeles Times)
An hour with Holeās 1991 āPretty on the Insideā album might be one of the most harrowing experiences in rock ānā roll, a black, labored, twisted hour that is closer to a gruesome-sex Mary Gaitskill story than to anything you might think of as popular art, a slack, grinding hour that imprints itself on your consciousness like an extended fingernail-screech.
Most of the songs are about bad sex, bad drugs or a bad day at the abortion clinic. The most famous song from the album begins āWhen I was a teen-age whore⦠.ā If āPretty on the Insideā were a horror movie, it would be all the parts that you have to look at through your fingers.
Sometimes it is good to experience excruciating things.
On a quiet back street of Los Angelesā Fairfax District, a quick walk from Canterās and a stoneās throw from the hippest record stores on Melrose, Hole auteur Courtney Love sprawls in the living room of her groovy railroad-flat apartment, smoothing the weekās British music tabloids around her on the floor, listening to the new Pavement CD, tugging at her tight, black skirt.
