it's everything that was going on behind the curtain. my main goals were melodies that were so infectious that you're almost angry at it and lyrics that are just as vivid but crisp and focused and completely intentional. so its like, I feel like we actually came together in a beautiful way, the 3 of us, shellback, max and I. we had a conversation about how max was like 'I loved folklore, I loved the storytelling on folklore. I don't want this to change just because we're making these infectious anthems, I dont want you to leave that behind' and I was like 'I couldn't even if I tried.'
