Damn
I haven’t posted anything in a long time. I got swept up at work and been very busy with my own shit. My goal is to be ready to go by fall. Something to look forward to I guess. Hopefully someone will be stoked on shirts as much as I am. Sorry for the delay. I’m working on it!
MOUNTAIN WEEK
Starting on Monday I’m going to be showcasing one of my favorite shirt brands; The Mountain. Located in Keene, NH The Mountain has been producing some of the best shirts with the craziest graphics. Best known for their “3 Wolf Moon” shirt(some douchebag said they could get girls with it, so everyone started buying it up, humans are stupid). They specialize in animals, nature and fantasy. One new Mountain shirt a day. Welcome to Mountain Week!
Here is a shirt from the only time Lollapalooza came to Vermont which was back in1996. It was held in a field in Pownal. An amazing time (just look at the lineup!). It is also on a ringer style t shirt (VERY 90’s). Plenty of other bands played, these were the main headliners. Seeing the Ramones play was probably one of the best times in my life. I got right on top of the crowd and got passed around during their set. Rancid killed it, there was a never ending circle pit for them. I had met Lars earlier before their set and he was a totally down to earth dude. Soundgarden (who I admit I had only had their ‘superunknown’ record at the time) were good but I had seen them 2 years earlier. I wish I had gotten more into that band back then those older albums are waaay better! Metallica played mostly older material and a couple of songs off of the black album so it was a solid set of head banging goodness. All in all a great time in the middle of no where and definitely great memories!
I used to have.....
This awesome shirt that was a baseball style t. It had blue sleeves and the body was white. It said WEEZER on the front and ROCK MUSIC on the back with the Weezer symbol between the two words. I picked it up at my local skate shop that was also an independent record store around the same time the blue album came out. I’m hoping I can find it one of these days because I think the last time I wore it was in college. It’s gotta be somewhere, fingers crossed.
ALL THAT I WANNA DO IS SKATE, SKATE!
There are few things I love more than skateboarding. I got my first board in second grade (a Valtera dragon deck). I still have it to this day. I’ve had a subscription to Thrasher since the 90’s. So it’s appropriate that I start out my shirt blog with one of my many t shirts from my Thrasher vault. This one was given to me by my mom. We were out to lunch and she handed me a bag with some goodies in it, a zombie calendar, a winter beanie she made and this amazing shirt! Art by Neckface. “Oh you skate? Who cares”.
This is one of my all time favorite t shirts. I still own it to this day. It just has seen a lot of wear and tear. I picked it up in Boston in the early 90's when the Beavis and Butt-Head craze started. My mom and I had just gotten out of a day game for the Red Sox and I saw it in a shop window. It is most certainly a bootleg since they are wearing band shirts with actual band names on them (I'll post a pic of the shirt later). I lived in this thing throughout high school and beyond. Maybe this is where my obsession with shirts started. Who knows.
One man's obsession is well .....
Seriously there are shirts coming out of my friggin' ears in my place. It is quite literally over run with these cotton bastards. I can't stop though, I've already gotten 3 new shirts in 2014. Trust me that is nothing. I told myself not to purchase any shirts in the new year and it took me until February to break that resolution. Honestly, I was impressed with myself. I had made it a month and a half with out indulging in this lunacy I seemed to have picked up along my journey in life. Oh well, I guess it could be worse......
