Combat: Philip has strong battle magic, but prefers not to use it in the middle of the city because of the risks to bystanders. Outside of the city, you can count on fireballs, lightning, suffocating
Plot: Persons intended role in the plot (for NPC’s). Story: Philip is not originally from Angan, but from the sleepy town of X. His father is a doctor there and his mother a teacher. Philip initially wanted to become a doctor too, but at the age of twelve he showed to have a strong aptitude for magic. For he stayed in contact with his twin brother Francis after he had died. Francis is still Philips' most used contact in the spirit world. Shortly thereafter he began to see other apparitions and got disturbing dreams, some of them predictive. When he convinced his parents that he Wasn't just pulled stuff out of his ass, his mother sent him to local sorceress Maerun to learn to handle his gifts. She taught him magic according to the Axeman tradition, especially Deep magic. Philip can see someone's impending death in the shape of a yellow mask floating before that person's face. Inituationritual at 14/16? Philip went to live in Angan for his magic study. Besides in magic, Philip was still interested in medicine. Along with a small group of others, he therefore he took anatomy lessons from Garol Darthorius. Garol at that time was only a few years older than his students. Garol and his anatomy students quickly formed a close-knit group of friends. Because a lack of legally acquired bodies hampered them in their studies, the students regularly helped Garol to steal fresh corpses from the graveyard. They distracted the cemetery watchman with gossip and liquor. On one of these raids, they were hindered by a troublesome bulldog, who fiercely defended the tomb of the intended victim . One of Philips fellow students killed the dog. The body of the dog they have taken to the Red Rooster, but also studied and then dumped into the sewer. In retrospect Philip isn't proud of these actions, but his medical knowledge has saved lives and limbs several times. He decided to settle in Angan permanently and applied for citizenship. He had to serve two years in the militia to obtain this. During his service, he met Bert. They served in the same unit, and fought together during the Battle of Honey Hill. During this battle include in the successful deposition of the shattered arm of his fellow corporal Gunnar Thor Touched. Later Philip and Gunnar thrice performed a makeshift soul vaulting ritual together to save their mortally wounded comrades Tilda Haubrecht, Camil Rabec and Ion High Harvest. Through the help of expirimentele (and illegal) methods of Garol Darthorius After the war, Philip renounced membership of the Necromancers of the North to marry Bert. Philip has been for years no longer a student, and it does not seem more concerned with theft. Friendship with his teacher and classmates is watered. He suspected that Garol simply continues its practices. Philip has now teamed up with Bert a shop for magician supplies, which they have a pretty decent income. He is still involved with the militia as a teacher in military magic and first aid. Philip's parents still live in Hutton. Philip argued with them, because they are related to "flat talking bartender with a criminal record" disapprove and angry that he therefore "his career flushed down the sewer." With his old teacher Maerun he still has a close bond.
Reactions by others:
Bert Ostergaard (Person)
Owner of a shop for magical supplies from Angan. Former owner of the Red Rooster Inn.
Relationships: Husband of Philip Fearntree. Son of Astrid Fauks and Harm Ostergaard (both deceased), only child. Nephew (Nephew) of Gertrude Fauks, Life-long friend of Gunnar Thorthouched. Former member of militia unit 16, led by Sergeant Marc Dorthon. Appearance: Man of 28 years. Short blonde hair, gray eyes. Giant of a man with hands as a longshoreman. Dented nose. Scars from burns on his forearms. Clear northern (local) accent. Ethnicity: Spearman
Born and raised in Angan. Bert's parents were owners of the Red Rooster Inn, and Bert helped them in the bussiness. Bert met Philip when he was 18, during his obligatory one-year service in the militia. They then fought in the same unit in the Battle of Honey Hill. During the battle Bert incured burns and crush injuries. He still has scars on his forearms and face from this. Three fingers on his right side he can t bend properly due to hammer blows on his hand. Shortly after the battle, he married Philip in a temple of Odin, Thor and Frey, in a ritual organized by their unit-mate Gunnar Thortouched and his colleagues. Although Bert himself was not a student, he was easily accepted into the group of friends around Garol. The fact that he had access to unlimited amounts of booze and a virtually unspyable meeting place undoubtedly contributed to this. After the death of his parents Bert inherited the Red Rooster. Unlike his parents, Bert took no pleasure in running the inn. He was terribly annoyed by the drunken bragging, vomiting- and facade pissing parties of its customers. Moreover, they were always whining about his relationship with Philip. After yet another offensive comment Bert hard-handedly threw everyone out of his establishment, and locked the whole place up. This action earned him a conviction for assault. Bert then sold the inn and with the yield started a shop for magical supplies together with Philip in a different part of town. That suits him much better, customers are in general friendly and neat, and he makes a good living from the proceeds of the bussiness. Bert is still struggling with his experiences during the war, and can be very emotional when he talks about it. Battle: Bert fighting preferably with his bare hands, but can cope with crossbow, ax, spear and shield. used to do amateur boxing.
