‘tis the season...
“When you have worn out your shoes, the strength of the sole leather has passed into the fibre of your body. I measure your health by the number of shoes and hats and clothes you have worn out. He is the richest man who pays the largest debt to his shoemaker.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Somehow I kept my head above water. I relied on the discipline, character, and strength that I had started to develop as that little girl in her first swimming pool.” - Esther Williams

In the 1937 film Stage Door, Katherine Hepburn included a line from the play, The Lake, by Dorothy Massingham and Murray MacDonald. By doing so, she made fun of her biggest Broadway acting failure.
The line became one of Hepburn’s signature catchphrases:
“The calla lilies are in bloom again. Such a strange flower- suitable to any occasion. I carried them on my wedding day, and now I place them here in memory of something that has died.”

Throwback Thursday:
When I am at home, I try to spare at least a few minutes of each day for creative activity. Some days, I look at the works of others for inspiration. Some days, I make crafts. Most days, I usually end up snapping at least a few shots. This window is often the subject of my photographs. I am obsessed and fascinated with how light streams in through it. I love the lines of light and shadow from the curtains. I love the silhouettes of the swirling wrought iron bars. I love the light as it passes through the trees of my neighbor’s garden before it reaches this window. I love the morning light and the sunset. It inspires me. When I can’t travel far, I photograph my city. When I don’t leave home, I can still find my muse. I always try to find my creative soul regardless of where I am.
