911 Help Truck- 1/? The Beginning
It was really not Changmin’s plan for the summer.
Really not.
His parents had decided to drop off the face of the Earth for a vacation in Hawaii for a whole entire month, without him. While the rest of his friends go frolicking around on beaches in Mexico, or shopping in New York, he was stuck in Korea doing nothing.
Needless to say Changmin was a little ticked off, maybe just a tad more than little (but it was maybe his fault that this happened because being the lazy, frugal, guy he is he needed adventure and it seemed like a good idea, well at the time.)
So how the heck did he find himself in a truck, with some alcoholic dude, with an old CD player blasting Girls Generation music 24/7? (He wouldn’t have minded so much if the CD could play other music but no, he had to listen flippin’ Gee for fifty million hours)
Easy, just go to the convenience store, attempt (keyword is attempt) to buy a pack of ramen and wait until a haft drunk man whose name is Yunho to tell you about a little offer to go around South Korea to save random people from stuff like those superheroes out there that don’t really exist because he’s bored. That really happened.
Thus, that is how Shim Changmin, the snarky, rude, but intellectual (but that side isn’t really showing since he decided to go on a little “field trip” with some random stranger) 19 year old (whose really 20 but Yunho refuses to listen to him) gets stuck on a truck with Jung Yunho, a way too optimistic, happy go lucky, and drunk haft the time guy who really likes beer and soju (did he mention he’s basically drunk haft the time?)
And this how it all started.
-
Changmin lazily flipped through the channels on his flat screen TV, switching from new episodes of Running Man, to re-runs of way too cheesy dramas (that everyone seems to like for some reason). Sighing, he promptly turned off the TV and blew his bangs out of his face. Why was he stuck here in South Korea alone was a huge question for him, why didn’t he get to go to Hawaii with his parents was really getting him worked up as millions of reasons bubbled in his head. Throwing the pillow in his hand on the ground he clambered up to grab something to eat.
Until he was greeted by an empty fridge, cupboards, everything. Which was outrageous since it had been only 2 days since summer vacation had started.
Groaning, Changmin with another sigh shuffled to his shoes and grabbed his wallet and keys to the house and began walking to the nearest convenience store for something to eat. Hopefully there would be something other than instant ramen to eat because he was sure as anything that he wasn’t about to eat damn noodles for the rest of the vacation here.
-
Arriving at the small convenience store, he was greeted by the tired face of one of his acquaintances (not friends because this guy was really individual, as he put it.)
Waving tiredly Yoochun greeted Changmin with a tired smile. “Hey.”
Confused as why he was still in Korea Changmin replied ‘Thought you were in Italy or something.”
“Got postponed until next week.”
Changmin nodded as he headed to one of the shelves and started choosing a couple packets of ramen (although it wasn’t what he really wanted) and proceeded to look for something else to stack up on.
When he heard the opening of a door.
-
Changmin’s not too sure what just happened but all he really knows now but now he has a guy named Jung Yunho in his living room (who smells like he bathed in beer) and they’re right now discussing the details of a 2 month trip around South Korea to help random people that need help (because there’s basically nothing to do, they both agreed on that).
All he really remembers is after buying his supplies with his parents money (because they suck at trying to hide food money from him) he is being dragged (or dragging, he can’t remember, but that’s beside the point) by this dude who just introduced himself and telling (more like threatening) Yoochun not to breath a word of this to anyone.
He can only hope his civilized talking got through.
Now with two cups of ramen and a map of South Korea spread on the table, they talk about the “game plan” as Yunho puts it.
“Alright, first we go this this place on the map.”
And his finger lands on Nami Island, known for its nature trails and pretty looking scenery.
“Seriously? Shouldn’t we go like in some sort of circle? Or route? Or something? We’ll probably do flips around the country and we only got like 2 months.” Changmin remarked.
Yunho threw his head back and laughed “The intellectual one you are I see. No worries, we’ll just move where the wind takes us, relax.”
Changmin muttered some sarcastic remark under his breath before picking up his cup of ramen and slurping haft of it up (because he’s hungry and hungry Changmin equals to grumpy Changmin.)
Setting his cup down, he looks at Yunho again and speaks up “Then what?”
“I’ll figure that out later, but for now let’s get out of here.”
Changmin almost spits out the remainder of noodles in his mouth “Wait, so we don’t have a plan?”
Yunho just grins and shakes his head while eating on his own cup of noodles.
Sitting there gaping, Changmin is bewhildered by this guy’s behavior. Being a person who carefully calculates everything, it was kinda (more than kinda) weird for this and he just sat with wide eyes.
“Trust your hyung for a bit, yeah?” Yunho chuckles (damn that happy personality.)
“Hyung? Who said to call you hyung?” Changmin scoffs and crosses his arms in an attempt to look defiant (which makes him look adorable in Yunho’s eyes.)
“I’m older than you, aren’t I?” Yunho replies, a smile still on his face.
“How old are you?”
“22, you?”
Changmin mentally curses “20”
“19 years old? Then you’ll call me hyung, yeah?”
“19? I said I was 20!”
“Alright teenager, pack up some stuff, don’t pack your whole house mind you, and I’ll come with the truck at about…” Yunho glances at his watch “12 yeah?”
“Wait, we’re leaving today?” Changmin looks up from his noodles (that he started muching on again.)
Yunho nods with a smile (damn it, why does his smile look so good?) “Yeah, gotta get as much time as we can!”
And without even waiting for an answer from Changmin, Yunho saunters out the door with his ramen leaving a very, utterly, confused Changmin wondering what the heck just happened.
Little did he know it gets worse.
A/N- not sure how many parts this will get... hope you liked it though!
