They're like two sides of the same coin, in my opinion. Homura feels conflicted knowing she can't save her too, because just knowing the truth would cause her to crashout. Despite that, she enjoys spending time with her (personal headcanon based on Madoka Portable) and feels calm whenever she's with her.

On mami's side (Based mostly on The Wraith Arc) Se's quite overprotective, And she would like to spend more time with Homura. she likes when they can have quiet cute moments without seeing each other as rivals
