someone asking about dennis's picks in the notes, so i thought i'd give some commentary, since his picks are actually my favorite haha!

ok long post warning

indeedee is a pokemon who physically cannot survive without receiving approval and love from a trainer. dennis is both someone who i think would find that kind of power appealing, but also kind of in the same boat. he's seen repeatedly to be very sensitive to personal criticism, and a lot of the things he does are in service of making himself appealing and loveable.

roselia is a pokemon whose roses smell better depending on the quality of care it receives. dennis is someone who partakes in a great deal of personal preening, but i think he's also someone who would find this kind of outward Proof of how well something's been cared for appealing, and i can almost hear him screaming at someone over how fragrant his roselia is over a perceived personal slight.

bruxish is an extremely flashy pokemon, and i could see him keeping her in a big ass tank, even going to great lengths to increase her standard of care, as dennis is shown to be quite prideful and defensive of things he perceives as beautiful or valuable. (i.e. his "starter" car lol)

hypno and arbok are both classic villain pokemon, and i chose them because of the frequent jokes around dennis's status as a serial killer, and his frequent villainous behavior. having these pokemon would likely be seen as sort of a red flag in the pokemon world, and i mostly picked them because i can imagine an exchange in which he would have to defend them. something like a new Dennis Creep Moment popping up, and then dee points out how drowzee literally looks like a pervert LOL, followed by a stammering defense of himself and maybe a great deal of fire from drampa.

Drampa is a pokemon who will burn everything around it when insulted. a big, volatile beast like that is just so clearly dennis coded HAHAHA! drampa also feeds into the team aesthetic i was going for; a very flashy and almost glam team, which is a choice i made based partially on his music taste. repeatedly hes shown to be in to 80's "femme shit"

i went for something very color coordinated, with yellow, purple, and green as the primary colors, a pallet that can be both quite psychedelic and femme, or nauseating and villainous. i also went for a focus on psychic pokemon, as manipulation and mind games are synonymous with dennis!
