CONTENT #13: 06-24-19
Hello! Itâs been a long time since I updated yall. Thanks for being so patient and enjoy the content:Â
1.Changes in Plans: Definitely things never go as planned and I can say with a light heart now that this isnât such a bad thing. There were times these past few months where I felt defeated and helpless because all my hopes, dreams, and aspirations didnât go according to what I had imagined. For starters, my s/o and I didnât get the chance to celebrate Easter and Valentineâs Day with each other. He was on a family trip around the beginning of February and was supposed to be back by V-Day but his flight got delayed. As for Easter, he had his own family party to attend and I could tell that he didnât want to attend due to us arguing over a small issue. I still need to practice on understanding that some things simply are out of my control but weâre definitely getting there.Â
2. 1 yr anniversary: We did it, folks! *BAM* We reached one year of being together and damn it feels good. I do have to say that I was a little bit disappointed because he only ended up getting me two things while I got him an array of stuff (anime merch + protein). It made me feel as if he really didnât know me at all and that he just chose the cheapest option. Iâm grateful for the two gifts that he got me and know that I shouldnât be picky but my heart hurts just a lil bit bc he didnât really put much thought into my gift as much as I did with his. I want to talk to him about it but Iâll give him another shot :) He definitely knows how I am personality wise and Iâm just assuming heâs bad with giving gifts to other people.Â
3.Family: Iâve definitely gotten closer with his family and even eat dinner with them from time to time. In terms of being around his Mom, Iâve learned how to act around her and I donât feel as intimidated of her as I did before. There are times where I do get a lil iffy whenever we hang out just bc his familyâs humor is a lil different from what my family considers to be funny. They are a lot more open about roasting each other and are great at not being offended easily. Iâll get used to it tho and will definitely work on participating on it myself when it comes to my boyfriend LOLÂ
4.My appearance: So within the past few months Iâve made a few changes to my appearance that are pretty big. For starters, I DYED my hair!!!! This was definitely the scariest thing for me just because I didnât know how I was going to look and how other people would react to it. My s/o likes it as well as my other friends, but there are a few people who arenât too fond of it. The second change was getting a cartilage piercing. Now this one hurt me the most just because my boyfriend and his mom werenât very supportive of it. The idea of them not liking it was fine but the way that they expressed and reacted in front of me hurt. I never felt so insecure. As I mentioned before, theyâre very open about things and are highly assertive. It took a while for me to start appreciating the way I look at the moment but I got there.Â
5.School: He started school. end of story. jk but yeah he started nursing school and doesnât have much time to hang out with me as he did before. He definitely puts in the effort to call me and hang out with me whenever he does have the time so thatâs cool hehe <3 Iâve noticed that he does a lot of his studying last minute so now iâm trying to encourage him to study with me in the library despite it being summer. I do have one summer class so I will be having something to do.Â
6. Overall: Weâre doing absolutely great. Despite the whole piercing fiasco, weâre doing okay. I just wish that he could express his opinions in a softer manner when it comes to me but then again thatâs not very like him.Â
Definitely, this hasnât been too much of a positive update but hopefully, thatâll change with the next one :)
Little animation I made a while ago for practice, it has a lot of mistakes and Iâm not very happy with it, but hey, it moves ! Itâs not even supposed to go that fast but tumblr decided that it should accelerate apparently, Iâm not used to posting gif so I dunno

how to save and make money as a student
making money
tutoring! one of the easiest to make good money in limited time! you donât have to make home calls if you sign up to an online tutoring agency and tutor over skype
sell your old clothes. to friends/classmates or online (eBay or depop are my favourite platforms)
sell your old notes. this is easily done online and a good way to make a little extra cash
sell your skills. sites like etsy and redbubble are good places to make money off your creative talents
saving money
save ÂŁ1378 in a year with my free printable
make coffee and tea at home. those daily £3 coffees add up quickly
take your own mug to coffee shops. if you canât resist the temptation of a coffee shop coffee take your own mug. pret a manger gives you a 50p discount if you bring your own mug and caffe nero gives you double stamps
donât carry money with you all the time. this will just make you tempted to spend
never buy another bottle of water. carry a reusable bottle with you, bottled water is very very overpriced considering most cafes will refill your bottle for free
donât use apple pay. if you always have access to money youâll be much more tempted to go into that shop and buy the top you passed in the window
food prep! carry snacks and a packed lunch with you to avoid pricey snack bars and ready meals. this is also an easy way to be healthier
home cook. this is always cheaper than eating out and 99% of the time cheaper than pot noodles/ramen. home cooking is even more affordable if you do it in bulk or with friends
borrow and download free ebooks and audiobooks as much as possible
make good use of the library. instead of buying books borrow them for free, a library membership is often free if you belong to a university/college but a membership is still often cheaper than buying lots of books if youâre a big reader
bring reusable bags to avoid paying for plastic bags and be kinder to the environment.
go paperless. avoid printing costs and look after the environment
cut your own hair. going to the hairdressers is expensive and can be saved as a treat but if you just need to trim your split ends thereâs no reason why you shouldnât do it yourself or get a friend to help you
pre drink! if you are going out then drink alcohol at home itâs much cheaper than buying it in pubs or bars
other
use cash. itâs much easier to avoid spending money and stick to your budget when you can see exactly how much you haveÂ
keep track of your saving and spending. i love the âpocket expenseâ app. this will also show you what things you are overspending onÂ
collect coupons and loyalty cards. points make prizes!
create a culture of clothes borrowing among your friends. instead of always buying new things for events
Budgeting Tips!
Iâve gotten pretty good at saving money over the years, here are my tips!
Look into minimalism. I put this first because if you are someone who feels trapped in a cycle of spending money on clothes and things you donât need (like I once was) you need to consider a way of life that requires less unnecessary spending and focusses on improving your character and life as a whole. It can be hard to even begin saving when you have a strong urge to buy the latest trends and trinkets, but it is possible to break out of the cycle, and easier if you watch some motivating videos. here are some of my favs (no sponsors!):

Never spend more than you earn. This is easier for some and harder for some but is the most crucial part of saving because you need money left over each week to save. If youâre jobless at the moment, or spending heavily, you need to cut down your spending so its below the amount coming in.
Put your budget in a spreadsheet. I put my weekly budget in an excel document with all my expenses (bus fare, phone service, food and other) and earnings (student loan payments, extra work) and see what can be left over.
Decide how much you want to save, and how much you want to spend from your left over money. lets say you earn $150 per week and must spend $50 on utilities. You have $100 left over to spend and save. If you want to get to your savings goal fast, you should save more than you spend. If youâre relaxed about saving and just want to put away a small amount, you can adjust the ratio accordingly.
Transfer your saving amount into your savings account immediately  after you get paid. Letâs say you want to save $60 per week and have $40 left to spend on food, experiences and miscellaneous items. Transfer that $60 into your savings account when you get paid and leave the $40 + utility amount ($50) in you spendings.
Pay for utilities as soon as possible. Pay your service provider load your transport money onto your transport card, put the petrol in your car etc when you get paid, if possible. This leaves you with only your extra $40 spending money in your account, so you know how much you can spend from it throughout the week. Â
Have Fun! Saving is easiest when you enjoy it (duh!) so try to focus on the satisfaction of a rising bank account, and the reason youâre saving whether it be travel, study, safety, or just to get into the good habit.
take the time to read this
look I know youâre tired, and I know youâre scared. scared of that daunting task, scared of screwing up that daunting task. I get that you might be mad at yourself for procrastinating or letting the work with seemingly far away deadlines pile up and suddenly itâs 1am and you realise your thesis for that essay is horrible and you have no idea what the hell youâre talking about. but all of that is in the past, all of those decisions in the past and you can wallow in anger and self loathing and continue to put off things you know are important, or, you could utilise the time you have right now to do as much of it as you possibly can as soon as you can. so go onto google calendar, or grab your planner, or a scrap of paper or hell, a napkin, and figure out the time you have on your hands in the next 24 hours, estimate how long you think those big horrible, breath shaking and head-in-hands inducing tasks will take. if you get it done in that time, great. if you donât, move on, you have other shit to do. itâs better to have 85% of most things done than 98% of one thing done and 2% of another thing done that will turn out to be equally as important. save yourself further stress, do the napkin plan thing, block social media sites, write down what youâre feeling if youâre feeling anything immense, because emotions tend to take your mind off things, and get it done. Whether itâs %100, %85 or even %10, get some of it done.
wow people are actually taking the time to read this.
hearing genuine laughter from the people you love is the most healing sound
life gets better once you start doing your own thing. stop comparing yourself to others and if that means getting rid of social media than get rid of social media. it means to stop with the negative self talk, your brain is lying to you. train it to tell the beautiful truth.
it means to look ahead of you, not behind, not to the side. pay no attention to the strangers around you until you can look at them and feel peace in your heart that you are doing just fine and so are they. you do not have to compromise your self love because someone else is beautiful, successful etc. you can be beautiful too, donât worry.Â
it gets easier once you start paying attention to yourself, your own happiness. your own comfort. pay no mind, speak words of kindness, and enjoy what you have.
