Finally finished my Miss Peregrine bookmark!!! I'm so proud of it even if half of the artistic decisions were experimental and done without clue...
I just love the books and I needed a drawing of my favourite character🥴 . It's inspired from the book version but I wanted to keep the blue tones from the movie one since it's my favorite color💙
The color choices were heavily inspired in the background art from the Disney movie Sleeping Beauty from 1959
Francesca and the modern ymbrynes
Most people don't think much about it, but Francesca and all the ymbrynes in training are the age they look.
They are modern-day ymbrynes, all aging normally, they are the same age as Jacob.
@marygih I headcannon the academy had to ban modern music because the girls wouldn't stop playing music by the backstreet boys and Britney spears, driving miss Avocet and miss Bunting insane.

Both options, there was a progression in the character that is very visible: at first she maintained the composure of a teacher, but after the kidnapping she became a mother. This becomes evident in small acts that previously seemed distant from her; she cares about Emma and her mental health and doesn't want Jacob to break her heart. She sings Olive and Claire to sleep, she takes the children to the beach, she makes sure the children brush their teeth before bed and that everyone goes to bed on time. She demonstrates her love for the children verbally, she cries in front of them, she loves them and no longer cares about maintaining the facade of a teacher.
I probably have it, but I'm not home to check my sketchbooks, so that'll have to wait for another time. But I just posted a new piece of art by Francesca!
Yes, I have some ideas, like a fanfic about Enoch's arrival at the house, or a fanfic about Alma discovering that her parents died, or a fanfic about when Isabel arrived in Devils Acre. Besides a fanfic about when Alma and Isabel met in childhood, there are also fanfics about how all the children ended up at Miss P's orphanage... Many ideas!
Definitely yes. Primarily at the beginning of the transformations, when the ymbrynes are not yet able to control their animal instincts.I think there's a safety separation in place so that predatory ymbrynes don't get carried away by their instincts and try to devour their little friends. And there's also the issue of territorial predatory ymbrynes getting irritated with each other for having to share the same space.
I think they go very much from one extreme to the other; either they completely agree with something, or they are completely averse to the other's idea. They have very distinct personalities and treat children differently. Miss B is more practical, Miss A is more maternal and sometimes sentimental, and this is often problematic. Miss A has a tendency to create spoiled children when she feels sorry for them.
Fugh is the best MPHFPC couple and nothing will change my opinion.
Canonically, I can't stand Jacob and Noor; it's just as bad as Jacob and Emma. But if it's a matter of headcanon, I don't like most of the ships that everyone loves 😅 Enorace, Hugh x Millard, Victor x Millard, Caul x Murnau, Bentham x Nim, I have good reasons for disliking any of them.

Peregrine-Bentham Dynasty
I haven't finished drawing the adults yet. Alma is thinking about how to quietly get rid of them.
I loved how well this captures their personalities; Caul is always by Alma's side, silently tormenting and intimidating her. Bentham, who should be the authority figure, is passive; he turns a blind eye to Jack's bad behavior. He is willfully blind. He chose to be complicit with Caul since childhood.

AMOD could have been such a great book; the three deleted scenes were undoubtedly incredible, but they were all cut and replaced with such an inferior plot 😭
Emma and Horace get fake identities and go to study with Jacob in the present.
The children meet Dallas and move into a run-down motel.
Jacob discovers he is adopted.
That would have added so much charm to the story, it would have given Jacob more depth, it would have created more adventures... But we lost all of that.
