Dinobot flares his field against Rattrap's, offering a silent readiness; the beast whose coat he wears understands no fear, only aggression and the drive to attack. Their pack is near still, and even if not, there are two of them, and only one enemy.

And this is their territory. They will fight to defend it. Together.

He draws his own blaster, sniffs the breeze again as narrowed optics scan the shadows.

"You will find us not so easy a target." He warns. "And the other Maximals are also near."

unknown to most, rats are both predator and prey. they hunt those smaller than them; scrape up the remains and share amongst their mischief. but they are also far cleverer than most, and pick their battles wisely. rampage is a predator. rampage is a monster.

this is not a battle rattrap can win.

he straightens onto his hind legs, pressing his spinal strut near flat against dinobot's. whiskers twitch as the world grows deathly silent.

"i don't like this."

the words are barely free from his muzzle before the bushes to his left burst open with an explosion of dry twigs. crimson red and fiery orange bolt forward. the sound of rampage's laughter echoes across the clearing. rattrap is quick to launch himself upward, into the trees, scrambling for purchase, away from hands that will grab, tear, rip, and rend--

"move, bird brain!"

fight!!! urges Dinobot's hindbrain, the predator instinct within roaring at him to drive the interloper away.

But he has enough sense to move, twisting away from the onrushing figure even as he shrieks a velociraptor's challenge call.

He is a Maximal. He will fight not just for himself but for all his Maximal allies.

He's never been one to run from a fight.
