hi, here's my little rant about the creepypasta fandom.

alright. I've made around three posts about this (all on my old account) but I feel like i didn't say it properly, and I've actually seen / experienced this myself now, so I have more to say.
this fandom is full of mentally ill and edgy teenagers. What's new? creepypasta has always been horror stories for people the age of 11-15 - stories you read and tell your friends to scare them. that's it. pastas more popular like Jeff, Toby, Ben, ect, do have a more "realistic-ish" story, but still a story. nothing more.
despite this, I've seen the majority of fans say things like "Toby IS real!" "Masky is stalking me!" "I saw Jeff the killer!" and claim to be telling the truth, also most of the time saying that they aren't schizophrenic, but HAVE been called that.
.. look. I'm NOT calling these people schizophrenic or suggesting that they have any sort of mental disorder. however, these people are plain stupid.
no, Toby isn't real. he has a creator and a new design, also I see people say he looks around 17, which wouldn't make sense given his story is set in the 2000s (from what I remember). Masky also cannot stalk you. he's played by Tim Sutton, he's from a WEBSERIES. he isn't real, along with every other pasta and slenderverse character. (also it just.. wouldn't make sense..?)
now, things like having fictives are ENTIRELY different. (pls tell me if I got this wrong) but a fictive is a type of alter a person with DID / OSDD can form as a response to stress and/or trauma. aka, they cannot control this. but this still doesn't mean that they are real. if you have a fictive of a pasta, that doesn't make them real. please do not go around claiming that they exist because of this. I feel the need to mention this because this IS a real thing I've seen happen multiple times.
same thing with psychosis too. I'm aware people can't control that, as somebody who experienced it myself, I'm VERY understanding of what the mind goes through under that state. but that doesn't excuse your behaviour by telling others that they DO in fact exist, and that they're targeting people. that could send other people into psychosis, deepen others who are experiencing it, and less importantly, ruin the entire fandom.
it genuinely disgusts me how you guys are still saying this even after there's PUBLIC knowledge of teenagers killing 'in the name of slenderman'. not even teenagers! there's CHILDREN doing this too!!
I'm gonna end this here, but i feel like I've gotten my point across. this isn't to target anybody or send hate, so please do not read it that way. (apologies if my tone is off too!)
