Just a poser posing.
Been pouring my heart and soul (pun intended) into making all natural cold process soap bars. Always only colored and infused with nature and plant dyes. This bar has a top ‘rind’ made with Moringa from the tree that’s been flourishing in the backyard garden.
The pink is thanks to some beautiful pink clay and those little ‘watermelon seeds’ are actually holy basil seeds I painstakingly separated from their seed pods.
The whole batch was made with a frozen watermelon purée made from the growing Alibaba vine out back right now.
So happy to utilizing and appreciating the abundance nature provides.
Skumbucket Soaps
Yesterday was one year since I shattered my ankle and ironically I’m laid up, back on the couch, due to having hopefully my last surgery on this same ankle.
Holy shitballs what a year it’s been. Heavy and painful but that’s where all the growth happens right?! Change is the only constant and lots has changed.
This has shown me how strong I am when it’s forced on me. 2019 is the year of recovery. Being mindful and coming back stronger than before.
Had most the metal taken out yesterday. Laid a top the bowl today that did this to me almost a year ago.
Thank you skateboarding. Forever and always.
There isn’t too much these days that I enjoy more than spending time with the girl gang doing what we all love so much. Skateboarding is everything.
5 and a half months post ankle surgery. It hurts so good.
Sun dried tobacco and a couple pups.
All of this was grown in a sandy backyard by the beach.
Delightfully tacky, yet unrefined.
Looking at life like....
Got some holes and metal with me for life! Will be walking again on May 17th. Just over three months from the day I shattered it. At first, I was devastated. The idea of 3 months without my skateboard alone, felt unbearable. Now I’m sitting fine with the idea of another 3 months, 6 months total, before I’m really skating again. Time off, especially like this, gives you a new perspective. Time to think. Time to learn and appreciate in a whole new way. I feel tougher. I feel more in love with life and those around me. I feel as if I have a new passion. I’m so grateful for this experience and that plate. So grateful for skateboarding.
I do a lot of sitting these days. A little under two more months before I can walk again. I’ll happily enjoy all this extra time to sit with my fur child and sip my mernin brew.
Paying my dues
Sliding into the weekend like.... jk. I broke my ankle. I’m sliding nowhere no time soon.
