I'm too lazy to write an actual review so let's just do this
I've really been meaning to write a review of Senran Kagura Burst, but I personally am giving up on that and writing off my negatives and positives here. (Positives are placed below the negatives.)
1. The framerate. And I didn’t wanna talk about this, but it’s kinda inexcusable considering how powerful the 3DS is. It caps out at 30 FPS, but depending on what’s going on screen, it rarely stays there. It’s nothing game-breaking, but it makes the experience slightly less enjoyable.
 2. STUNLOCK. This frustrated me so much when I first played this game. Some enemies can interrupt and combo you to death if you let them, and this unfortunately happened way too often. It's not a problem early on, but some of the later areas give you waves of enemies that are NOTHING BUT STUNLOCKING ONES. The game tries to compensate for this with an ability called the limit break, spending a tenth of your health to knock back all enemies around you at any time. The problem is that more often than not, enemies will just come back and stun you after your limit break animation ends, and that becomes frustrating quickly.
Now, positives.
1. The story/characters. All 12 of the characters have unique personalities and backstories. I’m not gonna go over all of them in detail, but they’re all memorable and you’ll probably pick a favorite shortly after starting the game. The story is played out with both character conversations before and after levels, as well as occasional walls of text that rival visual novels. It’s all well written and keeps you engaged.
2. The gameplay. This game is a bit of a combination of hack-n-slash/2D beat-em-up, and it’s great. Every character has an experience meter and can level up. As they level up, you get more combos, and even though you can pretty much beat everything by mashing Y until it’s dead, it’s fun to experiment with the fancy combos.
3. The life and hometown graphics. While the game doesn't completely run in 3D (only during cutscenes and the dressing room, and it’d probably make the game run worse), when it is running, it’s amazing. From the flashy fanservice to the fact that the dressing room allows you access to 3D anime boobs just shows how far gaming and science in general has come.
All in all, I’d give this game a solid 7.5/10 as a game. (8.5/10 if you’re an anime titty connoisseur like me.) I’m proud to say that I’d probably still enjoy this game even if it didn’t have all the flashy fanservice (but it makes the experience even better).
