Happy Mermay! Here’s a mer!Aawari, inspired by the vampire squid. I tried to keep most of her Nautolan features while making sure they blended well with the rest of the design!

So this nasty little thing looks cute and almost harmless as a child. She makes no noise whatsoever even when she’s swimming around. However, as an adult she basically turns into a deep sea Sarlacc - she usually incapacitates her target with an horribly loud and unnatural high-pitched scream, causing eardrum ruptures and sometimes straight up destroying part of the victim’s brain, and then proceeds to grab them with her tail-tentacles and…eats them with the giant, teethy mouth hidden inside said tail. :D

Strangely, even though she produces no sounds (aside from her incapacitating scream) and doesn’t speak at all, the ghostly, haunting voice of a sobbing child can be heard whenever she’s close. If you hear it, it’s already too late for you.
