Hey. Minors following me. Internet safety is key!! NEVER include these in your bio/byf:
Medical diagnoses - this is nobody's business but yours. You don't owe anyone an explanation for why you are the way that you are
Trauma - same reason as above
Triggers - people can use these against you! Don't give people tools to hurt you. No one has to know what tags you block. Just block tags to stay safe!
Age - age is okay for adults to include but is iffy when you're a teen. Predators want this information, don't give people more than they need. Just state that you're a minor, that's all that anyone needs to know.
In general: stay safe. If you're not comfortable with every stranger out there having access to this information, you shouldn't post it on the internet.
Play devil's advocate and ask yourself about what would happen if someone searched for your information with intent to hurt you. You do NOT owe anyone an explanation!
adding on to this post, i agree w all of OPs points, but i also highly advise against super young teens posting their face on the internet, its so easy to take peoples selfies + name and find stuff out like your school and then figure out the rough area in which you live. same with your phone number. be super careful about what you put out there. once you post it, it really is here forever.
OP already said this so I’m just reiterating to emphasize:
The golden rule of information sharing on the internet is: What would happen if someone saw this who wanted to hurt me?
If the answer is that it would make it easier to harass you, identify you, contact you, or god forbid find you, don’t put it online. You can’t fully control who does and does not see that information--not even with privacy settings.

I feel like the posts where people go "just watched phm and i don't get why people ship grace with markiplier's character from another movie" are going about it all backwards. As you simply don't get the context for the ship just from watching that.
The Iron Lung movie came out before the Project Hail Mary movie. Two months before, in fact.
The ship started not because people watched PHM and decided to ship Grace with this other character called Simon. But because the Iron Lung movie fans watched it and decided to ship Simon with Grace.
Spoiler alert for both movies here, but Iron Lung is a horror movie where the main character goes through it all alone and then dies at the end. PHM meanwhile ends in a more hopeful tone where the main character gets not only companionship, but a chance at a happy ending.
People who had watched the Iron Lung movie watched PHM and noticed the similarities of the unwilling suicide missions the main characters were put through.
And then went on to consider what if Simon didn't die, but rather got transported to a different world. To someone who understands what he went through. And he gets to have a happy ending.
It started from people rescuing Simon, not from needing to ship Grace.
i feel crazy
a lot of the time, i either have a playlist playing in my head or the same two verses of a song on repeat. Right now, the only thing repeating is the song from the going fishing scene in Project Hail Mary and every time I hear that song in my head, i get insane FOMO (as if i havent already watched the movie) like its so weird!! I feel the need to rewatch the scene, and I do, but it doesn't quench that feeling. I need to know if anyone feels that way about that song because holy, it actually gives me the need to pilot a spaceship. My heart starts pumping, I feel adrenaline, I feel like I'm preparing for something crazy and this is all from imagining one song over and over again.
posting that was so stressful what
I am so sorry if anyone got like a lot of notifications and whatnot, I was struggling so hard with pictures and tagging and all that aauughh. I'm still figuring out Tumblr but hey, getting the hang of it!!
‘The C.O.I. is an establishment of brilliant minds, all working together to cure the world one experiment at a time. While Grace is giving his class a tour of the C.O.I., alarms go off. There’s a containment breach. Upset, irritated and incredibly worried for the kids, Grace, Carl and Adrian bring the kids back to school. Grace takes his car – yes, he has a car – and follows Carl’s school-bus.
But behind him, under felt paper and ungraded test sheets, hides the reason the alarms went off in the first place.’

With the whole "Markiplier making his own DVD copies of Iron Lung to sell" thing, it's been fascinating and slightly concerning how many people seem to genuinely believe that if a physical release isn't coming from a giant corporation, it must automatically be a bootleg.
Look at me.
Look me directly in the eyes while I say this.
You can just make things.
You can simply create something and put it into the world.
That's allowed.
People have been doing it for centuries.
They sell blank VHS tapes. They sell blank DVDs. Blank CDs. You can buy flash drives by the bucketful if you really want to. If you create a movie, an album, a game, a documentary, or a four-hour video essay about the mating habits of fictional space goblins, you are entirely permitted to put that thing on physical media and sell it.
That is not piracy.
Piracy is taking something that belongs to someone else and reproducing or distributing it without permission.
If I buy a DVD of a movie, I own that copy of the movie. I do not own the movie itself. I didn't acquire the rights to duplicate it, press a thousand copies, and start selling them out of my garage like I've become the regional distributor for Warner Bros.
The copyright, distribution rights, and intellectual property still belong to whoever created it or whoever legally acquired those rights.
If I start burning copies of Iron Lung and selling them myself without Markiplier's permission, that's piracy.
If Markiplier, who made and owns the rights to Iron Lung, burns copies and sells them himself, that's just distribution.
He's the rights holder.
He's distributing his own work.
If you made it, if it came from your own mind, your own work, your own time, your own resources, then congratulations. You own the thing. You don't need a corporation to bless it with legitimacy.
The corporation is not what makes it real.
The fact that it exists is what makes it real.
I think we've accidentally spent so many years living inside a world dominated by mass-produced media that some people have developed the strange assumption that all media emerges from a factory somewhere. As if films naturally occur in shrink-wrapped plastic cases and descend from the heavens aboard a pallet truck.
But independent artists have been burning discs, dubbing tapes, printing books, pressing records, and mailing things directly to people for longer than many of us have been alive.
That's not a bootleg.
That's just a product.
It's not "bootleg."
It's just... leg.
The normal kind.
The original, free-range, locally sourced leg.
no way people are thinking this.. guys 😭??
The eridian welcoming committee and the eridian hating committee exist in the same world and should have an intense rivalry Grace is oblivious to.
