Can you spare a coffee?

Okay folks, I absolutely HATE to do this but I have to ask anyone who cares and can spare any amount at all for help.

I’m a first year immigrant student, negative at the bank with no further credit options, I can’t afford food or any other basic necessities and my next bit of income isn’t before a several weeks from now - and I can’t eat or pay my bills even today.

Here’s a little guide on how to be a decent fricking human beings, because you are too sensitive to talk about periods with women:

-Don’t joke about menstrual pain and cramps, even if the person on period jokes about it with other people with uteruses

-Hormonal changes are real, so stop using the ’ Are you on your period?’ “joke” whenever a woman makes a statement with emotions that you, in your egotistical little heads, think not having makes you more of a man or whatever bullshit

-When they say they are hurting and can’t eat/clean/do chores/go out etc, don’t freaking act like they’re being hysterical and/or overreacting, IT. FUCKING.HURTS

-I don’t think this is necessary to add, but you know, you may not be a decent being- don’t you EVER make the person on period feel guilty if they bleed through their pads etc and don’t notice hence ruining a piece of clothing or furniture

-don’t make them feel guilty that they can’t do something when in pain or just bcs they don’t feel comfortable doing that something while bleeding like it’s somehow their fault

-periods are messy, get over it

-freaking inform yourself about periods- there’s this magical place full of knowledge called the Internet so USE IT

I am fucking tired of being treated like some hysterical being that suddenly lost her mind and is swamped by these feminine feelings ™ that make me unable to mentally function. I am tired of my pain being dismissed as something usual and therefore an unimportant factor. I am tired of my period being used like a joke or that taboo thing no one talks about so it’s never treated like legit discomfort and pain.

As we enter finals week/time of year, some reminders:

- keep breathing

- take some time to de-stress and give your brain a break

- study what you can, do your best, accept whatever that looks like

- don’t forget to take care of yourself (eat some food, drink water, take a shower)

- make sure you’re still sleeping, this will help you process the information you study and will help you stay sane

I can guarantee that there are tens of thousands of teenagers who have to pay bills and help support their families or are the only financial supporter to their family.

not to mention, if minimum wage was meant solely for high school students how would the business survive when students are in school?? are they only supposed to be open on the weekend? this “unpopular opinion” makes no sense.

Unpopular fact: in the 70s a minimum wage worker could pay for college with a summer job.

Unpopular fact: minimum wage was conceived to be the minimum amount of money a person would need to support themselves and their families when working 40 hours per week.

Unpopular fact: minimum wage was created because working men and women in this nation fought–figuratively in the negotiating room and literally in the streets–for a fair working wage, with sweat and blood and tears and death.

Unpopular fact: military service personnel are not the only people who have fought and died for your rights as American: labor leaders and common workers laid down their lives so that you could have a 40 hour work week instead of 80 hours; so you could have a 2 day weekend instead of none; so you could have lunch and bathroom breaks instead of going hungry and shitting your pants,; so you could have a three day weekend in September.

Capitalism would NEVER dole out basic human decency without literal human sacrifice.
