Before she could finish, the bells on the shop’s door began ringing once more, this time an angry store owner stood in the doorway. In a panic, she jumped to her feet, grabbed the boy’s hand, and started to run.

Having the TV on in the background made Aimi feel less alone in the empty home, but really she was only interested in fixing her foster father’s wristwatch. Tiny intricate pieces were scattered across the glass table, of which she handled carefully yet speedily.
