My current frustration with the whole PT/ISFF bans is that people are saying that they are being “disappeared”. You know, like the practice of abducting people (usually activists) irl to silence them?? Y’all, they both got banned off one account on a social media website. Neither PT or ISFF is dead or kidnapped or even off the internet for that matter. It’s not “social murder”, it’s not being “disappeared”.

It’s this weird escalation of violence that people have been using to make ISFF and PT seem like martyrs, and it’s just entirely inaccurate. I think it’s a way to radicalize anyone who thinks being scrutinized more because of a gender identity and then getting harsh crackdowns is bad (true and something that needs to be addressed, though I still think telling people to kill themselves is worthy of banning.) into thinking that this is a motivated murder and someone is to blame for it (usually trans mascs or intersex people or the ever vague “TMEs”, really just anyone that radfems want to attack).

It’s less of a “I care about trans fems being banned off of social media due to the sexualization of trans fems bodies, like how SFW selfies are labeled mature and how they are then banned for showing ‘explicit content’, which also intersects with ideas of censorship of explicit things in general.” and more of “I can’t believe these theyfab cunts are KILLING OUR GIRLS. Like, I get it. People liked those blogs for whatever reason and now they’re upset that they’re gone. But it’s a fucking social media account. You can make another one. Hell, it’s already happened! Please be wary of people trying to make it seem like PT and ISFF are dead or disappeared, and especially be wary of people trying to act like it’s one identity’s fault somehow. Oftentimes, this is a way to push you towards radfem groups! At the end of the day, banning is a staff decision and should be treated like one.

in the context of intrusive thoughts, these thoughts are not in alignment with who you are or what you want, they cause distress. theres an emphasis in understanding your thoughts are not you because your brain sometimes produces weird ideas that arent really in alignment with what you believe, and you dont need to pay them much attention. the nature of ocd is that because the thought causes discomfort, you feel a need to perform a compulsion and seek reassurance to ease it.

but not all thoughts are intrusive, some thoughts do align with who you are, if none of your thoughts meant anything then you wouldnt be able to fucking function as a person. all actions and choices start out as thoughts. there is a very clear difference between intrusive thoughts, desires, beliefs, etc. the words im typing started as thoughts, but to categorize them as intrusive thoughts because "all thoughts are just thoughts" would be very disingenous.

i have delusional ocd for example, meaning i have intrusive thoughts focused on the fear of having delusions. this doesnt mean thats the same as having schizophrenia. thinking about having a delusion =/= being delusional.

but for some reason this doesnt apply to pedophilia. i wonder why hmmm. yeah intrusive thoughts of pedophilia are definitely the same psychological experience as believing pedophilia is okay and desiring to have sex with children. thoughts are just thoughts after all! and thoughts dont mean anything ever!!!
